This will be or the first three days of our trip in August. 5 ppl 2 adults, 16 DS, 14 DS 9DD

I think with kids of those ages, I would put the two teen boys in their own studio. Do AKL 1 bedrooms even hold 5?

One bedroom at OKW wouldn't be the worst thing. In my opinion the one bedroom at DAKL with 5 people would be tight. Two studios at DAKL would be my pick.

Note that there are no connecting studios at either of the named resorts, and no guarantee you would even be near each other. Both are very large resorts if you should have studios in different buildings (OKW) or at opposite sides of Kidani village. Each studio would require an adult on the reservation, and you could not just book a studio for the kids, since none are over 18.

We dont plan on pacing kids alone. Boys in one room girls in the other!

Two studios would give you more privacy, and allow you to stretch out a little more. 1 bedroom would give you the full kitchen and the washer and dryer in the room. If you plan on having meals in, I would recommend the 1 bedroom. If you plan on mostly eating out, I would recommend 2 studios. In either case, I would recommend AKV.

We usually stay in 1BR with 5 @ AKV or OKW, or studio with 4 @ AKV. OKW is plenty of space for your group. We have 3 teens and find the OKW 1BR works very well. You have a sofa and love seat combo in a corner, plus an oversized twin sleeper chair, large table with 4 chairs, plus a table with 4 chairs on patio and a bulter/service area with cabinets in addition to the large open ktichen. Bathroom is very large, as well. Keep in mind that certain older units have bathroom entrance thru master BR (so request an area where this is not the case--bldgs 30+, I think?). We have had both types of bathrooms, didn't bother our family. We love AKV, but for 3 kids, OKW give a lot more space and much larger patio.

If you did a one bedroom, would the boys be ok sharing a bed? If so, you could bring an aero bed for dd.
If it were me, I would do two studios. And put girls in one, boys in the other.
At OKW, you'll get two queen beds in each studio...kind of nice for the ladies!!

I voted for 2 studios at AKV because I like it much better than OKW....but I would want Jambo House not Kidani so I guess it depends on availability. Always a possibility at OKW you could end up in diff. buildings. At least at AKV you'd all be in the same building.... I personally think the point values for the 1 bedrooms are the worst value....

I'd do a 2 BR at the cheapest option. AKV Kidani would be my second choice and the first for a 1BR with OKW a close second.

we were going to book the 1 br at OKW but could not get 1 near the hospitality house. so we tried 2 studios... couldnt get both near Hosp. House so we opted for 2 standard studios at Kidani because Jambo was not available... We are happy with our choice!!

Good for you!

That is good news. Kidani is a nice resort, more relaxing that Jambo House IMO and it is easy to get to Jambo House. I would make sure the reservations are labeled "traveling with" so you can get rooms nearby. The real advantage is that the buses pick up Kidani guests first so you almost always get a seat in the mornings. :thumbsup2

Well now a 1 bedroom at OKW is open near the Hospitality House... should I switch or keep the 2 studios at Kidani

I would have done the 1 bedroom at AKV or 2 studios somewhere - the main reason is for the 2 bathrooms! We just stayed at a 1bedroom at BCV instead of our normal BLT and hated the bathroom sharing situation! I shower/toilet area really was a headache!

I found it was actually easier to share a single bathroom at Sports and CBR because the showers had curtains instead of glass walls - so someone could use the toilet while another was showering while still maintaining some privacy (especially important for my modest 9 year old!!)

I would do an OKW 1 or 2 bedroom. In an OKW one bedroom, parents could be in the King bed, boys in the living room onthe fold out couch, daughter in the living room on the fold out chair (which is very comfortable). If you go with a one bedroom at OKW, be sure to request building 30 or higher so you have two entrances to the bathroom, rather than only having to enter through the master bedroom.

We decided on the 1 bedroom at OKW. We have a room near hospitality house. Are those numbered 30 and up?
