My husband and I are considering going to Disney in October. Our daughter will be just over two when we go. Is it worth going with kids this age or should we wait to splurge when she is older? Will it be worth the hassle? Any advice/comments?

We took our DD when she was 22 months and again at 35 months, she had a great time both trips and still talks about both trips!

I would go, but then again I'm working on another trip this spring - the baby will be 10 months old then!

wow that must be preety hard keeping up with those babies!!! You must be a pretty cool mom to take your kids that many times!!

i am only 12 and i have went twice when i was 8 and 10
those where the best times of my life

personally i think WDW is a great place to take little kids because it is something they wont forget for the rest of their lifes

Yes it is worth it. Our three have each been once before they were 3. They had a great time. We had a great time. They did remember the trips when they looked at the pictures even 6 months latter. Another plus is at 2 they didn't need a park ticket (I think still the case). We went back for a nap most afternoons, and out to dinner each night. It was nice to go for an adult meal, where children were actully welcome. If you go enjoy!

Yes it is worth it!

We took our DS for the first time when he was only 9 months old & he loved it!!

Now his second trip will be this April at 21 months! I can't wait to see his expression & share the magic with him again.

We took my son @ 18 months & got his first haircut there & I'm taking him again this March (he'll be 2.5 years old). He had a great time. Lots of smiles. He loves looking @ the pictures I have on the computer from our trip & when asked if he wants to go to Disney World he says, "YES!!! Buzz, Woody, Zurg, Mouse, Duck, Goofy, Mike, Sulley..." etc. It's fun seeing it all again for the first time through his eyes.

It's VERY worth it!!! My DS was 2 years and 3 months when we went and we splurged and had a great time! I wouldn't have changed a thing!!!!!

We are going back in May!!! YIPPEE

I am going to post a picture that will completely sum up all our feelings for taking our 20 month old daughter. There is so much magic at that age, everything is so real to them, it's truly a delight to see it all unfold. She still remembers most of it, but to me, it's all about this pic.

Its worth it especially since kids under 3 are free when doing the parks and buffets! My dad and I took my just 2 yr old last year and he had a blast. We did MGM the first day, MK the next day, and split between AK and EP the next day, with Cirque that night. On check out morning we did Chef Mickeys. We stayed at CR but only went back for a lunch break on one day. Normally he would just fall asleep in the stroller for an hour or so. Before the trip, my son had no fears, but after the 3d movies, and Haunted Mansion, he was afraid of the dark for a few months. We didnt do many rides/shows because 1. it was crowded, and 2. theres only so much you can do with a 2 yr old. We did many rides 2-3 times though. He loved the Indy Cars, carousel, Dumbo, Small World, and the train. We never did get around to Toontown. I got him the Sing Along videos with live characters, and the planning guide for him to watch before we went because he was afraid of Santa. This way he was prepared for some of the characters. The ones that were in the video. he did fine meeting, but if they werent in the video, then he was scared. While there, I took a video and lots of pictures, which he looked at up until the time of our next trip right after New Years (and almost 3). Over that year, he constantly asked about going back to the castle or to see Mickey Mouse. When he saw the comercials on tv, he went nuts. This trip, he knew where we were when we passed DTD on the interstate! He remembered a lot from the previous trip and we did a lot more rides this time, some several times. Take advantage of FP, bring along plenty of snack, water, sunscreen, hat, bubbles (for line waiting), supplies for the little one too. Take lots of pictures too! We did an autograph book and I made small pictures of him and the character, then glued it in with the autograph so he knew who was who. Be sure to ride up front in the monorail, and ask for a pilots license for the scrapbook (the train in MK also has something similar). Have a great time and remember the trip is about your child!

We're going in October too. Me, DW, DD10, DS2 (actually DD is 9 right now and DS is 1 1/2 now. But they'll both have a bday before the trip) DS's bday is July 4th so he'll be a little over 2 as well. I am sure he'll love it. He obviously has no clue what Disnet is or means but I know his little eyes are gonna light up as soon as we get in the park. :)

When are you going in October? Where are you staying? We'll be there the 15th through the 22nd at the Caribbean Beach Resort.
