2 WI Adults Spring Break @ Disney A Mar '12 PTR *Update 3/12 We're Back!!*

Today's topic...merchandise you wish they’d sell at your favorite Disney park.

Well, I happen to be quite fond of things that make food in the shape of Mickey. I have always wanted a Mickey waffle iron. Not the Mickey and Friends one they sell now. But an actual Mickey head shaped one. That would be amazing!

So, I won't give away the specific times that Ridemax gives me, because I technically think that constitutes cheating. But, I want to have a place to have our plans listed so that I can compare to how that timeframe worked out in our trip report.

For our first "park" day, we are doing the Keys to the Kingdom Tour. The tour starts at 9:30 and includes a break for lunch. The tour is supposed to be 4-4 and 1/2 hours, but I have read reviews of it lasting as long as 5 hours. :scared1: In any case, I plan for our Ridemax plan to start at 2:30 PM and included a 2 hour break for our dinner at Ohana. If our dinner break runs long (as I expect it probably will) then we will watch the fireworks from the Poly beach instead of Magic Kingdom.

So here is what Ridemax says it can fit in for us before 10 PM when extra magic hours start.

Breakfast at Crystal Palace (8:10 AM)
Keys to the Kingdom Tour (9:30 AM)
-Lunch at Columbia Harbor House
Dreams Come True Parade
Hall of Presidents
People Mover
Space Mountain
Dinner at Ohana
Wishes Fireworks
Stitches Great Escape
Mickey's Philharmagic
Peter Pan's Flight
Pirates of the Caribbean
Splash Mountain
Extra Magic Hours

Well...the time has come. It is time for more food.

Once every quarter, I have to volunteer to take a late shift at work, till 10 PM. Tonight, happens to be my night of the quarter, and since nothing exciting EVER happens here after 6, I have been paroosing lists to find some good ideas to use up our 32 snack credits this trip. Preferably something that does not involve us WASTING them on fudge to bring home with us to give to other people! (Last trip we had 40 credits, and used about none of them during the actual trip, so we bought out the Main St. Confectionary on our last morning).

I now present to you, my snack hit list (in no particular order):

Magic Kingdom:
Banana Bread Pudding from Main St. Bakery
Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich from Plaza Ice Cream Parlor
Iced Coffee from Sunshine Tree Terrace
Raspberry Lemonade Slush from Chesire Cat

Epcot:
Everything from Karamel Kuche (it was not open yet on our last trip)
The American Dream and a Cream Cheese Pretzel from Fife and Drum (Also, a Red Stag Lemonade. Why are grown up beverages not snack credits?)
Gelato
Peach Tart or Caramel Souffle from Boulangerie
Shortbread from Yorkshire County Fish Shop
Key Lime Tart from Sunshine Seasons

Animal Kingdom:
Banana Pudding from Anandapur
Egg Rolls, Jalapeno Cream Cheese Pretzel, and nuts from the carts

DHS:
Carrot Cake Cookie from Writer's Stop

DTD:
Sweets from Babycakes
Doh Bar from Cookes of Dublin

Well, thats 20+ things. Sorry Adam Dearest, I guess we won't be splitting those snack credits evenly :goodvibes

So, for Aristocrats, we went a little French (read: Off the Beaten Path). I really know nothing about french cooking. And in NE Wisconsin, I am not even sure we have an authentic French restaurant.

So I cheated a little. I really wanted to do crepes. I do not know how to make crepes, nor do I really care to know how to learn. But, thankfully our supermarket sells pre-made crepes.

I am considering starting a blog dedicated to theme nights. I always have a ton of fun planning ours, and the results are usually delicious, and sometimes the culinary adventures lead to funny (after the fact) mishaps. Like my oven fire incident with the monkey bread.

Anyway, here are our crepes.

This was a savory crepe that I filled with sauteed portobella mushrooms, swiss cheese and topped with hollondaise sauce (homemade!). It is sprinkled with some seasoned salt. This was actually super delicious. I am quite proud of myself for this one.

This was a dessert crepe, that I filled with Nutella, strawberries, and bananas. Delicious!

I'm not sure why the lighting on the second pic is so different. I think I pushed a button on my camera. :confused3

Those do look delicious!

I love all your snack credit wasters too. LOL

Your Most romantic moment in Disney.

What a good one! I would have to say that there are many romantic moments to be had in Disney, but my favorite was watching the fireworks atop the Contemporary at California Grill. It is such a unique dining experience and a great place to enjoy some incredible food, a good glass of wine, and watch the fireworks!

Even if you can't get a table here for the fireworks, go for the food alone. Or the view alone. Both are very unique and lovely experiences on their own.

So let's hear it guys. Spill the beans on the most romantic moments!

