A colleague of mine is booking at the weekend for 2 weeks at POP next June.

My advice has been:

Book Standard view and request 50's, maybe even as specific as building 3, as his daughter loves Lady and the Tramp, and Building 3 looks like it has no car park facing rooms.

Go for QSDDP, as he wants to get the best value he can, and isn't too keen on the idea of loads of ADRs, so the £600 for QS compared to £900 for DDP is good as they can eat at Pop for most meals if it falls that way, and then they still have the £300 they would have spent on the difference for any TS they would have done.

Seeing as I've never stayed at Pop, or done DDP, I'd love any comments/criticism!

Thank you!

Can't help, but just wanted to say that you are kind to give them advice, I have given up on that with friends :lmao:

Aww, thank you.

With a lot of friends I don't bother too much, but as Andy works with me, and seems to love hearing baout our plans and trips he's caught the bug a bit!

Went to DLRP in June, and loved it, and really thanked me for my advice, and is now keen to take his daughter to WDW, and is keen to book what I advise. Pressure!!

He's the kind of person that you like helping, as he's so grateful, and willing to listen etc.

If they get a lake facing room in the "Tramp" building, they can see the Epcot fireworks from there ;-)

We did that in April, and the "back" of the buildings (i.e. lake view not pool view) are quieter, although still only a very short stroll to the pools and the main building.

Pop was great, we loved it!

We stayed at '50s in Feb. It's nice in that it's pretty close to Everything Pop and the parking lot.

I would request the top floor, lake view, without connecting door for a quieter experience.

Thanks everyone. Building 3 sounds great.

You don’t have any photos I could show him do you?

Hi

The QSDP is great we used it last year and had plenty to eat and places to choose.

Make sure they make a few reservations if they really want to pay oop for a character meal or maybe if they want to eat at the castle.

Hope they have a fantasticf time :goodvibes

My daughter also loves Lady & The Tramp, so I took her to Tony's at MK. The food was not very good at all however my daughter absolutely loved it there because of the Lady and the Tramp water fountain and the pictures on the wall. It is just a shame about the food.

why dont you recomend him the DIS so he can see all the planning for himself

Have stayed 3 times at pop and to be honest a a part of me wanted to do a few nights there this time. For a value resort it is great and is a great hit with kids.DD loves it. Do they not get free DDP in June? Sorry not up on the dates. If so would it be cheaper to stay at a mod and get the free plan:confused3 Which ever you decide with them its great you are helping them. One of my work collegues is going in may but she wants to stay off site and will be asking similar to this:thumbsup2

Sadly, he is just between dates for the offer. Ends June 2nd.

I have never dont the QSDDP only the DDP as we love to eat at restaurents,
but we have stayed at POP twice and LOVED IT!!!!!! we have 3 boys twins 5 and an 8 yr old and they just adore this hotel as another posted said we wish that altough we are staying at AKL we could go to POP and stay for a couple of days its so Disney with all the huge icons ( kids love them ) and so did us and our 77yr old mother:rotfl: When I walked into the lobby I cried it was my 1st Disney hotel been many times to florida as a child and teen but always stayed at International drive! the pools are so colourful and the rooms are just great for what is needed nice and light, Best bit they dont share a bus with any other resort so there is always a bus to your hoosen park without much of a wait ( pretty much every 10 mins or so) great choice :) and really does not look like a Value hotel at all ....Gutted you can not do split stays we would hae done a wk at each place this yr
