Hi everyone,

We'll be arriving at the GF two weeks from Friday. It's our first stay at this resort and I've been anxiously awaiting our "welcome" letter from the resort. Many of you on this board mention receiving these letters, but we haven't received one.

Does Disney always send them? Do you think maybe I'm not receiving one because we booked with a Travel Agent instead of directly with Disney oursleves? I do have a confirmation (that appears to have come right from Disney) of my resevrvation.

Thanks,

Sharon

Probably they are going to the TA and not being forwarded.

In all honesty the welcome letters aren't worth the paper they are printed on. IMHO there's not special secret info, and it's just another piece of junkmail in the box.

If you are staying concierge and want them to make PS's for you, etc., then don't wait, get in touch with them directly. We never were contacted by the GF concierge when we stayed there.

All our correspondence went to the person who booked the room for us, and he forwarded it to me.

Check with the travel agent.

Have a wonderful stay!

we just got mail from the GF

has pic on front of PP, tink & wendy flyin over the GF
under it says GLICK FAMILY

gonna have it framed

I've yet to figure out this introduction letter. We've booked the GF a total of 6 times. Four of them I did on my own and the two most recent ones were through Dreams Unlimited. I only received a pre-planner concierge call once and never have I gotten a welcome letter. I don't know what the resort capacity is, but I can't imagine that they would be able to send something out to every arriving guest. They must randomly select a certain number of guests each month. A little extra magic for those that are selected.

the letters sent out from the resorts are all sent out by the marketing department, the resort specifically.

Concierge guests should always get a letter and a sheet for itinerary planning. This is what you are paying for - pre-arrival planning. If you don't receive one by about 100 days out from your trip, call the itinerary planning office and request one.

I did not get a welcome letter last time I stayed at the GF. Do all disney resorts send these letters or just deluxe?

Even after requesting and told it would be sent, it wasn't. Have read many posts about concierge guests not receiving the itinerary planning form. Bit of a pet peeve of mine - if they are going to do this, then do it for everyone. Seems quite hit and miss. Either do it for everybody or do away with them.

Don't wait to receive anything in the mail; e-mail the resort. I found this works best anyways.
