We are two weeks out from an 11 night split stay between BCV and GFV. While I am super excited (we haven't been anywhere since pre-covid), I am suddenly super nervous. This isn't our first Disney rodeo, not even our first one as parents, but it IS our first time taking TWO kids. And I am suddenly worrying this is going to be a disaster. Between a temperamental little one under two who suddenly hates his stroller, sleeping all 4 of us in one room, anxiety over Genie+ and high crowds, trying to figure out just how we're going to get all of this luggage to the airport, making sure we have all the things we need.... I'm just wondering whose bright idea this was in the first place? Someone please tell me it's going to be okay.

It's going to be ok!. With the little ones you just follow there lead most the time. If they are cranky you find a resting spot. If they want pool time you go to the pool. Don't force the parks if things go south. Airport should have carts to help with your luggage.

I don't really recommend genie + for a family with small kids. But if you don't mind the cost than go for it. But with a 2 yr old it's gonna be mostly wasted unless you are doing rider swap all day.

If you forget anything they have so many grocery stores that will deliver or Amazon now to get what you need.

So I was anxious about Genie+ but I've spent my mornings logging on at 7 and 715 and I became less anxious.

We're going back in 2024 and this is our longest trip ever. We're normally 4 park days, go go go. We have 7 park days this time so we're a little frenetic in the first few days but then it slows down. (I also decided to let my husband book 3 tee times with my step-dad....)

It’s going to be fun! And your little ones will be amazed.

I’d suggest not trying to do everything every day, and to factor in down time for the kids.

Take lots of photos!

I feel like I could have written this myself! Except we leave in one week! I think it's just normal pre-trip scaries for me, but just have my fingers crossed for good weather and happy kids!!

You will have fun! The fact that you have 11 days is great because you don’t have the pressure of fitting every single thing in each day. You can take your time and I feel that is honestly the biggest gift at Disney. I always feel like we’re rushing and every trip I say we’re going to slow down…and we don’t. But you will have the luxury of taking your time. If the kids are cranky, leave the parks and go swim or ride Nemo 6 times in a row if that makes them happy. You’ve got this!

As a parent of 3 now teens that has been to Disney with them at every age I can promise you that with the right mindset you will have a blast! I promise some things will go wrong or sideways, and meltdowns will happen too, but looking back those are some of the stories that we laugh at the most. Just remember when those moments happen that pre-chewed corn dogs from a toddler are not as horrible as then sound. (yes that really happened as did my daughter screaming "you're not my mommy" at the top of her lungs while I was waiting with her for my wife and other 2 kids to ride splash mountain)

The only advice I would offer is to say you know your kids, and use the fact you have 11 days to your advantage. Take breaks and do silly thinks that make them smile. That age can be pure magic if you give it a chance to be.

Have a great trip and enjoy!!!!

It will all be just fine. Also, I can only speak for myself and my family, but I just don't know what all of this complaining is about the crowds at Disney as if this is some new, heretofore unknown phenomenon. I will say that because DW is a teacher, we only ever get to go during school breaks, and because we hate the heat we have no interest in going in the summer. So, that leaves spring break in March and Christmas break in December.

We just got back from a trip on March 20th and while yes, it was busy, it felt less busy than before to us. Our only theory on that is that it is a time of year that we are used to going but with the undisclosed but still reduced overall park capacity, there should presumably be fewer people.

I will say that my dad hates crowds with an absolute passion, and he will often duck out early or even skip some park days because he gets tired of the sea of people and on our last trip he stayed out longer and didn't skip any days and he said that it was his favorite trip that he could remember because it seemed less crowded to him.

Again, it's Disney World, it's always busy but at least for myself and my family we have found this most recent trip to be less so than in the past. Good luck and have fun.

Disney is very stimulating for little kids and you really don't have to cram in a lot for them to have a good time. The sights, characters, entertainment, music, is enough so rides are really just extra for little kids. Unless you and your spouse are riding headliners, I'd pas on G+ for all the park. If I was in your shoes I'd only buy G+ at MK and prioritize what you and the kids would enjoy and bypass G+ at the rest of the parks unless you plan to ride a lot solo and do rider swap for headliners.

Given you have a long trip planned, I think you'll be fine given the ages of the kids so you won't be rushed to squeeze in everything. Disney has everything if you forget and if you can't easily find it on site you can have it delivered or drive a few min and get it. It will all go fine. Just take it easy, relax as much as you can, and don't try to push the family when they're fighting back.

I agree on the crowd thing…when has Disney not been crowded?! I grew up going throughout the 80’s and 90’s and it was crowded then. And the rides had lines. This is nothing new. I don’t know what people expect. Yes, you can try to use Genie to your advantage, but there will be other people and sometimes you will have to wait for things.

Well certainly with kids that young, it won't be a blast. But you are making memories and you will remember the good ones, not the bad. As long as you aren't going into it with expectations of everything being perfect, you will be ok. Just take everything slow and take breaks if the kids are giving you trouble.
