It's freeeeeezing here in MD tonight......brrrrrrrrr......they were calling for snow, but so far, nothing. Just high winds and freezing temps! What happened to Spring?!

Stacey, that would be super! I will let you know the status on how many will be with us when I find out. Last year we didn't have anyone, most of the parents went. I told Alicia I would try to get tickets for Blue Man Group if they are in town. Would you be up for that? Right now, we have a reservation at the Riviera (I know, yuk), but that is where the dance event is.

Afff, we stayed at the resorts we bought at, that's how we decided. We rented points in 2001 to stay at OKW, loved it and bought a resale. When BCV came along, it was a no-brainer. BC was where we stayed on our first trip to WDW, and we LOVE it there too! We have since stayed at BWV and VWL, and are very happy with where we own.

With the time change I got to see that beautiful moon going down in the west this morning.

Safe travels to everyone going on vacation this week. I'll still be here as we work our way to 5000. Speaking of that - if Karyn doesn't show up soon that number will be up for grabs.

afff, almost forgot to chime in on the DVC discussion.

We own most of our points at Boardwalk. That's what Disney was offering back when we bought in 2000. We love it as you can walk to both Epcot and MGM.

We also bought an add-on at Vero because my in-laws love it there.

I've stayed at the Villas of Wilderness Lodge and didn't care for it. We're staying at Old Key West in May and looking forward to it. We've never stayed at Beach Club but have toured them and they look great and the location is much like Boardwalk.

The DVC portion of the Disney sight has some great information on the resorts with floor plans and pictures. That should help you make up your mind.

As always don't hesitate to ask as you can see you have a number of very happy DVC members in the ranks here.

Happy Monday all! Boy was it cold here this morning!!! 30 degrees! Doesn't anyone know it's April???? At least it was dry.

As far as Hershey, I'd check when Charlotte comes back from next weekend. My general gut feel is that Springhill would be worth the additional money. I've had some bad luck with Best Westerns and Day's Inns but that's just overall experience, not Hershey specifically.

Country Inn & Suites had an indoor pool which was pretty nice. September in PA isn't outdoor swimming weather no matter how warm the pool is!

We had a beautiful full moon here. It was still really visible this morning. I was pleasantly surprised that it was still daylight driving in this morning at 6:30 even with the time change. We usually get dumped back into dark morning drives after the time change.

And Stacey, I know what you mean about not changing times and having to figure out who's on the same time as you. I lived in IN almost my entire life, and we didn't change either!

Vicki, it would be great if you and GaRry can join us at Hershey Park. Heck after all the driving GaRry's been doing, that's a walk in the park!

Found us way down in the hole again....busy off to work Monday, right?

Diana....the Riviera is okay...the slots are good there!! hehe And you have to stay close to the action! (The dance action) I am not sure if I could sit through Blue Man....might be too "out there" for me??? Friends have gone and really liked it, but they are much more of what I'd call the "younger" crowd.
What ae your dates again?

gaRry - welcome back! We missed you on the boards and in chat. Had a really wild chat group on Friday.

afff - there is a rent/trade board for DVC points right here on the DIS. I think the going rate is $10 per point, though some ask for more. Shop around. I've never rented points so can't help much on how it works, but I think it was Lisa who rented points for a Boardwalk stay before our cruise. Maybe she can give you some pointers.

Hi all!

What is up with this weather!? It's freezing cold and windy in MD today. Thankfully, no baseball practice tonight - their little fingers would be blue after a half hour outside!

Lisa - Now you've got me thinking about staying at the Best Western this weekend up in Hershey.....I only booked it for the outdoor pool and the boys wanting to swim. We've never had good luck with Best Westerns in the past, either. Maybe I should switch and try another one.

With everyone getting ready to leave this week or already gone, is it going to be super quiet here? If so.........can I throw out another DVC question?
I got the DVC link - thanks Mary! With the higher rate at Saratoga Springs, do you think it's worth it to buy in there (and have points for 50 yrs.) vs. a resale? Guess it depends on where you really want to stay - right?
The DVC is sounding better and better all the time.

Charlotte - I think the key is really where do you want to stay. Also will someone be using your points 50 years from now? When my points expire in 2042 I'll be 85. Good lord willing if I'm still here I don't know if I'll be wanting to go do WDW. We also have no kids to leave them to. So the extra years don't matter to us.

There are some good deals out there with resales because people who bought in the first years have already been reaping rewards and maybe just aren't into Disney anymore or need to sell for other reasons (death/divorce/etc).

The one thing I have learned is that the only regret most DVC owners have is not getting in sooner. When we bought our points in 2000 they were $65/point - now the going rate for the new Saratoga is $95/point

Good thing we bought in 1994, our points were much lower then AND we got free passes into all the WDW parks until 12/31/99!

Had a field trip to the DE History Museum this morning with DD. I actually learned a couple of things, imagine that?!?

It is SUPER COLD cold here and very, very windy. There should be a law against this kind of weather in April. I WANT TO GE WHERE IT'S WARM !!!!!
