2 strollers or double?

I am trying to decide the exact same thing for our trip this year. We were in the stroller section at Babysrus for over an hour tonight. We were thinking about bringing two umbrella strollers and then buying those clips that attach them together... Has anyone tried or used them before?

A previous post got me worried that our strollers might get damaged from being on the airplane...hmmm maybe I'll have to try a sit n stand.

Last visit our daughters were 3 and 6 and we didn't take one on the plane with us, we just rented the double one from Disney at the parks and DTD....They worked out just great !!
No fussing with them on busses either...
We are going this Nov too and we will be renting a double again !!

Remember if you rent in the park..you can't take them out of the park. I have a 3 and 1.5 yr old that will def need the strollers outside of the park. You can also call a rental service in FL that will deliver a stroller to your resort. You can have it for the week. Doubles are $15 or so a day I think. I still think the doubles are cumbersome and a pain to try and fold and fit on a bus.

We took one single on the plane to FL (non dis) a couple of yrs ago and it wasn't beat up in the least bit. And I heard that if it is they will help to reimburse you..not 100% though. My travel insurance agent said my stroller is covered. I'm not counting on that either though.

I would say..if bringing one..just don't bring your nicest one. It still could get stolen. My MBUD is way to big to put on a bus, too heavy, and I would be heartbroken if it were stolen. As far as being in crowds..people may move out of the way..but it's for fear that you will ram into them. I've heard horror stories of moms plowing their way into and through crowds. I guess whether you bring double or single..be concious of those around you.

We bought a great stroller for that last FL trip..at sears..a Kolcraft travel lightweight for about $30-40. It was great b/c it had a canopy, basket, and reclines. It pushed fine for pavement. It was cheap and a step up from the regular umbrella types.

We too are thinking of getting the side by side clip..though I haven't used one as of yet.

I have a Peg Perego Pliko/P3 and we decided against it because it didn't allow our youngest son to nap while my daughter was standing on the toddler board. (you can't recline it while the other child is standing on the back)

I just wanted to point this out to those of you planning on buying one. It IS a great stroller, but you have limited options with it.

We've done it both ways. Most recently it was two singles (Maclaren Quests...love them BTW!). DSs are a very tall 5 and and a very big & tall 2. On last year's trip we had a Combi Twin Savvy, which worked great until it snapped while we were there. So, for the last 12 months, leading up to our trip 3 weeks ago I've been thinking about nothing but strollers (should I get a double Mac TT or two mac singles??...drove DH NUTS!! ). I went with two doubles and was very happy with the way it turned out. I did bring stroller connectors, which I stored in the basket on one. I needed those two times and the worked fine.

I found two singles easier to manuver around when it was crowded (after fireworks). DSs were not connected to each other so it kept arguing and poking down to a minimum. There was one day when DS5 announced he was old enough to walk and did not need a stroller, so we left one stroller behind that morning. That lasted one day before DS5 was asking "where's my stoller... I NEEEEED it". But I do expect this may the last year he needs/wants a stroller. This was the deciding factor in me not laying out the money for another double.

I will be going with the 2 singles in the future.

Having made 5 trips with a double stroller and one trip (the last trip) with 2 singles I would recommend the 2 singles. They were much easier to handle, easier to load and unload whether in a rental car or on a bus, easy to use in the airport. The double will do the job, but 2 singles will do it better.

I would say if you bring a double stoller please do not bring a side by side double. The hallways are not that wide and it is a pain having to get around them. If you bring anything, bring a front/back double. PLEASE!! Sorry, don't mean to rain on anyone's parade but...

that is what we are thinking as well will have a 4yo and a 2 1/2 yo. debating weather to bring our double or 2 singles.

We went around and around on this one. Ok, I did as DH couldn't care less about this stuff! I decided to bring our Graco duoglider. The kids are familiar with it, DD rides in it easily and I find it easy to push. I take it for long walks up and down hills without DH so if I can do it I am sure he can help me out a little! Also, we are spending 3 days at the resorts, Downtown DIsney without DH before our 'real' vacation begins, so I am not going to be able to handle two strollers without him.

I think it depends what the kids are used to and what you are used to. All in all if you are like me we are fretting over things that will be fine either way!

I am trying to decide if I should bring one double stroller or two single strollers. dd is 18 mos and ds is 3. The double stroller is good for if only one will sit in it, at least there isn't an empty stroller to manage. But it is way heavier and more difficult to maneuver in crowds.
I have pros and cons for both, and cannot decide.
any suggestions from experience?

Definately a double - next visit in Aprl ,kids will be 2 years and 3 and a half.Mind you Im on my own,so no way for two singles.
I think there is more storage in the double and the younger one can still lay in the back of the one I have.
I keep all my pre-frozen bottles of water in the bottom of stroller and I feel happy knowing they are strapped in this is why I choose not to use Disney strollers.

We have a lightweight Peg double stroller, AND 2 Combi lightweight strollers.

We took the two single strollers on our last trip and will take 2 again. For us it worked out great. It was easy in crowds, at the airport and everywhere else. I only use my peg double when it is just me.

Although the Peg is more *expensive* and a nicer stroller, for Disney we like to have a stroller for each baby - I love the Combi for that.
