I had to run to K-Mart this morning to get a few things. As I left the store, I naturally caught the light red at the exit. I was the first and only car waiting to exit the store. As the light turned green, for some reason, instead of just pulling out onto the highway, I quickly glanced both ways to be sure there wasn't any traffic. I didn't see any and pulled out onto the road. I swear, the tail end of my car hadn't even cleared the inside lane of oncoming traffic when out of the blue came this large construction-type pick up truck! He fly by me so fast that the wind he created shook the car!! :earseek: He must of been doing at least 75 - 80 !!!! If I hadn't stopped for that instant when pulling out onto the highway, he would of nail me dead on in the driver's side door. :( At the speed he was going, there would of been little chance for my survival. Talk about having your life pass before your eyes!:faint:

Thank goodness there was no other cars exiting the store when I did!::yes::

How scary! I'll say a prayer of thanks for you and your spared life!....................P

Whew, glad you are ok. Take a deep breath...

Same exact thing happened to me when I was 8 months pregnant with DS6. Only it was a huge cement truck. Would have been my driver's side, too. Everytime I see one of those things, I cringe...:(

WOW!! Thank goodness you stopped!!!

Maybe you came back in time and whispered in your ear to stop and look so you could save your own life and change the timeline!

What's really odd about all this was last night (actually early this morning  ), I woke up and couldn't fall back to sleep. All kinds of thoughts about death and how much it has affected my life kept creeping into my mind (I have lost my brother when I was 3, a son when I was 29, my mom when I was 33). I hate when things like that keep me awake. :earseek: I almost wondered if it were some sort of omen that something bad was going to happen to someone close to me.....never imagined that it could of been ME! Kind of puts life into perspective. ::yes:: Think I'll give the kids an extra hug when they get home (despite all their protests!! :p )

So glad you're O.K! Too bad there wasn't a patrol car nearby when that moron truck driver blew through! What a scary experience, but glad you are taking the good out of it. My motto is "appreciate what you have when you have it" (mainly the people you love), but 80% of the time I'm too busy or distracted to remember it. Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for what I've got, since you never know when it'll be gone.

I also think the people you lose in life are around you and look out for you. So maybe one of your loved ones who've passed on was whispering to you when you paused.

:)

I am so glad that you are okay. A close call like that is what keeps me from going through a green light as soon as it turns green.

Sounds like that "something" that made you hesitate was probably an angel from God. So instead of thanking "goodness", maybe you should thank "God":D

AMEN! And I thanked Him for keeping you safe, too.

It sounds like you have a few Angels that are watching closely over you. Glad it wasn't anything serious.

Glad you are safe Colleen. There have been WAY to many accidents in this area in the last month or so. I am totally convinced its because there is so much construction going on around here and people are just so frustrated with sitting in traffic and all the delays that they are just flying around.

A few weeks ago everything seemed to be gridlocked, 95 South, 413 being closed causing so much around Woodbourne and Langhorne-Yardley Road...thankfully it is starting to open up again.

Take it easy and be safe.
