:flower1:Good Morning Cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Thursday! Actually for me it is more like Friday. Leaving work a little early and then we are heading up to Wisconsin.

I may or may not be getting on here over the weekend. The hotel has free high-speen internet, but the races are at night and I think we'll be at the track most of the day. We'll see.

I definately will be missing chat this week.

Have a great day and a great weekend everyone!

I went last night and didn't see them listed. How did you get to them?

Good Thursday Morning Everyone!

Happy Belated Birthday Jared!!!

Not doing to much around here. Trying to get ready to leave for Vegas on Saturday and really looking forward to meeting Stacey and Diana and their DD's the following week. I can't wait to get to Vegas and see my Mom. She is going through a lot of medical problems right now so the two weeks we are there will be a little hetic.

We are going to Paramount Kings Dominion... Anyone in the area been there? I hear I will hate it being a frequent WDW visitor.

When we went to King's Dominion, I was not impressed. Of course it was about 5 years ago. But like ohiominnie said, after going to WDW I was not impressed with the park. There was a lot of trash and the upkeep(maintenance wise like painting or fixing some problems, not the rides) was really poor. Also the other thing I did not like was that most of the rides were run by teenage kids(working a summer job) who were more interested in talking and playing around than their job. Again I have to agree with ohiominnie, as long as you go knowing it's not WDW then your expectations should not be to high. We have found that not many amusement parks have the standards that Disney does.

Everyone have a great Thursday.

Good Morning All! Another Disney Day for You!!!
Okay, so here I am in Boise, running around like a chicken with my head cut off with my sis trying to buy all this stuff for the party Friday night. Do you think Boise has anything? No, No, No. In 100 degree heat yesterday we ran from store to store looking for simple things. Ended up calling the DH in Salt Lake and he stopped at Zurchers and picked up the 50th Anniversary napkins and is bringing on plane cuz they were out of them here.

Anyway....................

So yesterday, I needed to go buy a pair of shoes to go with dress for the party. Sis and I go to the Boise Mall and are going shoe to shoe store with no luck. Stopped to look at the directory to see if we missed any shoe stores and looking for the Hallmark store. Wonderful, nice, great woman at ice cream stand says "Can I help you find something?" I say we are looking for Hallmark Store. She tells us where it is at. In my Disney mode, I just happen to say. Do you still have a Disney Store in the mall?

OH MY HECK.....................SHE SAYS...................................YES.............................

Proceeds to tell me where it is located. I tell my sis, sorry, got to make a Disney run, I've been deprived for almost 8 months since they pulled out all our stores in Salt Lake. I made a b-line for the store, and $120 later out I come with all my new treasures! That was just the highlight of my day. Everything, I mean everything, was on sale in the store. It said "Semi Annual Sale" but for what they were giving away I really believe they are getting ready to close down the store. Store manager asked me what I was doing with all my treasures. I proceeded to say---well.....the two Mickey Carribean shirts are for my grandsons for our 10 day Christmas Cruise with Disney. She about fell on the floor. She didn't know Disney had a 10 day cruise and then when I broke the news to her about going through the Panama Canal as the Magic repositions next May she didn't evey know that the Magic was moving to California!!!!! Talk about being out of the loop. I told her all about the Dis Boards and she is going to start coming over to find out all the latest. She wants to go on another Dis cruise, she couldn't quit talking about the 7 day she and her DH went on.

Anyway, besides the shirts, bought the 2 granddaughters each a Disney Swimsuit (7.99); 4 Dis t-shirts for the grandkids (3.99); cell phones (2.50); 3 pair of shorts for DD (4.99); 4 outfits for babies that aren't born yet (7.99) beach towels (7.99). I think today I am making my second trip back to that store!! My sis is having second thoughts and needs to go back and buy stuff for her grandkids. And the second trip will be separate from the first, so the money I spent yesterday doesn't count!

Okay, that's my story. The highlight of my day. Pretty pathetic when the highlight is shopping in a Disney Store! huh?

Today got more errands to do and I never did find that pair of shoes.

Talk to you all soon!

