2 WI Adults Spring Break @ Disney A Mar '12 PTR *Update 3/12 We're Back!!*

I happen to love this picture of you. :thumbsup2 You look incredibly happy to be holding that DWF. :rotfl2: Annnd... I didn't try an actual DWF from Aloha Aisle last time - I tried the one from Capt. Cooks at the Poly - as I have been told that they are the same thing. I am definately not going to pass it up this time - however - it is not on my "must have" list like the Cream Cheese Pretzels are. :lovestruc

If your DH won't split it with you - I will. :cloud9: Rofl. I am a huge light weight too... I can just see us going to the DISmeet with one drink under our belt and fully intoxicated... Our Dis friends would :lovestruc us.

D~

I didn't have the sweet cream cheese pretzel last time, but I did have the jalapeno cream cheese pretzel at animal kingdom, and it was soooooooooo good! I have started a list of snacks that we have to try on this trip, I will have that posted in a few days.

DEAL! My DH will cart us both out of Epcot on the 8th and over to the DISmeet. :lmao:

Jessica, love the Day 9 flashback! You take such remarkable pictures! :lovestruc

Thank you! Those were all taken with a Sony Powershot. I can't wait to take my new camera for a Disney test run!

Wait a minute ... a Sony Cybershot or a Canon Powershot? :confused3
:lmao::rotfl2:

Sorry, I've been researching cameras like crazy the past 24 hours. :rolleyes1

Day 6 asks us...What is your favorite parade.

Well...

You see...

Don't gasp...

But I did not watch a single Disney Parade during our entire 11 day trip. So, I suppose by default, this wins out.

Next up on the movie docket, Hercules!

Now, I don't know anything about Greek food, or how to cook it, or where to start. So I enlisted the help of Josef's Gyros Kabobs in our hometown.

We ordered up the family gyro to go. Oh my word...I thought family was 3-4 people, and would have been happy to have some leftovers for lunch this week. But...I think that family was meant for 10-12 people. So, if you are in the area, and are hungry for some gyro, stop on by!

DSCN0187.jpg

Gyro meat (lamb). About 4-5 pounds worth!!

DSCN0188.jpg

Tzatziki and veggies. Lettuce on the bottom, onion, tomato, cilantro and fresh lime.

DSCN0189.jpg

Fresh pita.

DSCN0190.jpg

Baklava for dessert!

Everything was delicious! And at least I don't have to worry about what the menu will be for the Superbowl.

Joining in...it's always fun seeing other people from WI on here. :wave2:

Mmmm! I wish I was in the area! I'd drop by and help you devour the gyro meat! YUM! Now I want the Gyro Platter. Perhaps DH will take us out for dinner tonight. :confused3

Lol, sorry, it was early morning brain! It was a Sony Cybershot...I got it for Christmas two years ago, and I really like how easy it is to use, but I was getting bored with it, so wanted to try out something new.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I am always surprised by how many people from Wisconsin there are here!

I have a Sony Cybershot, but it's ... 5 years old? :confused3 Maybe closer to 4. I'm in the market for a new camera, just don't know what I want.

He isn't. He's making corn dogs.

Corn dogs are yummy!!

I really love my Nikon, but I think it is so weird that it uses actually AA batteries and not a rechargeable lithium one. :confused3

Its hard to focus on our Disneyland vacation with our trip to Disney World so close, but I just wanted to let everyone know that we are officially booked for our Disneyland trip, and paid in full, as of today. I will reveal more after we get back from our Disney World trip!

I think I'm going to go for another Sony. I really liked mine, but sad that the battery won't work in the new ones.

Isn't that the biggest conspiracy ever? I mean really, are the new batteries so superior to the old ones, it was worth making everyone that wants to upgrade to the new one shell out that much more money?

As for Disney, I have lots in store, but only have a very rough outline of our trip, which will probably change 12 million times before we are close to leaving. So I will reserve posting until its a bit more stable. But, we did have to change our dates to make the airfare more reasonable. We got a great price though. $179.60 with United non-stop out of O'hare.

Today's Topic...Your first trip to a Disney park.

Oh a good one!

Well, despite me begging, pleading, threatening to divorce my parents, etc. when I was younger, we did not go to Disney. My parents did not share my adoration of Disney. (Freaks!).

When I was a senior in high school, we got the opportunity to go to Disneyland for the 2006 HOSA National Leadership Conference. It was school sponsored, we would be well chaperoned, but the thing was crazy ridiculously (Yes, crazy, ridiculous) overpriced. We had to fundraise for the thing. It took a year, and my parents cooked approximately 8.6 to the fourth power bajillion brats and hamburgers in order to make it happen. But, I got to go. We only had 1 and a half days to actually spend in the parks. We were horrible planners. We were teenagers (recently graduated teenagers) and had no interest in rising before noon. So, we made it to the park by about 1:30. In summer. During the middle of the week. With a large convention going on. Needless to say, we got to ride a grand total of THREE rides all day. Jungle Cruise, Splash Mountain, and Space Mountain. But, we got to enjoy wishes, and it was incredible! And, I was hooked from there!

So tell me, what was your first experience in a Disney park?

