Ugh, I wish I hadn't seen this thread and checked numbers. It would only be a $50 difference to switch from WL to Poly using this discount on Orbitz!! Now I don't know what to do.

I stayed at the Poly once when I was 4 and hated it (nothing against the resort itself, but I was 4 and just wanted to be at the parks all day, so my young brain came to associate 'Poly' with 'boring', lol), so I've never even considered staying there, but just looked at some of the refurbed rooms and my 33 year old self loves it! The WL is beautiful, too, and I think we'll really love it there, but of course Poly has the monorail which might be a lifesaver with my 18 month old.

I'll probably just stick with WL and then as soon as this code expires I'll change my mind. :faint:

For what it's worth, we went to the Polynesian for dinner during our September stay. It's a "must do" for us and we go at least annually. With all of the construction going on at the Poly, with so many partitions up, with all of the chaos related to the refurb, it was very unenjoyable. It wasn't pretty, it didn't feel special, it made me sad. The ambiance that we usually feel there was no where to be found.
Hope this makes you feel better.

Well that definitely does make a difference, thank you! I forgot about the crazy construction. I'm sorry your dinner there was less than you had hoped for!

I really think my dh and 5 year old will enjoy WL better anyway, and it seems perfect for a post-holiday trip, so I'm thinking if we go back in a couple of years I can try and snag a good deal on the Polynesian then. Thanks for the info!! :)

You do have to pay up front, but if you go through PayPal credit, you'll have 6 months interest free to pay it back.

I took the plunge - and booked our hotel for our March stay. I'm excited to save over $400 more. :cool1: Hope it all goes smoothly!! Thanks OP for posting the code!!

So - now I need to cancel my reservation I made with Disney, but I think I should link my new reservation to MDE before I cancel the other reservation. The confirmation has a 6 digit "Hotel confirmation number" . Is that the number I put in MDE?

May try this for next stay but afraid to loose the disabled room with a roll in shower with only one available. At least we saved quite a bit with Florida resident room only.

Yes - usually a combination of letters and numbers.

Glad to see the percentages-off going up a bit. I plan to book through Orbitz/CT for Easter week as soon as they allow booking past March 31 with a promo code.

You can link to MDE as soon as you get your email confirmation, which for me was instantly.

Disadvantages include having to pay in full right at booking. Also you can't book kids online because their system charges extra (even though kids are free to stay in room). Again, the many threads on here explained what to do -- just call Orbitz after booking and add the kids for no charge.

Many people say you need to make room requests on the phone with Orbitz, but after linking my reservation and getting everything else set up (calling to add ME, making my ADR's and FP's...), I called Disney and they called up my reservation and added my room requests. Just to double-check, I again called Disney about 2 weeks before our trip and asked if they had our room requests noted, and they read me back exactly what I had requested.

I was hesitant too last Easter when I booked through them. I made a search on here for "Orbitz" and read many threads about people booking through them which is what helped give me the courage to give them a try. I'm glad I did because I otherwise wouldn't have received a deal for Easter week last year.

Do you know when booking past 3/31 might show up? Before the 16th?

Thank you to everyone for patiently answering my questions! I just cancelled my original reservation, and tried to confirm the new one with Disney on the phone and they can't see my reservation. But MDE must be able to see it - because I can see the Orbitz address when I went to select the Magic Bands. I updated the address to my correct address.

I'd like to make some room requests. How soon will it show up in Disney reservations? Is it best to call the hotel directly?

Thanks again - Disney trip planning has gotten more complicated since my last trip....

Is there a way to get notifications when they have disney discounts?

Thanks to OP for sharing this!! Just saved about $300 off our stay at WL in early Feb!! Now I need to call and add the kiddos from what I'm reading.

Yep- 6 digits is correct

From Orbitz you mean?

Orbitz prices will usually reflect Disney's current public discounted prices. We're not sure if it happens the exact day Disney releases them, but it seems to be pretty close to that.

Promo codes are a little trickier- you have to actively keep up with those on a site like retailmenot, or mousesavers.

Just sign up for an Orbitz account. You will receive email notifications of sales and promo codes, as well as be able to earn points that can be used toward future bookings.

Wow! How'd you manage that?
I just booked ASmu for 149.00 with 20% off

It was a standard view room, in January (value season), and staying Sunday-Wednesday so no extra weekend night charges. But even the weekend nights were around $180!

Have fun at ASmu! I love the pool there! :goodvibes

Just happened to also notice that Orbitz has a vacations package promo for $150 off $1000 hotel + flight. While the 20% will result in a bigger discount for most situations I did find that if booking a value resort for a week or less it actually saved another $40 or so, assuming that the flights on Orbitz were the same as elsewhere. Again this is a big YMMV depending on your situation. I didn't book but was just pricing things out comparing a weeks stay at a value resort. I have also seen larger discounts up to as much as $250 off $1000 on some of the sites like Orbitz or Travelocity but have never thought to try them on a Disney vacation.

I booked yesterday and although Orbitz outtahere code has said to expired yesterday it's still working now for anyone still interested.
