20040131 ~ Cruising Jan 31 2004 Western Who's with us?

OOOOOOOooooooo, I know, I know - pick me, pick me! Departure time from Grand Cayman is 5:30 PM, local. So, when is the big surprise day for Jill? Matt has promised to email her a welcome aboard.

No bad Walmart comments from me, grandma_x2. It's like my home away from home because you can always find my wife there looking for the great bargains.

Wow, all of these attractive ladies talking about getting all decked out for a formal picture. Might even remove the frown from a "Grumpy" old man!

Nice to see you back, Jedokids, we've missed you. We started an inventory last nite of what we have and what we need yet so we'll be working on that this weekend. Just three weeks from today and I'll be in Orlando ready to enjoy.

You know, I was just thinking(and I think I hurt myself) that maybe , if enough people were staying near the Orlando Airport Friday night, we could have a pre-cruise DIS meet!!!:hyper: Maybe in a hotel lounge or something. I think we're staying at the Comfort Inn Suites, is that right Ann? I think some of us are staying or near WDW. Where is everyone staying Friday night is what I'm asking. OK!?!? I think I confused myself!!!

HADD!!! :wave2:

Rambin' Guy, oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, ohhh nooooo!!!!

Congrats on the tag, Dean!!!

Hyatt at the airport for us. Get in around 6-6:30 and headed for the pool or the lounge, whichever is closest. Hmmmm, which one?

Almost as good as a kiss and a promise:
We would like to take a moment to advise you that we have sent your travel documents via Regular Mail on 01/08/2004.

I think we'll be staying somewhere at WDW. Maybe, if I can work it out at AKL, but probably not! We're going out a few days early - first night in Tampa w/ friends then 2 nights at WDW. Got to get some more use out of those annual passes.

Surprise day for Jill is Friday or Saturday. I'll let you know!

Ok, departure from Grand Cayman at 5:30 last tender out 4:30 - can't risk the afternoon Stingray City w/ Capt. Marvins. We'll be doing the morning 1/2 day trip.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I love Walmart, but I there isn't one very close to me. And there are no more Came-Aparts near us either. I tend to shop at Target instead! It was a joke! I certainly don't shop at places like "Needless Markup"!

Karyn

Dean!!!! Regular mail???? From where??? How long is that going to take? What's up with that? Well, at least they are on their way to you!

Karyn

I'm at the Hyatt too, we'll be there as of 10am or so, warming up the bar stools for Dean and his wife!!

Ya know...I'll never badmouth WalMart, or Target, or any discount place!! My mom works at Macy's, in the kids dept, so my kids are always in the latest stuff, but I get all MY stuff at Target, with WalMart being second in line for my shopping trips! They have some NICE stuff, and I personally love the brands there...I for some reason have a jammie and a swimsuit fetish - I could never have enough of either - and let me tell you, WalMart has the best "fun" selection of comfy but cute jammies!

...

*watches everyone laugh their butts off at her*

I talked to my mother-in-law about the whole dressing up thing - as a TA and major cruise veteran, she was HORRIFIED at the responses like "it's my vacation.." - and she said that other than the RCCL she has NEVER seen a cruise ship that does not enforce the dress codes to some extent. She guesses it's because of the # of little kids. Ah well, I'm getting dolled up and like jedokids, this is MY prom (never went - had total facial reconstruction surgery fall of senior year in high school - talk about high school angst!) And THIS time I have a very handsome date to show off! Whoo hoo!

*shiver*

It's hard to breathe out there, why'd you guys have to share your snow and cold with me!! *sob*

*reads Dean's latest post*

I HATE YOU!! *pout*

I'll be outside for awhile, waiting on the pony expressman. So, do you think he will be able to recognize me?

We are driving(uhh) to Orlando on the 28th and will stay at the Polynesian the 29th & 30th . Will be up early and headed for the Magic on the 31st:cool1:

I will have to check out the pjs at Walmart. I love Target and get so many things there including cute pjs. But, Nikki if you are saying that you shop at both, and Walmart has cool pjs, then I have to check them out. Target happens to be the closest to my house, so I end up there much more. I have a pj thing too. If it was socially acceptable, I would were nothing but pjs! :earseek: I even have a black velour set that would be divine for Formal night. What can I say... except, I don't get out much!

