2 Redheads and 1 Brunette take on Disney, with pics!! FINISHED!!

The first store we headed into (single file mind you), the first doorway. . . .A guy was coming out. Fine, okay.. .I will stay to the right, there is enough room for both of us, and it’s cool. I don't take up THAT much space.

However, his lady friend, decided to come out at the same time too. . . .And not single file behind him . . . but on my right!

They almost took me down like a couple of linebackers!

And then proceeded to plow through Jen too!

Now, I was too shocked and rattled (and too busy trying not to fall over) to say anything. . .but Jen managed to get a nice "You couldn't have waited ONE second." out, as the woman walked away.

With a couple of sore shoulders for both of us, I was able to find the elusive t-shirt for soon to be MIL and forever keep the soon to be "Best Daughter in Law Ever" title (I actually will be the only daughter in law.. so I guess that makes me the best and the worst at the same time! )

Main Street at about 5:00 PM:

MK0616.jpg

We were all starting to get hungry again at this point, so we decided to check back on Space Mountain one last time before rustling up some grub.

It was finally our time! It was up and running!!! :thumbsup2 And on our way out we met a disboarder!! She noticed the Lime Green Mickey Head on Jen's purse and asked us about it. . . . It was Lisa*somethingorother*. ( Sorry. I don’t remember the name. I had nothing to write it down on.)

We headed over to Pinocchio’s for dinner, per the request of Michelle (It was her one request besides the Safari). Dinner was good, but we all agreed that it was nothing to write home about. Michelle said that they used to have hot dogs there, and that's what she was hoping to eat. . . .they don't have them anymore. $36 of free Disney Food.

We were all pretty pooped by this point (I think it was nearly 7:30- 8pm or so) so we decided to stake out a place for Spectomagic and rest our tired little feet.

We planned on trying out Liberty Square, and got ourselves a couple of wall seats.

A nice family sat down next to us. Mom, Dad, Big Sister, Big Brother, and Little Sister. They were adorable to watch. Dad disappeared for a little bit, and came back with toys for the kiddies that he picked out all on his own. They were all different- and each kid loved the one they got! (Way to go Dad! :thumbsup2 )

And then we waited. :bored:

And waited. :bored:

And waited. :bored:

And waited. :bored:

We watched the clouds roll in.

MK0618.jpg

And at about 5 minutes before 9pm. . . .it happened.

The rain, rain, rain REALLY came down, down, down. :umbrella: We had ponchos- so we just stayed right we were. But everyone else ran for their lives- as if they were going to melt like the wicked witch of the west!

And then the announcement: Spectomagic will be postponed due to rain and the safety of the performers. :worried:

5 minutes later- same announcement. This does not look good. :worried:

5 minutes later- same announcement. :worried:

Finally, at about 9:20 pm. They gave up. No Spectromagic tonight.

Disappointed, we headed over to Pirates for one last ride before making our way back toward the Castle for Wishes. pirate: We were lucky enough to have a few more flash photographers on this ride as well, but they weren't quite as bad as our friends from this morning, just an occasional flash here and there, not constant. (Wow, it is pretty bad when you are happy with that!)

We watched Wishes from the bridge between the hub and Liberty Square. It wasn’t the best view (I think I prefer somewhere on Main Street), but the fireworks were great anyhow. We took our time and didn't rush out with the masses, and enjoyed the park as it emptied.

MK0619.jpg

Finally we joined the crowds waiting for the monorail, and made it back to our resort.

Jen and Michelle showered up and I braided their hair for our final park day tomorrow at Epcot.

Next time: Our beginning of the end- the morning of our last park day! :sad2:

Cool pic by me. That cloud had some serious cloud-to-cloud lightning. We figured Spectro would be cancelled, we just hoped it wasn't going to be true. :sad1:

It still amazes me how many rude people you guys encountered.....I've been to Disney about 5 times now, and I don't think i've had that many problems in those 5 trips combined!

At least you still had your spirits up....those rainclouds that cancelled spectro would've bummed me right out!

Day 4 September 3rd Epcot

‘Zip-a-dee-do-dah’ the alarm goes off at 7:00 AM. I drag my sorry bum out of bed, and shower up. :coffee: After braiding my hair to match the girls (but a sad, pathetic, messier version- I am much better at doing it on other people since this is the first time in a few years that my own hair has been long enough to even attempt it- I am out of practice!), we head out by about 8:00 AM.

We make it to Epcot for opening. I used to really like the opening at Epcot. Back when they brought out the bus with all the characters. That way everyone could see something. This new opening with the car from test track leaves something to be desired. We couldn’t see it at all.

