I guess I'll have my brother in Tampa buy me a lottery ticket!

or

Is this for residents only?

Lou

I doubt if it's just for residents. Universal doesn't care where you live when you buy an AP. Disney has FL resident only AP's that are cheaper than the regular passes. But you must be a resident (proof of residency is required) in order to get those.

Went on Universal's site and all it asks for before purchasing, is the code from the back of the lottery ticket, so I don't think you need to be a Florida resident.

I might be getting one (if I don't get a preferred pass) at the gate when we go back next week, so I'll let you know.

Not sure if i'm allowed to ask this, please remove if so

Are there any Floridians who buy the fantasy5 ticket and would be able to give me a code so I could get the discount off the Universal website?
the site asks for the florida5 promotional code

It would save me $20 per ticket and there are 7 of us visiting from the UK

Anyone done this yet? We are thinking about it. The fine print at the bottom says each person can get 4 tickets. Does that mean 4 tickets per lottery ticket, or do I have to buy 4 lottery tickets to get 4 tickets? If anyone knows, let me know.

Looking at the fine print I take it to mean you can buy 4 discounted tickets with one code. But then when I looked at the fine print it says must be activated by 4th Sept, which means I couldnt use it in my Oct trip :confused3

I just purchased 4 tickets using the code from one lottery ticket. I am from MA and had no problem using the ticket code. Davehaj.

Anyone know if you have to activate the pass by a certain date after it is purchased? Or if it automatically activates on a certain date? Some promos have come with that stipulation, not sure about this one. Thanks.

I just called and they said you have to use by September 4th or the pass becomes voided. My trip isn't until October so guess I'm out of luck :confused3

I just called and they said it would automatically activate on 9/4 ........ vastly different from pass becoming void. If anyone is saying that, its huge, you would want to know that before purchasing. It seems like automatic activation would be so much more fair that its hard to believe the null and void thing w/o specifically mentioning that on the sites that contain the promo.

So if i activate it after the 4th September everything should be okay??

You will receive a pass in the mail to enter the gates and get your picture taken for the Power Pass. It won't be voided after Sept.4. You power pass will expire on Sept.4, 2006 though.

Hi,

I would really like to take advantage of this deal. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get a ticket. I am not going to Florida until Thanksgiving week and that is when I wanted to start using the pass. Any info would be great! :teeth:

I'm not sure it would be such a good deal for you. You only save $20 and your AP would expire on Sept. 4th, 2006 so you would lose almost 3 months on your annual pass.

The Power pass cost $119. 95. With the discount it would cost $99.95 but you would lose almost 1/4 of the year since you won't be there until Thanksgiving.

1/4 of $120 is $30. So you have essentially lost $30 to get a $20 discount.

Thanks! We are going to spend a day there before our cruise in April. So we would use it then. Let me know what you think is the best route for us. :rotfl:

Pesonally I'd wait until it got closer to see what deals they have. Each year they offer different specials like: free child's tickets with the purchase of one adult, 2 year annual pass for the price of one year, 5 passes for the price of 4 passes, 5 days for the price of 2 days, etc. Most of the time they have several great deals going at the same time. The best deals start showing up right after the summer holidays.

I'm not crazy about the Power Pass because of blackout days. You might end up with black out days when you go in April. Here are the black out dates:
Summer Weekdays 2005: June 27- July 1, July 4-8, 11-15, 18-22, 25-29, August 1-5
Christmas 2005: December 23, 2005 - January 1, 2006
Easter/Spring Break 2006: April 10 - 14, April 15 (9:00 am - 5:00 pm)
