Welcome all to my pre-trip report!! :cool1:

After much consideration I’ve decided that I would start this pre-trip report. I am hoping that it will help ease the excitement of my upcoming trip….which is only 9 months away!! Only here can you talk about your trip months in advance and not be laughed at and made fun of.

:rotfl: :rotfl: This is a SAFE place. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Our plans for this trip started last September while we were in Disney. We were given the option that if we booked during our stay we would get free dinning for next September. The flyer was in our room on the second day….tempting me. I decided that I wouldn’t say anything about it to DH and let him be the one to bring it up. DH loves Disney but every year we say this will be our last trip for a couple years and every year we come back! On our third day we came back to our room for our afternoon break and DH tells me that he thinks we should book for next year “just in case” we want to come. I told him that if we booked and then ended up canceling I would be very upset but decided that this was my chance to possibly come back next year I better jump on it! He called, booked, and put our $200 deposit down for 2008!

Trip Details:
September 20, 2008 thru October 4, 2008
CSR-w/ king size bed.
Free dinning.
10 Park Hopper w/ Water parks and more option (thinking about getting an annual pass, more on that later).

Now about us:
DH (will be 27 in March): DH loves Disney and even more than loving Disney he LOVES taking pictures at Disney. On our last trip he took over 700 photos!!! I’ve since gone through and deleted (or edited) many of them, lots of doubles or even triple shots. He loves all the big thrill rides BUT just last year finally conquered his fear of TOT, he screamed like a girl the first time he rode it. But now loves it! His favorite park is MGM (Hollywood Studios) and he loves to eat at Ohanas and Le Cellier. On our last trip he swam with the Sharks at Typhoon Lagoon and that was the highlight of his whole trip.

Me (25): I never would have dreamed in a million years that I would fall in love with Disney like I have. I went twice as a child, only to Magic Kingdom for one day, and then in December 2005 DH and I went for a week and I’ve been hooked ever since! I love everything about Disney, but I have to say that Epcot, Sorain, Expedition Everest, and the dinning plan (you can laugh at this) are my favorites. Last year we did MNSSHP and LOVED it, so that will be a must for this year.

Hey - just saw your trip report and can't wait to hear more. Much like you, I did not develop a love for Disney until we took our kids for the first time. I had never been as a child. Man was an incredible experience.

Can't wait to read more about your adventure.

Hi,
I am going to move you to our pre-trip board. You will probably find others as yourself that will be going in Sept. Give me a PM after your trip, and I will move you back to this board.

Hi veryblessed! Great pre-trip report. I agree with you about the fact that this is a safe place.....to be a Disney nut! That's why I love the DIS! :grouphug: I'm glad that you were able to get a good deal on your trip. Free dining is a wonderful thing! :thumbsup2

I have to admire your DH for that! I went on ToT a few years ago and all I can say is NEVER AGAIN!!!!! I hope you and your DH have a great time on your trip! :wizard:

Other Trips
December 2005 was my first trip to Disney. And I ran my poor DH into the ground!! I had only been to MK twice as a kid and barely remembered a thing. DH had been to every park within 5 years ago so he wasn’t nearly as geeked as I!!! This trip was a reward to us! We had just completed building our first house and we had lived with DH’s parents the first full year we were married while building the house…the house that is right next door….to my in-laws…... It was a rough year building and living with the in-laws! We needed to get away and RELAX……yeah the word relax wasn’t in the vocabulary for that trip! Looking back I don’t know how we did it!! We went from park open to park close and never took breaks!! I don’t have any pictures from that trip because we didn’t have TIME for pictures!!!! I never thought we would be able to go back so I wanted to see all and do all, boy was I crazy or what?? We stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for one week and loved it, especially Boma we ate there 3 times that trip. Yum-o! We decided that in the future we would rather come and stay longer then stay at a deluxe resort but man oh man do I miss that place!!

In October 2006 we went back to Disney and this time we stayed at CSR for 10 days. This trip I vowed to be more laid back and promised that we would take pictures!! We took afternoon breaks almost every day and had many early nights back in the room watching the Detroit Tigers in the World Series. In 2006 we discovered the Food and Wine Festival and LOVED that! We had warmer weather then what we had in December 2005 and laid out by the BIG pyramid pool many times!! October 2006 also launched The Year of a Million Dreams and we won Dream Fastpasses at MK, along with a special pin trading lanyard and pins at Animal Kingdom. This was the first year we ate at LeCilliar, Sci-fi, and Mama Melrose. We still hadn’t discovered the dinning plan!!!
