What's been your favorite shore excursion? Which one would you avoid like the plague?


LeiLani - We had a friend whose son made Eagle Scout a few years back and we did send a gift. It's a big deal - takes a lot of work/commitment to achieve that level.

Lisa - What's the weather doing down in your neck of MD? Did you decide on the Country Inn & Suites for the Sept. meet? I'm going to check out the Springhill Suites when we're at HerhseyPark on Easter.......any place else I should take a peek at?

What's been your favorite shore excursion? Which one would you avoid like the plague?

Favorite shore excursion has to be the Discover Cayman and Stingray City one we did through DCL. We visited Hell (yes it is a cheesey tourist trap, but we did send a postcard to ourselves), we did the Turtle Farm (loved it wish we had more time there), and we did the snorkeling with stingrays! That is by far the most awesome experience I've ever had. We loved it! Great memories.

As for which ones I would avoid - none really. I think Mark and I do a pretty good job of picking ones we think we will enjoy and we haven't been disappointed yet.

Morning all. Yes, I'm still here.....after 330 days on the waiting list to change my flight to tomorrow, I finally got the change to go through this morning after talking to 3 different people on Delta. Guess that's what happens when you use FF awards. I guess it was that easter thing. Anyway, we had originally wanted to go tomorrow but they never released any seats. And this morning they still had 34 empties from LA to Maui. So, after 20 minutes of conversation, and a couple of supervisors, and a call to Atlanta, they changed us. THey really must not want my normal paid business, I keep getting more and more frustrated with them.

Anyway we are scheduled to come back on the 21st, but we have been on a waitlist for the 19 and 20 for almost just as long. There are 46 empties on Monday night and over 100 on Tuesday. But do you think they will release those seats? Anyway, guess I'll still be working them over on my way back so I can come home earlier!

Anyway, happy day everyone, I'll check back and for sure I'll be headed out tomorrow!

(Gail-I hope you get some satisfaction from AA from your flight!)

I didn't realize they had opened the firehouse to visitors. That's good to know.

LeiLani, I think you were thinking of me since my son is the only Boy Scout I can think of on this thread (1st year, but did help on an Eagle project). Yes, if I were going to a family member's court of honor, I'd bring a momento. BSA has a variety of things with the eagle recognition in their catalog. If you do a search on Boy Scouts of America catalog, it should come up. Last time I did this, they weren't doing on-line orders, but you can get the item number then call the toll-free number and they'll send it to you within a couple of days. If you have problems in the search, there's a link off our council web page www.boyscouts-ncac.org

Lynda: You enjoy your Mickey bars. I won't ask you to eat one of those for me, cause I don't like dark chocolate (gasp!) but you can eat a piece of cheesecake for me if you'd like. And LeiLani and Virgil, are you up for sacrificing your waistlines for the enjoyment of the 12/18 cruisers???

For those traveling soon, have a safe and fun trip!

Charlotte, I haven't made any reservations for Sep yet. I tend to wait til closer to the date. I'll probably do it around May.

And Linda, I can't remember if I answered you, but yes, Kaylie did get into the camp she wanted for Girl Scouts.

Gail, glad you made it safely to FL. Have a nice, relaxing trip.

Linda - That's great you got part of your trip changed to what you wanted......isn't it a pain to deal with the airlines these days! (Sorry airline folk out there, but you know it is!) Wishing you luck in changing the return........but why, oh why, would you want to come back early from Maui!!!

Can't stay...getting DS to school, then spending ALL day with DSIL to find him a car. I love the thrill of the kill when it comes to the wheeling and dealing!! Talk about Aarrrrgh, matey!!

Glad it's not too hothere...can't stand car lots in the high heat.
