I know that both of these points have been complained about on here before, but I need to vent or I may not be held responsible for my actions.

1. I HATE the Facebook site/app for DFTW. I don't like that you can't do your own formatting (you can't read the name of one person in my wedding party because of how the app automatically sets things up for you). I don't like that you have to be a member of FB to access all parts of the site. Seriously? What kind of deal did DFTW and FB strike? I think it's stupid, and I may just tell people to book their hotel and tickets through AAA because their discounts will probably be better than the crappy ones DFTW offers our wedding guests. :sad2:

2. We returned our signed LOA almost 3 weeks ago, and the credit card has been charged. I'd like a planner, please! Things have been planned in my head for months. I just want stuff on paper now.

That's all. Sigh.

 I know how you feel. Especially about the facebook. DF and I don't have it and don't want to have it. I wish they would've kept the other website and just let people choose either one. As for the getting assigned a planner..I'm not sure if this is normal or what but things seem to be running a bit slow there. I just got my LOA Friday and my one year was like 2 weeks ago. Hopefully you'll get your planner soon though. :shamrock:

I didn't have to deal with FB but it's not a very easy site to deal with sometimes so I can see the problem.

Now the planner thing can sometimes take forever or done quickly. I waited about 3 weeks from my signed LOA until we got a planner. Maybe send your sales consultant a quick email asking for an update? I did that and got a call the next day from my planner.

I don't think we waited that long to hear from our coordinator. Maybe a week or so.

As for FB, I thought that was just something extra if you wanted to. I was given a website when I signed the contract. You can buy tickets, view event calendar and view the wedding pics. I am wondering if this has been replaced with the FB site. If so that wouldn't be fair as my DF doesn't have this and we wouldn't be able to utilize it. :confused3

not to hijack, but can you buy the tickets off the website? my guests have been telling me you get so far and then it wasy you have to call. arg!!!!

hang in there, lots of stuff is totally frustrating, i know!!!, but its not totally outside the realm of normal either...

I know what you mean about being assigned a planner we sent our completed contract form back and they took the money out of my account at the beginning of october and we have only just been assigned our planer. Typically our planner rang me out of the blue last week and just as i'm sorting out the kids and getting their tea out on the table to touch base. We've not had our planning meeting yet and our wedding is less than six months. Lots to sort out and not enough time at this rate.

It might be worth emailing them asking when they are going to assign you someone. I know how your felling at the mo its really frustrating when you wont to get on and you cant till you've spoken to disney.

Thanks for understanding! I think we are just not going to use the FB site at all. We only have 14 guests coming to the wedding, and any info we need to get to them can be done by email or a phone call. And again, I'm pretty sure AAA's discount on both hotels and tickets is better than the wedding discount.

I'm going to email my consultant today to see about when we will be assigned a planner.

If they gave you the original website I'm pretty sure you get to keep that. We got one as well and it's still up. They are just phasing out the old website and replacing it with the new Facebook app (which sucks and apparently nobody likes it...) but they won't take away the old website if you already have it.

It is frustrating. Yes you can get discounted tickets off the site. Any my family wants to buy them but are not able to. My coordinator told me that it would be updated by Oct. We sent another email to her today along with some other questions we had.

Yes I do have the original site. And we are keeping it updated with what our plans our while on the trip. I was a confused at first but now it all makes sense. I wish I could use the FB site but am not able to do this. I don't know why they would take this site away if it causing so many issues with some that do not use FB. Guess they feel it is easier.

To the best of my knowledge, new brides aren't being given the old site, just the FB one. :( I'm a total FB addict, and DF is on it, too, so that's not the problem. The problem is that the app sucks and the layout of the design is poor. Also, all your guests must be members of FB to see certain parts of the site. I doubt DF's 73 year old mother is going to sign up. :lmao:

I guess I just expect something of higher quality given that it's coming from Disney.

I HATE the new FB thing for DFTW!! We were told that we were going to be able to have a choice. Then they changed their minds and said we could only have the FB! I was pissed.

As far as Event Planner is concerned. I've learned that just because I have an Event Planner, doesn't mean anything is on paper. She'll answer questions, but nothing really happens until the planning session. I just kinda keep getting pushed off until then. I was able to go around and plan my MK and EPCOT photo session through Disney Photography, but that's it. Nothing else, even though I know what I want, is on paper. It's very frustrating.

Sorry about the frustration. I never used the Facebook site but it seems it's quite a pain. As for the planner don't get overly worried. October/November is part of the prime wedding season and it can get quite busy. After a month I'd start getting really irritated though. Did you have a sales consultant before your loa? Perhaps you could email them and see what's up. A lot of the wedding process seems like you pay up front and have to wait a while to actually see things happen.

Ps love the screen name!