DisneyPhotoImage5.jpg

I grabbed all our tickets and booked it to Soarin with the huge crowd to get fastpasses. Michelle and Jen caught up with me just as I was walking away from the kiosk. We hopped in line right away, so that we could get two rides in before the day was over. It was a few minute wait, that I spent watching one MeanMom dragging her son through the crowd to the front.

I became curious, and watched closely (since there isn't too much to entertain you in this queue) :magnify: . . . hoping that she was going to meet up with the rest of her family. . . however it didn’t seem likely.

Just moments later, we are shuffled into our loading zone. And who is in front of me. . .MeanMom and son. And I was right. They are alone. No other family members. That really gets me. Wait like everyone else, lady! It's not cool to cut!

I whisper to Jen to ask her to stand next to MeanMom, because I am trying to be polite and not say anything.

Jen obliges saying, loud enough for everyone in the loading zone to hear, “Oh, THIS is the lady that felt she had the right to cut in front of everyone else already waiting, right?” :rotfl2:

MeanMom looks at Jen like a deer in headlights . . . . Lowers her head and turns around to face the screen. . . saying nothing . . her back completely facing Jen. You could hear a pin drop as MeanMom was quieter than a mouse, and the rest of the line gave Jen a little knowing smile, thanking her for being gutsy enough to say something! ;)

After our briefing, we head in to hop on our gliders for our flight. MeanMom is quieter than a mouse. She loads her son up as quick as can be and hops into her seat and stares at her hands.

We had a great flight. MeanMom didn’t say anything the whole time. No “Aaaahhhh”. No “Oooohhh”. Nothing. :lmao:

She hurried away from us as soon as we exited the ride. . . .And hopefully she didn’t try to cut anyone else that day. :thumbsup2

Our next stop was Test Track, so off we went! It was a walk on, and as good as ever. We got a bonus this time, because we were able to put the ride photo on our photopass card! I can’t wait until they use this feature for all of the rides. I think it’s awesome!

DisneyPhotoImage13.jpg

We picked up an extra Test Track Fastpass for later, and with it got a Surprise Fastpass for Mission Space. We had already decided that we wouldn’t be riding Mission Space this trip- so we gave the passes away to another family that we saw.

We strolled through Innoventions East and checked out the displays on our way to Spaceship Earth. I also called my fiancé on this one too, just to let him hear some more of the fun he was missing.

EPCOT067.jpg

At this point we were getting hungry, and we had plenty of snack points to use up. So we stopped at the Fountainview Café to get a bite. We each had pastry and a drink and used the rest of our snack credits. $14 that we didn’t have to pay. The Fountainview Café food was great, but a little location was a little too small, and there wasn’t too much seating. A little too crowded.

We poked into the new Club Cool next, but there wasn’t much of anything to taste test. Each station only had about 2-3 working beverages. :drinking1

We strolled over to Journey into Imagination with Figment next. I know that a lot of people don’t like this ride, but I think it is cute, and always enjoy it. My favorite part is sending the email photo on the way out. We took a photo and added all kinds of silly accessories.

Hopefully this link will bring you to our photo:
Epcot Photo

We headed back to the Land Pavilion to ride Soarin one more time with out fastpasses. This time, no one tried to cut us. ;)

We were going to do the Living with the Land ride as well, but the wait was 45 minutes, and the fastpass return time was a couple of hours away, so we skipped it.

We headed over to The Living Seas next door, and poked around for a bit, but didn’t spend too long because there was about half a million people in there. And most of them were waiting in line for Turtle Talk with Crush. It was insane in there!

EPCOT062.jpg

Next time: Lunch at LeCellier, and the Visa Meet and Greet!!

Now see, we are nice girls. We thought that MeanMom had troubles with junior and was now trying to find the rest of her family. NOPE! :furious:

How in the WORLD do people think they are better than others?! I just don't understand for the life of me. She made me so upset when I saw her there. I hope she felt guilty afterwards. This woman was all Miss Priss too with her manicured nails and her son in Ralph Lauren polo. She did hold her son very close to her after I said that too like I was going to hurt the child. Never. She is the idiot, and I pray to God her son does not turn out the same way. :sad2:

I really hope that they do this with the rest of the parks because I never buy ride photos and I will most likely buy a Photopass CD with all the ride photos on there.

It amazes me how rude some people are! :bitelip: I really need to bite my tongue sometimes not to be snotty to them! Unfortunately, I usually say something! Good for Jenn for being brave enough to say something. I am getting the impression she is the "gutsy" one in the group! :lmao:

Sounds like the day is going well so far otherwise. Can't wait for more!!! :Pinkbounc

edit: OH YEAH....I love the Epcot Email Pic! You can tell you gals had fun with that!
:joker: :wizard: pirate:

I had a run-in with that shark once, and he bit me good! I'm glad that you two made it out ok....