Your favorite CM, or type of CM.

I would have to say it is all the great folks that work at Liberty Tree Tavern. I love all CMs, never met a bad one in the park. Had a few bad servers. But those poor folks in LTT, have the WORST uniform to wear. Not to mention that even when it is 100 degrees they have to wear those little Betsy Ross hats.

Your Ideal Job at a Disney Park.

Oh my word, there are hundreds that I can think of. Really, ANY job in a Disney Park. ANY!

But, after much careful consideration, I have decided to submit my application to be Tink during Wishes. How amazing would it be to go soaring over the Magic Kingdom every night?!

How about you guys?

Oh, unlucky Day 13.

Your favorite month to visit a Disney Park.

I would like to think my favorite month would be during Christmas! But, I have never been during this time. I went to Disneyland in the days following New Years Eve and they still had a lot of Christmas stuff up, but it just wasn't authentic Christmas time.

My least favorite month is definitely August, which is when we went last time. Crowds low. Temps? Nearly unbearable. It was hot, and sweaty, and sticky. Horrendous.

Hi Jessica! I think I'm all caught up on your updates, now! :goodvibes

I saw you mentioned the timing of the KTTK tour - we did the 9:30 time also, and I we got done between 2:30 and 2:45 (I can't remember the exact time), but it was most likely closer to 2:30, so I think you'd be fine to have your RideMax schedule start then. I think you will love the tour! I have an even deeper appreciation for Disney now! :thumbsup2

I absolutely think you should start a movie nights blog! I would definitely read it! Good job on the crepes! I tried once to make them - they were quite difficult!

Thanks for the info on KTTK! I am really excited about it and know that Adam will love it! Its good to know that I was around the time for the end time. I will probably re-run the times to start at 3:00 just in case.

I didn't even attempt to make crepes from scratch, especially not when I could buy them in the produce department. It took a bit of getting used to working with them, but they were so thin you could almost see through them, yet super tender. Well worth the $4 for a pack of 12.

So I have been a bad bad bad girl. 3 days and no daily challenge. Naughty naughty.

So, here is Day 14 of the challenge.

The Most Annoying Part about visiting a Disney Park.

Hmmm...I just guess in general it is people that think they are above the rules and then get away with it! I won't list specific examples, but it just really bothers me when people brazenly break rules, and then no one (including myself) calls them on it.

Your Favorite Souvenir From a Disney Park.

It is definitely my sushi set from Mitsukoshi. (See the Mulan theme night!) I really loved this set and it was so reasonably priced. I think it was about $30 for the two plates, sauce cups and chopsticks.

First Thing You Do When You Get To a Disney Park.

Ahaha. This is sad. Like, really sad. But usually...its eating. I love going in for early entry for breakfast, so oftentimes, thats what we are doing. Sad, I know! If it isn't eating, then it is of course, making a B-line towards the major attraction at the park.

I totally agree. I usually comment (loudly) about said rule that's being broken -- just so that they know they're caught, even if WDW isn't going to do anything about it. :sad2:

I'm with you on this one. It's usually the first thing we do. We arrive HUNGRY. And food just tastes so much better when it's Disney Food!

Good for you! I don't know what it is about being in Disney, but I just never say anything, I just let it annoy me instead!

It really does! Even soda tastes better when it is coming out of your Disney mug, in the Disney park.

A Disney Park Tradition.

Oh boy, more food! I'm just giving ya'll a little preview of the gluttony that is going to commence TWO WEEKS from today!! TWO WEEKS!!! (I am counting our D-day as a day because 1. I don't have to work. And 2. It involves travel to get to the mouse and 3. We need to walk across the street to the airport at 4:30 AM, so that really is more or less a part of Friday, and not Saturday.)

Anywho...

Our only real Disney Tradition is to have breakfast at Crystal Palce on the first full morning of our trip. And that is exactly what we are doing on this trip!

How about you guys?

Your favorite meet and greet character/character you want to meet the most.

Ok, so when I cheated before on the autograph question, I clearly skipped ahead.

So I have already said that Pocahontas would be my most desired character to meet. My 2nd favorite would be to get a picture with Beauty AND the Beast.

We're getting down towards the end!! (Sidebar: I do have a real, legitimate post coming up in just a jiff, but am going to get the daily challege out of the way first.)

Todays challenge is HARD!

It is impossible to decide I think! I really enjoy any thrill ride (except for Mission Space.)

I am going to go "old" school and say that my favorite ride was at Disney's California Adventure, when they put Red Hot Chili Peppers music on the California Screamin' roller coaster (I believe they also did this with Space Mountain.) It was super awesome, and way better than the bizarre boardwalk-y music they played last time I was there.
