$20 off $20 at Sam'sClub.com Amex Offer

This looks like a great offer that I might want to use if they offer it again in the future.
I am confused, however, about how they figure the $20 off: It's $20 off a $20 purchase, but certainly not $40 off a $40 purchase? Is it $20 off for every $50 spent? And is there a limit?
It's one offer per card that you selected the offer for and it's $20 a minimum purchase of $20.

between the groupon last week and the Amex offer this week.....:cool1: Between DH and myself we have 4 cards- all 4 have the offer on them- Last week we bought a groupon special, pay $45, get a $20 gift card instantly, plus $22 in coupons for food to use (free food!) So I bought that, went in the store and got the member card, used one of the food coupons, bought gas at their station and used the GC for that($20) then later, went online and ordered 2 $50 Mastercard gift cards. ($52.38 each-used 2 Amex cards per purchase,4 total)
so I spent $45,plus the 2 GC @ 104.76 = 149.76 - $20-$22 -80= 27.76 for $100 worth of Giftcards and a years membership.....:cool1: It's nice to be paid to take some money....

Which cards do you have? I have the preferred cash, but with the great offers lately, I may have to open a second . . .

Does anyone know if you can still get a credit for the offers if you add it to your card AFTER you made the purchase? I feel like SUCH an idiot. I never in a million years would have thought that the website Jetsetter would have been on the card as an offer (I've never even heard of it until today when I booked!). I was looking at my statement immediately after just to be sure the charge went through and there it was, a $20 offer. :(

Thanks for the explanation.
I don't have an Amex or a Bluebird, would it be worth it to start a Bluebird account just to get these type of offers? (I am a Sam's Club member.)

It can't hurt. My bluebird doesn't have a ton of offers, but this one I could have gotten (didn't realize it until too late). Also, last year bluebird was eligible for the 3 $10 Small Business Saturday credits.

My gift card shipped but I don't see the charge or credit on my Amex. The charge had been pending but it has totally disappeared???

be aware that if you have one amex card, say and spg,or everyday,or whatever, and your spouse also has a card on that account (shared account) you need to check BOTH accounts (my spouse has their own login, number, etc for their authorized user card) for the offer... get it? 2 offers, same account, 2 cards.... (there are times when one card has the offer, and spouses doesn't but check it to be sure) I am new to sams club so note sure what debit card can be used.... can I use Serve or Bluebird at Sams to pay?

Ooh, good tip thanks! My DH is an authorized user on my card but I don't think we have a created a login for him, so it never occurred to me to check and see if he has his own offers.

I'm an authorized user on my DH's card. It won't let me create another online login for my card. I can see my card activity through his login.

I want to make sure I understand the deal. I have a Platinum card and my wife has a Supp card. We can both take part of the $20 off $20 or is just 1 discount per Basic Account?

Thanks

You have to both log into your Amex account online & see if the offer is available to your cards. If it shows when each of you login in then yes.

Just wanted to come back (even though nobody responded lol) that you CAN still get the credit if you apply for the offer AFTER the purchase.

My Jetsetter $20 credit went through! Woo hoo!