Linda

:jester:

:p Linda, I LOVE your attitude! This next trip to the Disney store doesn't count!! I have to remember that one!
Doesn't it amaze you that people on the west coast don't know about the ship coming there? The ships are almost FULL, who's on them?? All east-coaster's? All over Disneyland and California Adventure, I ran into people who didn't know. I would have thought DCL would have been spreading the word.
Our Disney Store here hasn't had clothing in it for a long time. They also used to sell pins there, but they've been gone for two years, I'd say. No more antenna toppers. They're down to some costumes, and mostly plush & toys.

Leslie, I was meaning to tell you, your babies are beautiful!! The picture makes me want to reach in and pet them!

Mary...have fun. Remember, if you see a huge motorhome with Arizona plates, say "hi" to Dave for me! I'm sure you'll spot it out of the thousand or so other motorhomes!

LeiLani...safe trip, see you soon!!!!! Looking forward to our dinner in Paris. I love saying that, makes it sound like we're really going to Paris.

Lots to do at work today. Have to do invoices. We don't use a computer, all my work is done by hand. Don't start on me...our work is all custom, so we don't have an inventory, every job is different, most of our clients are different (except for the contractors) so there isn't a computer program I could use. I even still use the green ledgers with the little tiny squares for my monthly sales tally. If nothing else, it keeps me on my toes. Keeps the old brain sharp.
Anyway...off I go.

Have a great day!!!

Stacey

Stacey - we usually don't get over by where the motorhomes are, but if I get bored I promise to go on a search and look for Dave.:D

:wave2: Hi everyone!!! Are you having a good evening?
The week is almost over. One more week that we can mark off of our calendars.

It is 6:15 and still 105 outside. And they say that our monsoon is starting. I'll believe it when I see it. It has been cloudy, which is a good sign. I still don't know why they call it a monsoon season. 20-some years, and I've not seen one yet.
Would love to have some rain. The only bad part is that when it rains here, they close the airport. Not used to dealing with bad weather. Seems like every time I want to fly somewhere, it rains. Have to keep my fingers crossed for these upcoming trips.

Diana, I got my package from Leisure Pro. Now I'm really ready to cruise. Think I'd look silly snorkeling in the pool in Vegas???

Well, back after a bit. Have to run pick up DD.

Stacey

Hey Stacey, I got MY package from Leisure Pro today too. Must be their day to ship to the Southwest. New snorkel for me, hope it works better than the last one. Does anyone else freak out a little when they jump into the ocean, even when you've done it several times before? Jumping off a boat into waves is the worst.

I've been reading the thread about the Disney Wedding show on the Food network. I've got to catch that show! DD has been saying she wants a Disney wedding for years. I told her she could have that or a college education, take your pick.

Diana - I totally freak out in when I first get in the water. There's no jumping in for me. I just kind of creep in slowly. I also make sure that I have my floaty vest on and it's fully inflated!

we watched 50 first dates tonight (thank you netflix) pretty funny movie.
now i'm heading to bed. vbs for the last time tomorrow morning.

Yes, a vest helps! At least it's something to hold onto while you get the mask and snorkel fixed without your head going under. After that, I'm OK. Snorkeling is great.

50 First Dates is cute. We watched Secret Window tonight, pretty freaky. Best movie I've watched in a long time is Station Agent.

Wow...I finally get a chance to sit down! Whoo hoo!!

To answer the jumping in the water question: Nope...I just hop right in. I surprised a whole boat load of divers in Curacao. We snorkelers were ready before they were, so the dive master told us to go ahead, the ladder's in the back. I asked if I could jump, and he just kind of looked at me funny and said okay. So I did.
And I hate using a vest. when they're inflated, you can't look down as well. The only times I have ever used one is on Disney excursion, because they make you wear it. But I don't inflate it. I have a natural bouyancy.
The scariest thing I've ever done is to join in on a cave dive. The divers swam in, and we had to hold our breath and duck under the cave wall and swim until we were past it, and in the cave. This all had to be timed so that the waves were rolling out of the cave, so that we weren't smashed up against the roof of the cave. I made the divemaster hold my hand as we went under and in.....I'm no dummy, the guy looked like a Greek God. Only he was Dutch.
Jay and our friends have jumped off cliffs and into the water. I went up there and checked it out. Then I chickened out. Someone has to stay and be the lookout! Generally, though, if it has to do with water, I'm first in line.
Wow, that ended up being a long story. Sorry you asked now, Diana?

