2 way radios...Do They Work?

Fawn....grab them now before they run out and the promotion expires! I got my Motorola Talkabouts through the internet 3 years ago for $10 apiece and wondered if it was too good to be true as well. They are perfect, work great best investment we ever made. (This particular Cobra you are considering is basically the same radio I have) Good luck.

Also, I just received this in my email..Walmart has Panasonic Radios on clearance for $19.00. Two mile radius 14 channel 38 sub and they are water resistant! Here is the link:

Fawn, do you have a link to this special? Must you be an AOL user? These sound like the ones I want to buy and that is a fabulous price......but we don't have AOL.

Sonya....it is an AOL special Deal of the Day, and I believe you do have to be a member.

I'm concerned only because nowhere does it state the actual model number of this pair. From past experience, that could be a bad deal. Still not sure what to do.

Anyone else have opinions?

OK, a little more investigating here. I cannot tell what model number these are. But in looking around AOL, I found that they also have a special deal on the FRS225, which is what I wanted in the first place.

Their deal is $39.95 for two of them, and that includes extra face plates, I guess. That doesn't include rechargable batteries or anything. On the Cobra website, it lists this pair for $74.95 with $20 rebate...so $54.95.

Anyone ever gotten them any cheaper than $39.95 a pair? And are these the ones recommended at Consumer Reports?
