2 Reservations -need help with DDP & Park Tickets

We are arriving Sat 10/22 and staying until Sat 10/29. Unfortunately, had to do two reservations b/c I received a PIN that didn't start until Sun 10/23. So two reservations (First - 1 day only and Second - 6 nights).

Since our reservation is split like that do I have to get two separate DDP and MYW tickets as well? The second reservation doesn't bother me, but I am kind of concerned that MYW tickets for the 1st reservation are going to cost a LOT more if it's only a 1 day ticket. Will they let me do the DDP&MYW package for the entire lenghth of my trip of 7 days or will they make me split it into 1+6?

What I learned is that to get the DDP, you need to have MYW tickets on each stay.

I can forgoe the DDP for the first day but I HATE having to pay $40 more a ticket for that first day.

Just book the one night as a room only reservation, no dining, no tickets. Make sure both reservations are linked as "continuing reservations" so you stand a chance of not having to change rooms. You will have to check out/in to start your second reservation.

You CAN pick up park tickets early that are part of your second reservation package. Add the extra park day to the package, you can have up to a 10 day park ticket. There are several threads with instructions on how to get your park tickets a day or two early. IIRC, it can be done at the park customer service locations, not always at the resorts.

As far as dining, pay OOP. There are great counter service locations even for dinner.

It does say "continuing reservation" on my first res.

I always thought the park tickets were connected to the number of nights on your reservation...but maybe this is only the case with the DP? Will definitely research threads on how to get park tickets a day earlier....would rather pay only $5 more (x4) for another days ticket vs $80 (x4).
