Matt - sounds like the move will be a good thing - congrats.

Dancind - glad you stopped in! It is hard to play catch up. Try to stop in from time to time - we love hearing from you!

Linda - I heard that the Magic once turned around in St. Thomas and went back to get parents that missed the boat while their child was in the club. Don't know if they got fined or not.

I bet that wouldn't be the first time parents missed the boat. I wonder what it cost them?

It would be interesting to find out.

Not sure what the cost is but I remember reading at the time that the only reason the ship turned around was because of the child in the club. If they had been on their own they would have been out of luck!

We have left DD in the club/lab in almost every port on all 4 cruises. She did not have any desire to get off the ship. We did tell the counselors we were leaving the ship and an approximate amount of time that we would be gone. They did not have a problem with that.

Thanks everyone for your responses re: children in kids club.

If pagers don't work off the ship then perhaps 2 way radios might if you're close enough to the ship.

We were on a Carnival Cruise once........we heard someone missed the boat ( with no kids ).
The boat did not turn around. The people who missed the boat had to fly to the next island.
I'm assuming that Carnival did not pay for the flight.

Just a really quick hello...just got home from work and we have dance class & a baseball game to go to. And it's hot. 80 something. At least it's a night game, Saturday will be a bear.
Anyway, as for the San Juan thing...I still have it printed out. It was on DCL's official website dated 11-16-2003....San Juan wasn't listed under the itinerary, i.e. Sat Port Canaveral, Sun Key West, etc. But it was under the description of the cruise and reads like this:
10-Night Caribbean Cruise
Sailing to Key West, San Juan, St. Maarten, St. Lucia, Antigua, St. Thomas and CASTAWAY CAY on 12/18/04
Probably just a typo.

Our DD will be 14 1/2 in December, and our son will be 11 1/2. It's not a secret...we've all been planning. Send me a PM if you have a son or daughter the same age...mine don't e-mail often, but it would make them feel a whole lot more involved, and be nice to have friends ahead of time!!

Gotta run.....hopefully back tonight to help the numbers.
