mmmm those desserts! yummy. How was the food quality? that steak looks huge. Did you try and good drinks? :drinking1

The desserts WERE yummy! :Pinkbounc

The skillet was delicious. Kim and I shared that and thought it was very good. Michelle had the steak and as I recall, she didn't like it very much. I can't remember if it was undercooked or she just didn't enjoy it at all.

...that looks like....is that s'mores cheesecake??? I'm so all over that in January! Can't wait to have a look at the Wilderness Lodge for myself too!

:dogdance:

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Sorry, busy weekend- no time to post! Glad everyone is enjoying the report! Here is a little more for ya!

Day 3 September 2nd Magic Kingdom

With each day, waking up was getting harder and harder. But we made it to the Magic Kingdom by 8:30am for the 9am opening.

I love the opening ceremony at the Magic Kingdom! :yay: It really gets me in the mood for a magical day! And as much as I wish it were me up there helping open the park, the families that I have seen, always look so gosh darn happy!

We made our way up Main Street, enjoying the familiar sights and smells, stopping to take the obligatory photo in front of the castle.

DisneyPhotoImage17.jpg

We headed to Space Mountain first. But, alas, it was closed. The CM manning the door assured us that it would be open later today. So we grabbed a fastpass, and headed to Buzz Lightyear, where we all rode separately for some serious competition.

Jen, of course, kicked both of our butts. . . . by a lot (as in, we still would not have had a chance even if Michelle and I added our scores together- I think I need to get Jen to give me lessons!! :worship: )

We were able to get through a bunch of rides at record speed: Next the Rain, Rain, Rain came Down, Down, Down at Winnie the Pooh, then to the Scary Adventures of Snow White, off to Neverland with Peter Pan, remembering that It really is a Small World after all, and the Grim Grinning Ghosts at Haunted Mansion. Everything was pretty much a walk on- talk about pixie dust! pixiedust:

We grabbed a Fastpass for Splash Mountain as we hopped in line. I love this ride, and was happy that we would be returning to Our Laughing Place again later in the day  . It was actually Michelle's first time on Splash Mountain (her last trip was during the week of the 4th of July- and the wait time was insane). I did notice that this trip was the first time I ever really got ‘splashed’ on Splash Mountain.

We moved over to Big Thunder. I always forget how fun this ride is until I am on it. I rode alone and was sliding back and forth in my seat. We walked right back on immediately for a second ride.

Next up was Pirates of the Caribbean pirate: . I was very, very excited about this. I have always loved Pirates :thumbsup2 (even before the movies), and I was looking forward to checking out the changes FINALLY! This is where we encountered our first real 'wait' all day :rolleyes2 . It took about 15 minutes to get on, and as soon as we sat down, I knew that we were in for a rough ride.
There was a group of ladies behind us, who where hyper and chatty :hyper2: but more importantly (and annoying)- They kept using flash photography through the entire ride.
Jen was great. She kept saying to Michelle and I loudly "NOW YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY ON THIS RIDE RIGHT, KIM?? AND BE SURE TO TURN OFF THE FLASH ON YOUR CAMERA, MICHELLE" in the hopes that the girls behind us would buy a clue.

They didn’t. :confused3

We tried to enjoy what we could, and I was really happy with the changes. However I was unhappy with the rude ladies behind us, it kind of ruined the ride. I was secretly hoping that we would be able to fit in a second ride again later- minus the flash photography.

As we were headed out of the Pirates gift shop we were able to catch the show with Jack Sparrow. I checked on the time, since we had a 12:00 noon reservation at the Crystal Palace. . .but it was only 11:00am! Boy we accomplished a lot- everything I was hoping we would get done before lunch, with an hour to spare! So we hung around and watched the show in its entirety.

Now. . One thing I haven't mentioned nearly enough in this report was that it was HOT. No, not even just HOT. . . it was walking on the sun HOT. . . living in a fire HOT. . . feel like your skin is melting HOT. The midday stops for lunch and sustenance made all the difference to improve our condition (and our attitudes) for the afternoons. So we headed over to the Crystal Palace about a half an hour early, stopping along the way only to pick up a FastPass for the Jungle Cruise.

Up next, our server Judd actually stumps us with Disney Trivia!

Ugh...the flash photography kills me....they tell you not to do it on every ride! Why do people still insist on doing it as if the rules don't apply to them!!!!

Did you guys make it back to POC a second time?

I love your trip report and all of the pictures. Too bad about the rude ladies with the flash photography, I hope that doesn't happen on our upcomming trip. :sad2:

That is amazing how fast you got through all those rides!
:woohoo: Way To Go!!!

You're TR & experiences are getting me even more excited for my trip with 3 friends!
I don't want to wait that long, but, I need to save money!!! :confused3 Oh well!

Anyway, looking forward to more and what happened at the Crystal Palace! :teeth:

Hope you're back soon!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Not only did she not stop, but I turned around and said "NO FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY." The woman who was taking the pictures says to her friends "how come I can't take flash photography?" So they told her to turn her flash off and she continued to take pictures until I said something again. Acting all innocent she says "oh, did the flash go off?!" :furious: I gave up after that. Thanks for ruining the new Pirates pirate: lady!!

OFF TO THE CRYSTAL PALACE!!

We were seated almost exactly at noon, with Judd as our server. He was great, and kept us on our toes with Disney trivia. We are very well knowledgeable in that category- We have been studying for years!

But he did manage to stump us with: Donald Duck has three nephews: Huey, Duey and Louie. What are the names of Daisy Duck's three nieces?:confused3

He brought us LOTS of refills on beverages- he even refilled my Nalgene bottle with ice water to take with me at the end of the meal. The food was great, and Pooh and Friends took some great photos with us.

