First is anyone whom has done it, is there a better time or does it matter if you do the first in the morning, last etc......second question is the "back" entrance to epcot open that early since WS isn't? You have to meet for the tour at the FW entrance so can you use the WS entrance anyway even though it isn't open that early? THanks

My DH and DB did it last year. They had so much fun they are still talking about it and I'm booking it for them again! They went on the first tour of the day. The advantage to that one was that World Showcase is still closed when you are touring through there so it gives you a little more freedom when you ride.

You can use the back entrance at that time in the morning. You have to have a confirmation number and they will check the list (at least they did last year!)

I'm sure you'll have a great time! Enjoy! :Pinkbounc

The wife and I did this tour in March and absolutely loved it. We did the 1st tour of the day and I'd recommend doing that one. We got to ride through the World Showcase without anyone else there and it was great. The back enterence is closed at that time of the morning, but if you tell the guard that you are booked on the Segway tour, they will let you enter.

Have fun!

Around the world on a Segway has recently added another time slot, so I have chose the 9am time; it gives us a few extra minutes to get ready in the morning & we will be finished by the time WS opens at 11am. It is an anniversary surprise for my DH!

I will reinforce that the early tour is better. The WS is empty except for some maintenance crews and much easier to maneuver. When we stopped at the American Adventure for a photo op, a group of characters appeared and we had them all to ourselves.

You can enter from the Int'l Gateway, but they will probably hold you there until they get an "all clear" from the maintenance personnel.

DH and i doing the 9:30 tour---maybe i should make it earlier.

but dont you think they would time even the later tour so that no one is in the WS to get ran over ( :rotfl2: can you tell i am already getting prepared-- this is also a warning! :rotfl2: i will be there sept 22- steer clear! )

or do they still do the tour with the WS open??

Thanks.

We did the 9:00 AM tour on 5/6/06 and the 8:30 AM on 5/12/06 (yes, it was that much fun, and I should have booked three times instead on just the two).

We thought the 9:00 was a better tour, since there were less maintenance vehicles in the world showcase. On the 8:30 tour, two of the "challanges" that the CMs lead you through were blocked by the maintenance workers, so we missed out on doing them a second time.

Also, after the 9:00 AM tour, there are more people in the open sections of the park, which makes the ride back more fun, since you get all those envious glances and thumbs up! You will love it!

We did the 9:30 a.m. Segway Tour last year and loved it. We entered through the International Gateway (we were staying at the Boardwalk Inn) with no problems at all. We went right in.

I liked the 9:30 tour because by the time we were finished there were people in the park and they thought we were so cool. :cool1: We were quite popular and that was big fun!

Enjoy!

ooooo- Jealousy...i like it..... princess:

changed my 9:30 to 9am......

I booked my DH and my DS for the 9 AM tour on June 21. After reading all these posts I'm so glad I booked the first one of the day. I did wonder about getting in through the IG before 9 so you guys have already answered that Question for me to. Thank you.

This is the first time they have done this tour and they're real excited about it. I think they're going to love it.

Michele

You cannot enter through the International Gateway anymore for early segway tours as of two weeks ago!

When i called to make my ressies (they have 3 times actually the first is 8:30, then 9 and 9:30) they told me i had to register @ guest relations outside the front of the park-- so if you are coming in thru IG, you will need to go to the front....

ooooo- and another question....sorry i should have added to my post above....

what time to the buses start running from the resorts to EPCOT.....can you tell i dont get out of my room until about 10am or after! :rotfl2:

So my question is, we are staying at BCV which does not have busses that go to Epcot. If they do not let you in through the IG, even though you have a conf. # for the tour, I guess we will have to call a cab or is there a path you can walk to take you to the front of the park?

Michele

When we did our tours, we were staying at the Boardwalk, so we taxied over and walked back afterwards.

If you have an 8:30 Tour, remember the parking lot on normal days does not open until EXACTLY 8 AM.

We waited at the parking lot gate until the lot opened, the taxi dropped us at the bus unloading area. Then we had a short walk to the PRINCESS gate (far left side where our names were on the early admit list) and into the park.

Great time to take photos in front of the golf ball since the park is empty.

Guest relations is on the left side past the ball, you sign in there.

Thank you so much for the info. It's something we didn't think about when we made the ressie. We always like to have a heads up and kinda know what to expect before we go. Thanks again.

I did the segway tour and loved it! We did the first tour in the morning. I like doing things early and I would recommend the first tour because the park is pretty much deserted. I don't think the WS entrance is open for the tour, but I don't know for sure.

You are welcome, I found a lot of this information on the DIS, and like you, I like to know what to expect prior.

You will have a blast, the tour was the highlight of our recent trip.

So, wait. Does the International Gateway open in the morning or not? When I was at the Boardwalk it didn't look like Buses ran to Epcot?! It wasn't on the bus stop signs. So how do guests at the BW/S&D/BC/YC get in in the morning?

I've always wanted to do this tour! It sounds like so much fun. But like most of you I like to get all my facts straightened out. We have seasonal passes to disney so we try to pay for parking as little as possible. :goodvibes