I know. I was hoping the battery would be the same, as I have a spare for my current camera (so that would have made for two spares). :sad2: So now I have to buy a new camera AND a spare battery. Ugh. And odds are, it's the same battery, just a different shape. :headache:

That's a great price! (I think. I've never flown, so I'm just parrotting you. :lmao:) I found your DL thread and subbed, so I'll be anxiously watching for updates there. :goodvibes

Sounds like a fun time, regardless! :goodvibes

My first time in a park consisted of taking the whole family (8 of us) to Epcot and getting sun poisioning!:woohoo: Best. Day. Ever. But I had a blast, and didn't "suffer" until later that night. DD and I got tattoos (in Morocco), we met our first characters, had dinner with some princesses. It was an amazing day. :cloud9: And we were all hooked (except DH) from that first day...

Lol, well...to put it in perspective, our tickets to Orlando this time around were about $410 without vouchers. Granted, there were less expensive tickets available, I went for the primo flight times because of the vouchers I had to use. This time I had one last voucher to use up, so we ended up paying $209 total for both tickets!

Sounds like a fun time, regardless! :goodvibes

Aww I love this story!! Guys are always harder to convince, and even harder to get to admit that they do in fact love Disney. :rotfl: Even if it is deep deep down, and only a tiny amount.

Well, at last we are at the final day of our 2010 trip.

It started off as per usual, very early.

We had big plans though for our last day.

We hopped aboard the first bus headed for the Magic Kingdom.

If only it were sunny and not cloudy.

Boys...:rolleyes1

We were off to breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. It was a last minute addition to our ADR line up. I positively did not have any interest in eating here at first, but as time wore on, I couldn't help myself. I had to do it, just so I could say that I did it. I cancelled an ADR, can't remember for where, and made the ADR for Cindy's about 3 weeks before we left and snagged an 8:05 AM ADR here.

Here is the blurb from my dining review.

So at long (long, long, long, long...) last. Our final review. We had a 3:00 PM flight out of Orlando, so had enough time to get some breakfast, and burn those remaining snack credits at the Candy Shop on our way out. Off we went to Cinderella's Royal Table.

So, a few things we weren't aware of when we went. Photo package included, which was a nice touch. Second, it was all you could eat? I am still confused by it, but we were most definitely asked a few times if we wanted refills on anything, including the main part of the meal. Tip was also included.

So, on to the food:

DisneyworldAugust2010-2137.jpg

Breakfast breads. Crossaints (plain and chocolate, I already picked off the chocolate one by the time i took a picture) and cinnamon rolls. I ate the chocolate crossaint, as mentioned, and had our waiter bring me one more. It could have been ages (or never) before I got to have another Disney chocolate crossaint.

There was a lovely fruit bowl as well which I did not manage to get a picture of. It had strawberries, mangos, kiwis, and blackberries. I was quite excited about the kiwi and mango, as I hadn't scene them on any of the other breakfast buffets we were at. We did get seconds on the fruit.

For breakfast, we both went with the same thing.

DisneyworldAugust2010-2662.jpg

Deep fried stuffed french toast with fresh blueberry sauce. This was incredible. Piping hot, so not too greasy. I would have had seconds had it been anything else but deep fried stuffed french toast. I'm not normally a person that counts calories, but in the way of breakfast food, this has got to be about as bad as it gets. So it was fitting that I found this to be one of the most delicious items I indulged in while here.

So. Final thoughts on the Royal Table. Would we go again? No, unless we had children. I know this place gets ripped on quite a lot because of price or the fact that it is two credits. I have to say though, I actually found quite a lot of value. When you consider the fact that tip was included, that you get a photo package, and you get refills on whatever you want (and a princess wand and sword, even when you're grown up :rotfl:) it's not that bad. I found our food to be really fresh and tasty. Another thing, our service was fabulous. Our waiter went above and beyond and actually made a point of running over to us when one of the princesses came around so that we could both be in the picture. My jaw literally dropped when I went to fill out our slip and there was no spot to write in a gratuity. I thought he was working us over for a good tip (which he certainly earned). I was so tickled with our service that I slipped some cash in there anyway.

After breakfast we had some time to spare before we had to head back to the hotel to catch the ME.

And of course we had to stop off for that last Dole Whip Float.

DSC01071.jpg

One more, for posterity's sake.

We then headed back to Pop Century, packed up the last of our stuff, and went and had our bags checked in. And guess who was overweight? Not this lady! So, we had to shuffle around some luggage, just to be on the safe side.

Then we took the ME to the airport, and waited for our flight home. We made it in just after 8 PM, were not very promptly retrieved from the airport by Adam's brother in law, and made our way back home. The weather was much nicer than when we left (remember the storm?!).

And that...is the end of our story. This time, I promise I wil be much more visual with the pictures!!

Todays topic:

Your favorite autograph/autograph you want the most.

I am not an autograph collector. So lets say, my favorite picture with a character, or the one I want to be photographed with the most. (PS, I have no idea if topic bending is allowed, but we are going to go rogue and do so anyway!)

Growing up, Pocahontas was always one of my favorite movies, so I guess I would have to say that I would want a picture with her. She is quite elusive though!

Oh no! You've gone all rogue! :scared1:

Haha! That made me chuckle. It is one of my favorite sayings! I will have to stalk her at AK. Who needs EE when you can stalk Pocahontas?
