2 Reservations - Same Resort - Must We Move?

Hi guys! We are renting points from our friends (DVC members) this September for a stay at VWL (they are going too). They decided to extend their trip two more nights. They invited us to do the same, but they had no more points this year to rent to us. On these boards, we were able to secure enought points for the extra two nights, and the separate reservation is already made.

The question is... Will it be possible to stay in the same studio the whole time, and if so, when should we alert member services or the resort of our request to do so?
Thanks very much for any insight!

I would let MS know as soon as you can. We are doing the same in November, but moving from a 1 bedroom into a 2 bedroom. It really would be nice to just be able to open the lock off studio when it was time. But MS said that we have to check out with our luggage then check back in.
I've read on these boards about people linking their confirmation numbers.....not to sure how and what this does for you though.

**see if member services can link the 2 ressies.**

As long as you are staying consecutive nights in the same size unit at VWL, MS should be able to link the reservations so you won't have to move. Call and give them the reservation numbers. Have fun!

Call MS, explain the situation. Often they can link the 2 reservations so that no moving is required. But they won't make you any promises usually.

I have done stuff like this in the past and have always been able to keep the same room. But they do give you the disclaimer.

Can MS link DVC stays with CRO bookings?
No, but the OP had rented additional points, so her stay is from two different owners. At least that's the way I read it.

It depends on if the reservations are exactly the same. A studio could be lockoff or dedicated.

If doing a combination cash/points reservation, I would book the cash part through MS rather than CRO and that way they CAN be linked. Of course, you have to be sure that the reservation is available through MS, and you get DVC-type mousekeeping. (With a CRO reservation you get every day mousekeeping.) By booking the cash nights through MS, you also might be able to get the DVC member discount! ::yes::
