We're back...DS's team won. He got hit in the head by a pitch...good thing he was wearing a helmet! He's been reluctant to swing at he ball since he got his broken nose, he's afraid of it. We keep telling him to just swing...better to go out swinging than just standing there. So I went up to him in the dugout after he got hit, and asked him that now that he's gotten hit and it didn't hurt him, what was he going to do the next time he was at bat?
His answer: "Duck?" :p :p :p

Lynda....I was thinking as I was driving today, looking for snakes, that I shouldn't call them slimy...'cause they're not. You must've been sending me vibes. I actually like the way they feel...after they're d.e.a.d.

Diana....we are less than an hour's flight away. About a five hour drive. But I never drive. It's too desolate and boring. And since I never take the kids, I wouldn't have Jordan to elbow me when I fell asleep!

Virgil, did you get my e-mail?

Back in a few to say goodnight.

Diana - don't know about the wine party - sounds great, though. Do tell all!
If I remember correctly we are each going to bring a bottle of our favorite wine or from the region we live to share with others. We really want to have it in a Cat. 1 (do you have either 1???), but will settle for it anywhere we can all fit. Some of us are being picky and like their wine with corks (ME!!!) and others don't (gaRry), and some of us have asked about snacks (me!) to be delivered by room service. Haven't picked a date or time yet, I'm sure that will come soon enough.
I'm sure you can tell we are a bunch of :jester: and  cruisers, that are just having a lot of fun getting to know each other. Some have already met, and others are going to meet very soon.

Stacey, HOORAY for DS's team!!! Glad to see that MM went away and was there for the game and the hit (OUCH!!!).

I'm off to bed now. It's late and I have been helping a friend with 'ex' problems and it's only going to get worse for him. I feel bad I can't do more to help him or his boys.

:wave2: G'night everyone.

4222!

Truth be told, jilljill....I got reprimanded by my friend because I was going over a real estate contract at the game. She took my work away from me, told me to "chill", said I was a bad mommy, and I should be watching the game! :guilty:

We have a friend who has some of those "ex" problems, too. It's hard to know what to say and do. I'm glad I never had any trouble with DD #1's dad. Never had any $$ from him, either, but to not have to deal with him was a good trade off. He didn't even go to her wedding, let alone help out with it. That's why my dad walked Megan down the aisle. He was her "Poppy". DH ran a close second.

Time for bed.

TERRIFIC TUESDAY MORNING TO ALL OUR EASTS AND MIDS, AND OTHER FRIENDS, TOO!!

Stacey

P.S. I don't think there is a regional wine for Arizona....but right here in our little town is Crazy Ed's Brewery.....he makes Chili Beer....does that count? No corkscrew, but a bottle opener.
Actually, I'm told the beer is pretty nasty tasting.
We have a wine bar just down the street from our shop, and they have a fantastic dessert wine. Guess I'll get a couple of those.

'Night,

Stacey

Darn it....still here....
You guys have got me looking at the Romance package. I'm still thinking champagne breakfast in bed with the kids wouldn't be that much fun. Oh, Caasshhh..............

Good morning everyone.

Diana, I sent you an e mail last night and this morning. I would love to do bruch with you all. It would be a great way to see each other as we are on differnt time schedules for dinning. Let me know what your thoughts are on that.

Lisa, How is DD doing? My thoughts and prayers are with you. Pixie dust is coming your way at this very moment.

Matt, have a great time with your family in Hawaii.

Stacey, I agree about the Romance package with the children around BUT I was thinking have a late breakfast and have the kids go to the kids club or teenage club if it is open early. I wonder how late they would serve the breakfast?? If it was as late at 10:00 that might work if the kids are out and doing there own thing. I am going to call DC today to find out how late they can serve breakfast. I would love to surprise DH with that. He is usually the one to set up all the romantic stuff. I would Love to surprise him.

Charlotte, We are going to WDW early. We pulled DD out of 2nd grade for 7 school days including the cruise time. We are staying off site at our Marriott time share. We will be missing the crowds as we will be there 12/14. We did this 2 years ago and it was awesome. No lines and we did Mickey's Very Merry Christmas. I think that only runs till before x-mas. You have to buy those tickets seperate. The downside is we miss New Years at WDW(bohoo) but since our children are young we thought for us this is a better way to go. DD will almost be 8 and I know she could stay up late but our D.S. who will be 3.5 will never make it. I know the rates to stay at WDW are much cheaper the week before x-mas as we looked into the prices. We used a great TA who saved us a ton of $$$$ for the Disney Cruise. I have referred a lot of people on the DIS to her. I know GaRRy used her and a few others. She also books the land part for WDW. We were lucky to get a 3 bedroom at our Marriott timeshare so we grabbed it and saved some $$$ not stay at WDW. More $$$ for the cruise. I was worried about DD missing so much school but everyone on the DIS was wonderful to convince me to go fot it and pull her out. We also got a great price on our plane tickets from NY.

I feel so blessed to have found this thread back in June of 2003. Everyone is so nice and caring. It lifts your spirits and makes your day so much nicer. I can't wait to cruise with you all.

I am not a wine drinker but if you all want me to bring local wine from the Northfork on Long Island, NY I will bring some for you all. They have vineyards about an 1.5 hours from here. We are out in the Hamptons in the summertime and would be glad to pick up a bottle for you all.

Have a great day everyone. Talk to you all later. Fondly, Gail::MinnieMo

Hi everyone,

I have been away for a few weeks due to a very hectic schedule and not enough time to read this busy thread. I have tried to skim that last 80 or so pages, lol.
I just wanted to check in and say hello. We are still around.
We leave Friday for WDW and check in the Boardwalk villas on Saturday. We will be there for a week. I thought I remembered someone else going during that time. If so please let me know. Since its the week before Easter I know the parks will be packed. We plan on having lots of R & R time hanging out by the pool! Can't wait, we definately need it.

