2003 Western

Yup - We are!!!!!!! Wish it was this December though :(

Hey - I just noticed we will be arriving 1 hour before you according to our countdown timers LOL!! Will save a place in line for ya.

Just booked myself, my DH, DS-14 & DD-12 1/2
Never booked this far in advance before...waiting for next December is going to be torture!

Just a question - who did you all book with? We did with DCL, but are thinking of switching ressies to AAA for the mugs, or DU for the stateroom credit.

It is great to have a chance to talk to others about the same cruise.

I booked through a friend who is a TA and she got us a much better deal then I seemed to find. However, now I see that there were and are other benefits. I trust this TA though and she is an expert cruiser so I trust her judgement.

I will be booking my own accommodations and flights though and will be watching for deals.

I can see I will learn alot from others and won't be a rooke for long. LOL By the time our DL trip comes around I should know a little more, so I can hope.:jester:

We are going to leave our home town the Wednesday before and will fly out from Vancouver, BC to Orlando on the Thursday and spend the day at WDW on Friday and then move on to the cruise.

Will you "fellow travelers" be spending time in WDW before you go on the cruise?

Do you know your cabin number?

We are going to be flying into MCO on Wednesday PM (late flight after work). Rent a car and drive to WDW. We are planning (yes, we have planned it already LOL) on spending Thursday at MGM (gotta get that TOT and RRC in and see the new parade) then will be going to the MVMCP at MK Thursday night. Friday- all day at Epcot, ending up with the CP/Illuminations. We absolutely LOVE EPCOT during the holidays with all the different Santas/traditions they have and the beautiful snowflake arches at night. We figure we will do MK at the Party, sleep a little late Friday Morn, and spend all day at Epcot. Get up Saturday, have breakfast at Chef Mickey's and off to the MAGIC!!!!! Not too obsessive in the planning huh?

So....I just booked my own trip. Hoping for some sort of agent rate to come out.
We are coming in on Friday, probably staying at the Yacht Club.
Did not give any thought yet as to which park we'll do. I'll probably leave that up to DH since he hasn't been to WDW in a while. We are staying another night at the end of the cruise also.
Anybody have any children going? If so, what are their ages?
:p

LOVETHATMOUSE,
Read your profile and noticed that you are a CM. Which DS are you at? When I worked as a CM at the Travel Desk @ the Disney Store in Warwick RI, we had another Travel Desk at the DS on 5th Avenue in Manhattan.

It is great that you have done so much planning. Planning is good! :D

What is TOT and RRC?

We are wanting to see fireworks as well. This is our first time to WDW so I am not sure what are exact plans are. There is so much to do and absorb so I will look at it over the next year.

I have read that there is fireworks over the castle too and that we should watch for tinkerbelle? Is that correct?

I have heard alot about Chef Mickey's, what is that?

We have a ds who will be 6 and will turn 7 on the ship and we have a dd who will be 4.

cndncruzin,
TOT is the Tower of Terror and RCC is Rock N Roller Coaster.
Both are at Disney-MGM Studios.
Chef Mickey's is a restaurant in the Contemporary Resort that has character breakfasts and dinners. They are set up buffet-style.

I just got back Nov. 14 from 4 day on Wonder and my husband said to "book it" for Dec. 6. 2003 7 night. WOOO HOOOO!
Now my sister is trying to swing it. See ya on the cruise.

cndncruiz - We have done the eastern (last March). I bet your dd and my ds will be in the same club. She will be turning 8 a short while before we cruise, so she can go with the 7 year olds or the 8. She loved the activites last time (the few that she did), and doesn't seem too thrilled with the 8 year old activites - she loves the characters and they don;t appear as often in the 8 year old group. We are also cruising with friends who have a dd younger than her, so they might want to be in the same club.

Chef Mickey's is awesome!! My dd loves it. The morning of Epcot we will try and book the Princess breakfast at Norway. This way we get to do our fav things in such little time.

The fireworks are awesome and we always stand right under tinkerbells path as she flies off the castle. Found the perfect spot to see her!

I think somewhere I read that if a certain # of cabins are booked through DU, then every cabin they book gets a stateroom gift. Wonder what it is?

LOVETHATMOUSE,
8 staterooms qualify for a group amenity. Right now it is a Mickey Memory Box. It is a cardboard box with some postcards and a frame. It is cute. You can also purchase it before your cruise and they will deliver it to your stateroom. I had a group on the Nov 3 Wonder and they chose that option.

Have any of you figured out which excursions you would like to go on, while on the Magic?

LOVETHATMOUSE... What time do the fireworks usually start?
my ds will be seven is it your ds that will be turning 8? My dd will be four on the trip.

Where do you guys like to stay, what resort?

cndncruiz - I am not sure about the MK fireworks. I know they will be doing them at the MVMCP, but now they do not do them everynight since things have been tight - Anyone, please correct me if I am wrong, but I think they just do them on the weekends, although that might have changed.(I think).

I only have one child - dd, although all the boys in her class love her, maybe your ds will too LOL!

We love the Wilderness Lodge, but probably will stay at our other love - Riverside (formerly Dixie Landings), so we can save a few dollars. We have stayed at Wildnerness Lodge at Christmas time and it is TO DIE FOR!!!! If we can save up a little more $$, then I will switch ressie to there.

We also love the Grand Floridian - we honeymooned there and they upgraded us to a one bedroom suite! We haven't stayed there again because I don't want to be dissapointed after such a grand stay. We still go there and sit in the lobby with coffee, and listen to the band when it plays, (has been awhile though).

Any hotel you choose will be great. They are all well-themed, you just have to pick what you like. If you need help, buy all means pm me and I will. :)

OOPPS - forgot to answer your other question. We are booking the dolphin swim, but not through DCL. We emailed the place directly (DCL only offers the encounters - we want to swim with them). This is in Cozumel. Nothing else booked, but will possibly book the Sting Ray Swim in Grand Cayman. I can always shop (and believe me I will do my share of damage in each port), but how often can you swim with one of the most beautiful creatures in the water (dolphins).