Epcot is the best! So much to see and do, there's always something new! I've never even heard of the FountainView Cafe!

Answer me this, did Ice Station Cool have Kinley???? That stuff is the best!

Thanks for the installments and keep them coming

At this point, it was about 24 hours out from our flight the next day. So I called my fiancé, and gave him all the flight info, so that he could check us in online. We were hoping to get into the A line again, so that we could all sit together.

We used our Fastpasses to ride Test Track one more time, making silly faces for the photo. I hope we didn’t ruin the photo for the people riding in the backseat with us!!

DisneyPhotoImage12.jpg

We decided to poke around in Mouse Gears a bit on our way to Innoventions West for to see if we could hop in line for the Disney Visa Meet and Greet. It was about 12:45pm and the Meet and Greet started at 1:00pm. The line was about 15 people deep. 15 people is normally a very short line for Disney. . . but we had reservations at Le Cellier for 1:30pm, so we didn’t get in line, and just headed over to Canada to check in a bit early.

EPCOT066.jpg

This was the longest we waited all trip to be seated for a meal . . .and it really wasn’t that bad- Maybe about 25 minutes. We were waiting in the nice air conditioning, which was great. And the CM’s in Canada keep us all entertained with Canadian trivia. Jen won a badge answering a question about hockey (I think. . .I know it was a sport! :rotfl: ). :thumbsup2 I won a badge when they ran out of Canada questions, and asked something about Epcot! ;)

Finally we were seated. Lunch was delicious. This was my second time eating lunch here, and it was just as good as the first.

EPCOT063.jpg

EPCOT065.jpg

Free Lunch: $110

After we finished up, we headed right back over to the Disney Visa Meet and Greet. There was no line this time, and we headed right in to find Mickey, Goofy and Donald waiting for us.

We took a couple of shots, and then headed out- as much as we like our photos with the characters, we like to keep it short and sweet, it leaves more time for the kiddies.

DisneyPhotoImage11.jpg

DisneyPhotoImage6.jpg

We went right to the photo store to pick out our free photos. All three of us have Disney Visas, but Michelle forgot hers at home. So as Frank was helping us pick out our photos, he was kind enough to let Michelle pick out one too! He just couldn’t let us walk away with only 2 photos for 3 girls! Thanks, Frank! You rock!! :smooth:

Next up was our trek around the world. We made a pit stop at the Odyssey center to use the restroom before heading out on our long journey. As we made our way into Mexico . . .the skies opened up and the rain began to pour down. It was like a madhouse. People running every which way . . . total chaos . . .

Next: It is really fun to run through the raindrops in Epcot? We will find out!

I think it's awesome that they put your test track pics on the photopass cd....what a good idea. I hope they follow through with that on all the rides with photos!

mmmmm......look at those desserts....

It was BASEBALL!! They asked what the name of the Canadian baseball team was. For those that don't know, its the Toronto Blue Jays. :goodvibes

The photographer took shots of us as soon as we were in view even though we weren't looking at the camera in half of them! Hence why Michelle is looking over at me. I can't remember what she was telling me though :confused3

We made our way to Mexioco and had a nice little ride on El Rio Del Tiempo. Then we made our way to Norway. The wait for Maelstrom was 30 minutes: Likely due to everyone trying to get out of the rain at once. So we skipped it. We popped into a store to adjust our ponchos really quickly. Every store and shop was PACKED with people. Elbow to elbow. All trying to stay dry.

We kept going.

The rain was cold, and coming down very hard, so it made it tough to enjoy the sites as we went along. :sad1: You couldn’t really look up where you were going as you walked without drenching your face and having it run down your neck. I got a great view of the walkways though!

We stopped in the shops in China, Germany, and Italy and tried to enjoy looking around as we maneuvered around the tons of people. We were not really having fun. :guilty:

We saw American Adventure- which was a great retreat from the pouring ran and crowded stores. The show is actually quite good, and the seats are quite comfortable. The only downside was that since we were soaked to the bone, it was very chilly inside!!

As we headed out of the American Adventure, the rain seemed to let up a bit. Just a drizzle here and there, so we were able to enjoy Morocco, Japan and France much more comfortably. I just love exploring all the little nooks and crannies of the World Showcase. There is so much to see there.

EPCOT069.jpg

EPCOT0611.jpg

But luck just wasn’t with us today, and just as we were walking into England, the rain started to come down again. This being our last full day and around 5:00pm: We were tired, we were cranky, we were starting to get sick of dealing with the rain. So as I chomped down a Mickey Ice Cream :mickeybar , we started to think about ways to kill some time in order to duke it out to see Illuminations that night.