MK0610.jpg

MK0611.jpg

I would definitely go back here. Free food: $78

And for everyone who didn't know: The answer to Daisy's niece’s names is April, May, and June- I won't forget that one again!

We strolled over to Toontown to take a look at Minnie and Mickey's houses. They were PACKED with people :crowded: , so we made it through kind of quickly and over to take the train around the park.

I like the train ride. It is relaxing, you can see the sites on your way, plus you get a little breeze to relieve that afternoon heat. When we were stopped at the Main Street Station we could see Mickey and Minnie out front taking pictures with people in front of the train station. That must be a great photo. I will have to remember that for future trips!

We hopped off in Frontierland to use of Splash Mountain Fast Passes and walked right onto the ride, while others waited the posted 40 minutes. I was thankful for the splash at the end this time, since it provided some temporary cooling.

Next up was our Fastpasses for the Jungle Cruise. Matt was our guide today, and he clearly loved his job and the Jungle Cruise, which I think makes a HUGE difference on this ride. And he showed us something you don’t get to see everywhere.. . The backside of water! (Come on, you know your jealous! :lmao: :lmao: )

We followed up the Jungle Cruise in the Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room (that darn song ALWAYS gets stuck in my head).

We were going see the Country Bear Jamboree next, but the wait was 20 minutes, and the afternoon parade was about to start. So instead we cut across the parade route and went into the Hall of Presidents. I cannot stress how great those seats and air conditioning is in the middle of the afternoon. A perfect resting place, plus a nice little show.

The parade was just ending as we headed out of The Hall of Presidents (Perfect Timing!), so we headed back to Fantasyland to do a real crowd pleaser- Mickey's Philharmagic.

We head in, pick up our 'oprey glasses' and head into the theater. We select our row, and try to proceed to the last available seat, per the constant instructions by the CMs. But here we came across them again- the people who won’t go to the end of the row!

Between the Flash Photograph and not moving to the end of the row- Rudeness in the Magic Kingdom! It’s an epidemic!

So after asking them to please move down to the next available seat, with them completely ignoring us- We proceed to CLIMB OVER them.

After Philharmagic we decided to head back to Tomorrowland to finish up all the things we had missed. Space Mountain was still not operating, although we had to walk all the way up the Fastpass line before we found out- The CM at the entrance was just letting people in.

So we headed to Carousel of Progress. We sat up front, so that we could get a good view, and I took out my cell phone just as the show was starting. Don't worry. I didn't talk through the show. . . but I did call my fiancé . . . and without saying a word. . . held out the phone for him to listen for little while (He loves the Carousel of Progress- and actually, he was out golfing with Jen's boyfriend, and they took turns listening and taking swings!! :rotfl: ).

Next we rode the Tomorrowland Transit Authority after stopping really quickly for a water, and a soda :drinking: ($5 free Disney food), and saw that Space Mountain was STILL not operating, and the lights were on inside . . . so we did Stitch's Great Escape before heading to Main Street for a little shopping.

You see, I was on a mission. A mission to please my soon to be MIL. To find the one t-shirt that she didn't buy on the last trip. So we headed into the stores.

Next time: Main Street is where we find that RUDENESS really IS AN EPIDEMIC! :scared: :faint:

Yup...Carousel of Progress is one of my favorite attractions (it's a classic!) so having my sweetie call when she was in it was great! It was a nice break from all the 7's and 8's I was shooting that day! :thumbsup2

Seriously people, who knew this?! :confused3

You forgot to mention how Michelle got pushed over just so people could rush to get on the train! You would have thought that they were giving out Magical Wishes to the first to board. :confused3 :moped:

I do believe there were a few toes stepped on this time by me :rolleyes1 :teeth:

There were a lot of people waiting inside that claustrophobics hell for hours. :sad2: When we turned around to exit, people were asking us what was going on. We informed them that the ride was down and they didn't have an ETA. I felt bad for them.

I forgot about that!! People at the MK that day were really quite annoying! Worst day for common decency all trip! It's a shame. You would think people were capable of being respectable to each other!!

When someone behind you is taking flash pictures, and they aren't supposed to be, just turn your flash on, turn around to face them, say "HEY!", and take their picture.

Then while they're trying to recover their eyesight, say "See? that's why there's no flash photography on this ride!"

Did you know that Chip and Dale had a girlfriend?

Hi lucky978! Nice to "meet" you too! I live in Lowell and work in Andover. Lets all sing! "Its a small world after all, its a small world after all....." :rolleyes1

How fun would that be to come along! Kim needs a brunette to help her out. Us redheads dominate :flower1: But are you sure you want to come with us? You did read how much of a big mouth I have and if they think the rules do not apply to them, I let them know ;)

I was heading to bed earlier and thought I'd glance real quick at this thread and ended up staying a while...

I was totally captivated the whole time and I am really anxious for our trip now too. 150 more days to go... *sigh*

Excellent, creative writing. Well done. :) I've enjoyed every word.

Love the pictures!

So... when's the next trip?

Morning everyone! Glad everyone is enjoying the trip report!

A few notes:

Goofster57- I did actually know that Chip and Dale had a girlfriend (told ya we were pretty good at that stuff ;) ). Didn't they fight over her? And I want to say that her name is Clarice or something like that.

Lucky978- Nice to meet you too! (And yes, there certainly are times that I could use another Brunette to balance things out!- but I love my redheaded best friends! I wouldn't change them for the world. :goodvibes )

Not-too-old4fun- Glad you are liking the report! The next trip? Well nothing planned for all three of us yet (hmm, I better start working on that), but Jen and her boyfriend, my fiance and I are all going on a cruise together in September! :boat: My first one! :cool1:

Be right back with more report!!
