First let me say this was a great trip till the end when one of my twins got a bad stomach virus
Poor Little Guy. We'll be going back in December so it makes it easier to say goodbye. I just focus on the fact we are going back. Its a great feeling. I never had that before, where you leave but have another trip scheduled for a few months away. Its fabulous.
The Cast : DH, Me, DS5, and DS's(Twins 2) midtrip we were joined by my parents & Neice 21 yrs old.
ASMO ~ Toy Story, Woody Building. Our room was by Andy's room and that was awesome. It was like being morphed into the movie. Our boys loved it and have already requested to go back. Let me begin by saying that I don't understand the negative comments about All Stars. We thorughly enjoyed our stay and so did our boys. The food court was great for what it was, a place to grab something quick not to have a Michilin 4 * meal. There were good choices and the food was well prepared. No it wasn't stellar but it wasn't awful either. The room wasn't tiny either. After reading these boards I was afraid that the rooms were going to be claustrophobic. I had visions that if I turned around too fast I would be outside the room. The rooms were fine. Cute themeing and enough room for it not to be an issue for this family of 5 and keep in mind I had 2 cribs in the room and it was still roomy. The pool was fine. My older son had a great time swimming around no slide but he didn't miss it . The babies really enjoyed the kiddie pool. I loved all the huge props around the resort they made for wonderful photo opportunities. We didn't use the buses b/c we planned on going to Seaworld the days we were staying at ASMO and we had a rental car. The first day we settled in and then picked up our AP's and headed to MK to eat an early dinner at CP. I definitely will stay again at ASMO. Its a great place to stay and extend your vacation for a reasonable amount of money. And you enjoy all the perks of staying at a WDW resort.
BCV ~ We own DVC and BCV are our home resort. We had a 2BR and it was awesome. Tons of room and beautifully decorated.I left my white gloves and Jeeves at home so if your looking for there was a smudge here or a ding there I can't help you. We don't look for problems when we are on vacation. If one comes up we handle it but hey we are in WDW and alls right with the world. Yes its also an investment so if there were problems we'd have them addressed but we didn't go out of our way to find fault. My parents and neice were very impressed with the villas when they joined us a few days later. The jacuzzi tub was a big hit with the boys. Several times we had all 3 in at once and they had a ball. They told me it wasn't an Epcot view but I could see Spaceship Earth outside the windows through the trees and if you stood on the balconies and looked to the right you could see the high fireworks. It was so convenient to have the washer/dryer right in your room. It really spoils you. And having a full size kitchen filled with snacks is also very cool. Saved us time to make breakfast in the room and throw the dishes in the dishwasher before we left for the parks. My DH is a low carber and eats a dozen eggs for breakfast everyday. This made it so easy for him to get the protein intake he needed without spending emormous amounts of money. The grocery store at the villas had eggs and they were the same price at home. We also bought refillable mugs (cue scary music) Thats all I'll say. The pool is IMHO the best in WDW. It was difficult to get my oldest out of the pool. And several times he wanted to skip the parks and swim. Which was fine with us, whatever he wanted to do. The twins loved SAB and would cry when we took them out. My neice actually had my oldest going down the tunnel of death slide like a pro. I guess this is one of those incidences where you can be overprotective and hold your kid back. My neice is a lifeguard back home and swam competetively so he was in good hands. By the time we left he was swimming incredibly well. We walked to EPCOT many times and it was a pleasant maybe 10 minute walk. We also used the boat and enjoyed it. BCV has many terrific things going for it~ SAB, very close and convenient to EPCOT/MGM. Buses were wonderful when we went. never waited more than 10 minutes and BC/YC/BCV had their own bus. Its an eay walk to the Boardwalk and all the entertainment there. There are several restaurants right there at the resort~ Cape May,Yachtsman,Ariels and B&C plus in room dining. All the pluses of a deluxe resort plus all the comforts of home , a hard to beat combination.
I have to stop here my other twin has the virus and is waking. I'll continue later if anyone is interested or has questions.