EPCOT0612.jpg

EPCOT0613.jpg

Maybe a ride on the monorail to get out of the rain for a bit then some dinner. . . . but the more we talked, the more we realized: None of us were that keen on waiting for Illuminations at all. We were tired, and wet, and Illuminations was the least favorite of all nighttime shows for all three of us. (Better than any regular night granted, but still our least favorite when up against Wishes or Fantasmic.) We didn't want to push our luck and ruin the end of such a great vacation by being grumpy.

So we headed back into the photo store, to have our Photopass CD made. (We just had one made, and split the cost three ways. Then when we got home, we burnt a CD for each of us. Works like a charm!) Then it was off to the car and back to the All Star Movies.

After dropping our stuff off at the room, and changing out of any wet clothes (oh how great it felt to be dry!!), we headed back down to the World Premiere Food Court for our last free meal!

EPCOT0614.jpg

The food was very good, hot and fresh. I had to wait a little bit for the quesadillas, but they were totally worth it in the end. Both Michelle and Jen had pizza.
We had a little situation, when going back to pick up our dessert: We had picked out the ‘make your own ice cream sandwich’ for dessert. When we done eating and headed over to make our ice cream sandwiches after we had finished eating, there were no cookies left! So we had to speak to the manager to get the okay to switch out that dessert for something else. He was very helpful. Last free Disney Meal: $42

Grand Total of Free food: $605

We headed back to our room (for the last time) with our treats and packed up. After finishing up the packing, we just hung around, watching TV, before turning in for the night.

P.S. As you can tell, there aren't a lot of pictures from this afternoon, since it was raining so much we didn't want to take out the camera! I don't know how I ended up in all of them!!

Next time: It really is the end!

Just so people know, and don't think we are cheap, once you purchase the Photopass CD you have full permission to copy it. There is a label on the back of the CD with the copyright instructions so you can take the CD to your local Wal-Mart/CVS, ect to have copies made. :thumbsup2

Thats because I had the camera and didn't want to be in the pictures on account that I looked like a drowned rat :umbrella:

Dang! $605 worth of free food....THAT'S CRAZY!

It's a wonder that you all didn't get sick transitioning from the hot and muggy days, to the cold and rainy ones. I like Illuminations alot, and even I would've skipped it because of the rain...

Love the Mickey ice cream bar emoticon too! Never seen that one before!

Day 5 September 4th Downtown Disney and the Flight Home

There isn’t too much to tell about this day. The day of the flight home is always bittersweet to me. I have just enjoyed such a wonderful vacation, but now, I have to head back to reality. :sad2:

We woke up later than any other day all week, at about 9:30am or so. We showered up, packed up all the last minute items, and made sure to be out of the room before the 11:00am check out time (after a quick call to the desk to make sure we didn’t need to come down there for anything).

We packed up the car and headed to Downtown Disney. We spent some time at the World of Disney, and the Christmas Store, as well as the home store. Picking up all of the souvenirs that we could get our hands on. (I am starting to think that Downtown Disney is not the best place to stop on your last day. It always makes me want to buy so many things, most of which I don’t really need at all. Last Day Disney Depression- it makes you want to bring as much magic home with you as you can.)

We stopped at the Earl of Sandwich for lunch. The food was great, but it was pretty painful to have to pay for food again!

And then we headed out to the airport. I was sad knowing that a trip like this one would probably never happen again. As we silently drove to the airport, we saw a sign in the sky. A sign that I think means it was an unforgettable trip for all of us. A good friend was wishing us a final farewell.

I’ll let you decide for yourself, to see if you see what we saw:

ASMo069.jpg

We returned the rental car with no issues, changed into our sweats for the flight and headed through security. We made it in plenty of time for our flight, and spent about a half an hour sitting on the floor in the Section A waiting to board.

We managed three seats together, and had a perfectly uneventful flight home. I spent the flight home mostly thinking about my favorite moments of the trip. Not necessarily things that actually happened. . . .but the way I felt during certain moments, and how I will always remember exactly how I felt then- perfectly happy- just the way we look in the photos. Here are a few of my favorite pics- some you may have seen already, and some you haven’t.

My fiancé was planning on picking us up at the airport; however, Jen’s boyfriend surprised her by being there too, with flowers- what a sweetie!! :flower3:

As we headed out to the cars to split up, we said our goodbyes. That was the end of our trip: A trip unlike any other, a trip that will likely never happen again, but a trip that I will certainly never forget. Our trip. Me and my two best friends. I love you girls.

I know how lucky I was to have this trip actually happen once . . . and that the odds that it will happen again is very slim . . . since we are all suddenly becoming so adult (with all sorts of adult issues becoming more important to each of us) but maybe . . . some day. . . .Years from now . . . the stars will align just right one more time . . . and I will get to go to Disney one more time with my two best friends.

Maybe with my best friends, and our own three little princesses (or pirates).

A girl can dream, right?