LOL @ Dean...they'll find you...of course now my poor MIL will get tortured by me to find out about my docs - "But MAAAA...DEAN is getting HIS!!!"

Airbusdrvr - North Carolina to Orlando isn't TOO bad, is it? We did it with a 1 and 3 yr old, Mass to Orlando is like 22 hours...and DH used to do it all the time when he went to culinary school in RI and his parents still lived in Orlando. That's where he spent HIS high school years, living in Orlando and working for Disney...so he got to spend many a teenage night hanging out in the parks. SO not fair!

Kim, too funny, Glenn thinks I'm SO weird cause I have like three drawers of different pjs! *grin* Now to decide which to PACK! (Oh, and I've passed down this illness to DD...MWAHAHAHA!)

:teeth:

OK. I think the next goal is making it to 100 Pages!!! Do-able!!!!

PJs? What are PJs? I don't need no steeking PJs!!!!

Airbusdrvr, are you new to this thread? If so, welcome!!! Hey, Dean, please e-mail me the latest roll call. I'll PM you my e-mail address if you don't have it. Congrats on your docs being on the way!

Good morning to all!
Karyn,
I had a dream last night that I missed the ship because of taking the afternoon boat, so... I guess that means I get to do the hurry up and eat, tender, and hope I have my stuff together dance! It's worth it though to go play with my slippery:jumping2:
hungry  loveable rays! I can almost feel that warm water around me now! I love that feeling when you first get in the water and it feels so good:Pinkbounc I hate to get out... oh well, I don't want any more wrinkles than I have already:rotfl: .
Take care all, talk to you soon!:chat: :wave2: Renae

Oooh, auntrenae, that sounds so very very nice in the face of this cold...nice warm water...I can hardly believe it is so close! I still think you're totally nuts for getting into the water with those rays...just the thought TOTALLY creeps me out, which is such a disappointment to the kids, but tough, they can wait till they get older and go on their own! You're FAR braver than I! :)

Gary, airbusdrvr is (I believe) the one from the "other" board, where Dean got yelled at for inviting him to come here?

Gary, I've cleaned out my mailbox so I do not have your address any longer. I had planned on posting the list here after lunch anyway but had a couple of updates to include. And, since I was just hanging out listening to some head-banging music, I hadn't added them yet.

Dean - nice lime green hat for Grumpy. Do they call that a "toque" in Canada?

Judi and I will be at BoardWalk Villas for Wed, Thurs, Friday nights.

Still no docs. Still Winter here - car said 15 F when I was driving about 11:00 AM.

I'll reevaluate the post count / potential at the end of the day. We're doing really well this week, but I have to factor in a slow down the week prior to the cruise, as some people will be in transit or at hotels and likely won't check in as often.

I talked to our friend Jeannie this morning. She is wearing a long dressy dress for Formal and John will be told to wear a black suit.

Another question to ask on board - perhaps the head server: "What do they do with the ice carvings after they melt?"

Have a great day all.

Kim, I'm thinking that they should have a pj night instead of formal night! No one would complain, and Gary could come au-natural! I'm not big on pjs but, I'm liking the idea.

Nikki! Stingrays are our friends! Last Western, it was the best thing I experienced ( well there was this massage . . .) I loved it!Next Christmas the Dolphin Encounter on Anguilla!

Looking forward to snorkeling w/ you, Renae!

PJ night sounds like fun, don't the kids get a "sleepover" of sorts like that? Ya know, at my kids school they are doing a week of fun stuff next week - one day is "crazy hair day", one day is "career day" where they dress in what they want to be, one day (Friday) is pj day, where they go to school in their pjs and can change into slippers at school for the whole day.

We should have pj night! All of us change into pjs and go to the clubs.

..

No wait. Someone might think we don't get out much... :teeth:

Karyn, I'm a definite victim of the Jaws generation - that movie scarred me for life, I'm afraid, and to this day if it doesn't have a concrete bottom, I'm scared to death!! I'm a wimp. *grin* The funny part? DD is SO into horror movies so I had her watch it, with her friends at a sleepover. You'd have thought it was a comedy, they laughed so hard and told me I was silly to be scared by it!

*looks sheepish*

Ah well...youth these days...who knew...
