What value do 20 year old tickets have? Are they still good or do they pro-rate them?

Wow, that's a great question! I would call them and find out! We'd all like to know.

You probably have to go to guest relations, as the ticket was purchased for MK only, and never expiring - they would honor that! I believe they give you the value of the ticket when it was purchased - so you would be better off using it for MK!!

You are better off saving it as a keepsake. The price of your pass from 20 years ago was probably under $20. If you save it, you have collectible worth far more to a Disneyphile than it will be worth toward a new ticket.

Allearsnet.com just did a piece on this in their weekly newsletter. You can still use the ticket if it hasn't been used.

More than likely they would give you a new ticket. If you had 2 days they would give you two days on the new ticket.

20 years ago. Tickets were cardboard with blanks where the date(s) of usage were stamped. They were good for Magic Kingdom and Epcot, with hopping. I think a 3 day ticket cost about sixty dollars.

One of those tickets would probably be exchanged for a new MYW ticket with the same number of days remaining, with hopping, and with non-expiration. Using the ticket on a 5 to 10 day vacation where additional MYW tickets are purchased and used is highly not recommended.

Traded up towards an MYW ticket with more days, only the pro-rated dollar value of the original purchase price is credited to you. This alternative is also highly not recommended.

It is not Disney's policy to return old tickets as souvenirs when you do a trade-up but sometimes the CM will oblige. But you might not want the ugly black "VOID" stamped on the old ticket.

Saving it as a souvenir, or selling it to someone who wants to save it as a souvenir is probably the best choice.

You can exchange your 1986 ticket at any Guest Relations location. If your ticket(s) was a one day ticket, you will get a one day base MYW ticket in exchange. If your ticket was a multiday World Passport, you will get the same number of remaining unused park days on a MYW park hopper ticket with no expiration. Either way, there is no charge for doing this.

Using these tickets for anything else like upgrading would not be in your best financial interest.