Bad weather in Wisconsin....hope Mary's okay.

DS had a trivia question he wanted me to pass along.....

Who is Goofy's wife? (DS figures there must be a wife, because he has a son) Of course, he doesn't know the answer. LOL I told him you can't ask if you don't know the answer, and he said "Hey, I'm a kid." What's that about??
So, I asked. Anyone know?

Well, tomorrow I have to work until 1:00 (I usually have Fridays off) then my friends who are joining us in Las Vegas are coming over to go swimming.
Jordan is going to Flagstaff (northern Arizona...much cooler) for the weekend with her friend. Now if I could just get rid of DH, DS, and the dogs....... How do you do that, Vicki???
DD#1 comes home sometime Saturday to get the puppy. I like the little guy...but I'm convinced now that I don't need another one. I guess I have officially reached "Grandma" age!
She has called me at least once (usually more) every day since they've been gone, but not today. I think she said they were going into the city to visit The Museum of Natural History. That always reminds me of the kid's movie....something about Dinosaurs...can't ever remember the name...(where's the Trivia Queen?)

Anyway....Diana & LeiLani, I'm making us our own countdown timer: 10 Days 12 Hours ......Ladies DIS Meet In Las Vegas

It's that time again. No one wants to stay up late and talk to me anymore, so I guess I'll go to bed. :(
Good night!

GOOD FINALLY FRIDAY MORNING TO ALL OF THE EAST COAST CRUISERS! and to all of the rest of us, too!!!

Have a good one!
Stacey

Morning all!

It's hot on the East Coast - at least in our little part of the world. Guess summer is here to stay! But, thankfully, the cicadas are almost gone......just their disgusting little shells laying around everywhere. :( At least in 17 years, I'll be too old to care about their return. The t-shirt vendors in D.C. now have the "I survived the 2004 cicada invasion" shirts everywhere.

:daisy: Stace - You girls be good in Vegas, now! Do we need to alert the Nevada authorities that 3 Disney women are heading their way soon?? ::yes::

Auugh - jumping off the boat into the water to snorkel? No way. It's slowly easing down the ladder in the back and then one toe in at a time. And snorkeling into a cave......Stace, you are brave, indeed! And smart, too - holding the Greek God's hand. I'll remember that next time! Look for Greek God, look for Greek God......

Linda - LOL at your Disney store excitement! Sales at Disney stores are the best! We still have a store at our nearest mall, but they've completely redone their merchandise choices - it's almost all clothes now. Hardly any little Disney gifts.

Have a great weekend everyone - we're off to see MIL today. Long car drive up and back, but at least it's a day away from the "normal" routine.

:flower1:GOOD MORNING CRUISERS! :flower1:

Happy Friday! Thought I would do Mary's job since she is out of town. Things are really busy around here trying to get ready to go to Vegas tomorrow. Alyssa is in the parade for our local celebration tomorrow morning then we will head out to the airport. We get into Vegas Saturday around 8pm. I will probably not check in again until sometime on Sunday so everyone have a great weekend.

Mary - hope you are having a great time at the races.

Thanks for the countdown Stacey!!

LeiLani

Good morning all - checking in from Wisconsin.

LeiLani - thanks so much for doing the good morning. I'm on the notebook and was going to skip the fancy stuff. What a nice surprise to see it up there.

We've had beautful weather so far. Cool, but beautiful. Bad storms before we got here and that was all over the news, but the area we are in is good.

Saw a vintage race last night that was really cool. The oldest car was a 56 Chevy. The newest one from the 70's. It was only a 25 lap race, but great fun to watch.

We leave in a little while to head over to the track for the day. The truck race is at 8 pm tonight so I don't expect to be back online until maybe tomorrow morning.

Have a great day everyone!
