What is it like to wait for the Fantasmic show at the Hollywood Studios? My plan is to watch the 2nd show and go there an hour before the show starts. I am wondering what the wait is like, do they let you start sitting down an hour before the show? or do they have you stand in the line for an hour before you can grab a seat and sit down? Can I order the turkey leg, sandwich, chips to go and bring my dinner to the stadium to wait? I know I can eat at Hollywood & vine, Brown Derby or Mama Melrose for the dining package but DH cannot justify spending almost $200 just for some good seats at the stadium. Plus, we already have the quick service meal purchased so I guess it is better to use that rather than spending extra money

They allow guests in 30 minutes before the 2nd show because they have to clean the seating areas after the 1st show.

Plan to enter the amphitheater 30 minutes before the 2nd Fantasmic begins for the best selection of seats ~ the amphitheater doesn't fill up for show #2.

Yes, you can bring food in. We grabbed CS for the kids on the walk over and ate it while waiting.

There's music, and lots of quality people watching to pass the time!

What if you do the first showing? What time do they let you in?

You can bring food in.

You definitely do not need to be there an hour before the show starts. I would plan on showing up about 15 minutes before it starts. Maybe 30 minutes before if you're really picky about where you sit.

The CMs open the theater an hour or more before show-time.

Guests at that time will simply walk slowly through the very long pathways to the theater and file in to find a seat.

What a FP+ for F! offers is more CHOICE in seating.

If you DO get a F! FP+, you can choose to sit in either the FP section (virtually the entire left half of the theater) or the Standby section (virtually the entire right half of the theater.)

So, whatever section has the better seating at the time you arrive, you can go there.

Without a FP, you can only choose a seat in the Standby section.

There is a very good chance that you can get a FP+ for F! as a 4th or 5th FP of the day because they issue SO MANY of them (enough to cover nearly the entire left half of the seating.) On many nights, it is possible that you can gat a FP+ for F! as you are walking to the theater.

As to when to arrive at the theater, I'd get to there 45-60 minutes before the show-time.

Even with a FP or Dining Pkg. reservation, don't wait too late.

On busy nights, the CMs can stop holding the reserved sections within 20-30 minutes before show-time, and turn over any available seats to waiting walk-in guests.

There is sometimes a "pre-show" (such as it is) that can help pass the last 30 minutes before show time.

Shaded areas:

(First or Only F! performance of the evening)

Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating

Red= Dining Package Reserved

Blue= FP+ Reserved

Purple= Can be either FP+ or Dining Plan Reserved, depending on needs.

(Second or Third F! performance of the evening)

Cyan= Standby (walk-in) seating

Red, Purple, Blue= FP+ Reserved

(Although much of the outer Blue will likely be used for Standby.)

And thank you!

Also, there's food and drink choices inside the arena. You can bring food in. But you can also purchase pretzels, popcorn, soda, beer, hot dogs, nachos, etc inside the arena. They have two separate food places on the top

Really? 30 minutes is good enough time? I will be there during the first week of June, do you think they will be way too crowded?

If I remember correctly, they tell you to show up 90 mins before the start of the show. I had a fastpass last time I was there and was able to get in. I got in about an hour before the show started. It's an awesome show, well worth the wait.

They don't allow anyone in until the amphitheater is cleaned. The theater isn't full for the 2nd show and the Dining seating is open for Standby and FP guests.

There's really no reason to arrive more than 30 minutes prior to showtime unless you want to stand in the pathway that leads up to the amphitheater.

I am just nervous. Hate to deal with the crowd. I guess as long as I get to sit down, I will go a little early , maybe 40 minutes?

The CMs load the amphitheater section by section for both the FP and Standby areas. It's not as if you are fighting for a seat; you can only head to whichever section is being loaded.

We have Fantasmic H&V Dining package, and would prefer to sit towards the top of the amphitheater, so that we can get out quickly. Do the CMs, make you sit at the bottom? Or can you sit anywhere in the reserved seating area?

90 minutes is about 60 minutes too early.

There was a time when showing up 60 to 90 minutes early was recommended, but that was ages ago.

The second show never comes close to filling up.

The first show, arena is opened a hour ahead of showtime.

Second show, generally opened about 30min before showtime.

If you're there when they let people in, you'll have first dibs on seats.
