We're currently booked off site for an April trip--11th trip but first off site so while I'm excited about the extra room we'll have in a 2 br I'm already missing the thought of staying onsite. I'll be the sole adult traveling with 2 17 year olds and 2 13 year olds. The thought of us all in one room makes me queasy lol According to the disney chat on its site, I can book 2 rooms even though I'm the only adult. Has anyone heard of this being done?

Unless you get connecting rooms not sure they would allow.. mYbe they could guarantee you connecting rooms based in the situation??

Good luck!! Let us know as with my two getting older I may be in same situation next trip but at this point .. Murphy bed for 13,6 year old..(6 yr old always crashes with her) 5 year old will be my bed buddy as he is most nights and stinky 16 year old brother can have his own bed lol

TONS of groups, thousands of kids travel to Disney with no "adults" in the rooms. I was just there with a group. Over 50 kids and only 4 adults. Each adult had their own room and kids were 4 to a room. They were 14-17 years old.

You should have no issues at all. I would call and ask they be connecting rooms ... and hopefully given your group makeup they will try hard to deliver.

Just remember: Even if they say connecting is guaranteed, it's not.
I do know this is the way things are but what if someone is 1 adult and 7 oh, 5-10 yo? Not impossible at all. Especially since Disney will tell people they are guaranteed connecting rooms. Not everyone (few do actually) realize that what they are told by CM is at times inaccurate. The avg person out there believes it if they are told they can guarantee something.
Do they just not allow this group to check in if they arrive and have not been given connecting rooms? Even with fully paid for reservation? Because I know you can book them. I've booked 2 rooms as 1 adult with me as the lead guest in both. MDE will let you do it. You just have to check out twice, once for each room. Same adult in each.
Surely there are a few very limited times where they will assure connecting rooms.

It was reported on here that this actually happened. Only adult was Mom with large number of young children. Checked in to two rooms, not connecting. If I remember they couldn't do anything the first night and they all slept in one room ... and the second night they were able to move them into connecting.

Disney clearly knew the age of all guests in the room, so this is often included as an example of it is not guaranteed ... but I do think in most instances this would be the only makeup that Disney will do their best to make sure they are connected. But as long as there are two adults or teen children ... I would be prepared for anything OR book something that holds the whole group.
