I needed to extend my stay and added another reservation to my existing package as that was the cheaper option. I was sent two sets of Magicbands for me and my family. Do I use both bands during my trip or will they put my reservations (which are linked in MDE) on one band? Thank you!!

Your MBs are interchangeable and you can use whichever one you want out of the two that you get the whole time. Everything is linked on them.

Remember that there is basically nothing on the MB but a coded identifier that shows it's your band...so now you have TWO MBs that have your identifier on them. The magic bands have no other information on them which is why losing one is no big deal...you just get another one..or in you case...you use the other band.
To use a MB, one must always enter a code or finger print so losing the MB is not a problem...now theoretically if someone found your MB then could gain access to your room...if they knew it was yours, and what resort you were staying at...and what room you were in...and...ya, you get my drift....

I had the same exact thing happen to me. I called them to insure everything was loaded onto a single Magicband. I am not sure if it was necessary, but the representative on the phone made it sound like she was consolidating our information.

As was previously posted - there is no information stored on a MB. The MB is a portal to your MDE which has all the information for your account - hotel reservation(room key), park tickets, FPs, and charging privilidiges. If they CM acted like they were consolidating your information then they were just trying to make you feel better.

I have 10 MBs and every single one of them can be used to open my hotel room, get into a park, FPs, and for room charges every time I go.

You can actually see that both sets are active if you look on MDE. Just click on MagicBands and Cards, and you'll see which of your MagicBands are currently Active. All active MBs will be just fine to use for everything you need. I double-checked this just a few days ago, as we have a split stay coming up next week, plus a set of AP MBs. I asked if we could decline the second set of MBs for the second resort, and use either set of MBs for the entire stay, including to allow us to skip the front desk at the second resort (since we did Online Check-In). The CM I spoke with said that this would be no problem.

Honestly, I'd kinda like to just leave the resort MBs at home, but I'm a little paranoid - going to bring them with us just in case but hoping they never make their way out of the suitcase. :)

I'm here now and have used 6 different ones on different days. It's no big deal. I wear a resort one to water parks and my custom ones to the regular parks. In fact I got shamed and scolded by Minnie Mouse for my Kylo Ren one. :)

10! Lol thought they limited you to 7. That's what someone had told me...oh, or do you mean you purchased some? I think they limit the number they give you.

No, they don't limit you. I do have 2 that I purchased but the other ones are all from stays. I've actually had more than 10 on my account before but I finally deactivated a few. I use looked at MDE and I actually have 13 active right now and I have a new one coming next week so I need to deactivate a few more.

They have never limited the number of MBs you can have or get for free but they have finally put in the option to decline the MB which I have done a few times.

I like having different colors to match what I am wearing that day :)

So, if we want to swap, our girls want to swap colors assigned to them. Is that possible?

Thanks

From what I have read, once a MB is assigned to you, there is no way to assign it to somebody else.

Do you mean the girls have a pink and yellow assigned to each one of them and want to wear a different one each day - then yes this can be done.

If you mean one has pink assigned to her and the other has yellow - then yes this can be done too with the exception of entering the park. If kids have to do the finger scan then each one will need to enter the park with their assigned MB but then after that they can switch as often as they like as long as all FPs are the same. I don't have young kids anymore so not sure if they have to do the finger scan.