Take care,

Tina

Good morning everyone!

Gail - here is the thread that talks about the Romance at Sea package Romance at Sea

She put up some pictures about 1/2 way down the first page. The times for breakfast are 8:00-8:30, 8:30-9:00, 9:00-9:30 and 9:30-10:00. A number of people on the thread said that they just picked a lot of different food and shared it with their kids as part of the celebration. Something to think about.

Charlotte - If you have never been to Disney at holiday time then by all means do it before we sail. The parks are decorated and you can see the Candlelight Processional, get tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, just so many fun things. I've always wanted to try New Years Eve at WDW - sounds like it would be great fun, but I don't think I'd like the crowds.

Oh well - off to read the rest of the boards and then off to work! Check back with everyone later. Have a great day!

Good Tuesday Morning Everyone.

Matt - hope you have a great time in Hawaii. We loved it when we went in December.

For everyone else going on vacation in the next couple of weeks, I hope you have a great time.

Stacey - here's a trade proposition for you. I have this huge black suitcase(which DH won't let me use anymore because I pack it so heavy) and maybe you could fit in there. You just need to fly yourself to Iowa, but watch out for the snow we are suppose to get:eek:, and we will see if you fit. In trade I will take the free hotel stay you have in Vegas:p to use when we go this summer. Oh wait, I have a free place to stay - it's called Mom & Dad's spare room. It's sad but Vegas isn't much of a vacation for us. Been there, done that. We still like to go though. DH and I love all the restaurants. It's funny how Vegas has changed over the last 15 years. It use to be all cheap places to eat, but now it is all 5 star restaurants. When I just take the girls we stay at Mom & Dad's, but when DH and I go we like to stay downtown.

Linda - welcome back.

Virgil - I know what you mean about having to work lots of hours. I always have to laugh at DH when he says I won't be busy next week before we leave because I have scheduled a light week. Riiiiiiiiiiiiggghht!!!! He usually ends up working 14-18 hours a day before we go. Then he is so tired it takes him a couple of days to catch up. But I can't complain to much, his working so much is what pays for all of our trips. :teeth:

Diana - got you email and I sent one back.

Everyone have a good day. Speaking of snow. Guess what it is doing outside. At least it shouldn't stick.:umbrella: The weather this time of year is :yo-yo: .

:hyper: But I'm thinking of Lynda's idea of the pampered, glazed look instead of the bunions. ::yes:: Just book it - don't think about it, that's what I did. Then afterwards I thought about what I had just done.
Does anyone know if DCL has released any info on the formal nights or themed dinners? I need about which night to schedule Palo and I want to figure out hich dinner to miss. Plus, I would like to know a bit about what will be going on in the WD theatre each night. I know that DD will not want to miss any of the good shows.

LeiLani, sorry to hear about your S***, even if it doesn't stick.

Stacey, sending you a PM.

Mary, Thanks for the DIS thread link on the Romance package. It convinced me to go for it. I am calling them this morning.:earsgirl:
Gail

Gail - yeah! We'll all be so relaxed and pampered. We'll be the envy of the rest of the ship. Of course we'll be that anyway because we'll be traveling with friends!

Lynda, how big is your stateroom?!? Sounds like Cash may be having a HUGE sleepover with all his new children friends while their parents have champagne breakfast in bed. :teeth:
But at least no one will have those nasty bunions from standing in line the first day. ::yes::

JillJill, what a great idea. I wonder how Linda and Cash would feel about having all those children??????? My children LOVE animals. We have a lab, 2 guini pigs and fish. Have a great day.
Talk to you all later. Gail:earsgirl:

 There goes all of Cash's good training...right off the verandah! What's the kid count so far?? Five? I know mine could teach him a few bad habits.......:p

LeiLani....It would have to be one BIG suitcase...have you seen my picture? :earseek:

It's late....gotta run to work....back later. MUCH later....full day today.

Stacey

P.S. Gail, You are SOOOO right! Great people!

Morning all. Well, you might have to add Jamie to that kid list. I'm just about convinced into the Romance package, especially after looking at the wonderful pictures! Gosh, I want to get on that ship.

About the wine......we are like Gail and don't drink the wine. And, you know, I am just not sure that Utah even has a "special wine". Well, I take that back. Utah's special wine is Diet Coke. I wonder if we are the Diet Coke capital of the world?

Anyway, I'll do some checking. I know some wine drinkers here at my office and believe me, they are experts on the subject!

Okay, off to work I go!

Linda

Maui, one week away! Too bad we can't meet up with Matt and his family!

Gail,

no need for you to pick up Long Island wines. We have over a hundred bottles of some of the best L.I. wines over the last 5 - 6 years. I will supply you with a few bottles before the cruise.

- David

Morning Christmas cruisers!

Lisa - Sorry to read about your DD - is she doing better?

jilljill - thanks for the wine party info! No, we don't have the Cat. 1 cabins!

White wine lovers - have you tried Cakebread Chardonnay? To die for....but pricey. May have to bring a bottle or two - it's my current favorite.

LeiLani - You're going to be in a Cat.1 for Easter - wow! Is it the Walt or Roy suite?

Gail/Mary - Thanks for the tips on the festivities the week before Christmas. I think we'll probably go before. At least I know the pressure will be off to get the character's autographs at the park since so many will be on the cruise. Gail, can you email me the name of the TA you mentioned.

Have great days everyone!

- Charlotte

Thanks David.

Let me know when it is a good time for all of us to meet.

Have a great day. Gail
