2 Princesses, a mom and Grumpy-1st Trip Final Thoughts

Hey Mary! Just got caught up with your TR, it's been awhile since i've been on the DIS. I just got back myself and had a wonderful time, as it looks like you did! Hopefully I'm back now and can keep up with your TR!

Hiya, welcome back to the Dis. Glad you had a great time! We did too. Glad to have you reading along.

Mon May 18th last part

After riding the speedway we headed to the bridge by the castle for Wishes. The moment I heard the "star light, star bright" I had big tears. The girls still sing it all the time. I took tons of pics of the fireworks but will just share a few. Used my fireworks setting on my camera.

We all loved Wishes-so magical. I cannot wait to see it again. We then made our way down Main Street which was pretty crowded. Our bus driver on the way back to CBR was great. He sang, told jokes and gave us lots of interesting Disney facts. Made the ride go quickly. We went back to the room and went to sleep.

We were very happy we did not let our not so fun experieince at CP ruin the rest of the night cause it turned out to be one if not the best.

Tues May 19th

I will warn you ahead of time this update only has one pic and it is at the end of the day. There was just to much rain to take to many pics.

We awoke, had bkfst in the room and headed off to DHS. It started drizzling within moments of our arrival. Our first "ride" was the Voyage of the Little Mermaid. Ariel is the girl's favorite princess and the LOVED this show. I also enjoyed it. Jeff and Avery then went to try out The Tower of Terror. Avery did fine on it but said it went up and down too many times. Cayley and I wandered around while we were waiting.
We then went to see the Magic of Animation. It was ok. Neither girls wanted their pics taken with any of the characters.
We then had a lunch ADR at Sci-Fi. The food here was ok. I am not sure what we ate but I did really like the apple crisp for dessert.
After lunch we waited in the rain for the Playhouse DIsney show. Found it to be very cute. All of us enjoyed it.
At this point is was raining pretty hard so we decided to take the boat over to Epcot in hopes it would slow. A side note, Cayley had been potty trained for about 2 monthes when we were at WDW. She is also a girl who needs to go a lot-so much in fact I have had her tested for bladder infections and diabettes. So I made her go before we left DHS and got on the boat. I asked Avery if she needed to go too. "Nope" So we are walking down to the boat-almost there-in the pouring rain and Avery says she needs to go. I was angry, I used a "not so nice mommy"voice and led her back to the bathroom. In the bathroom I continued to use a "not so nice mommy voice" We then waded back to the boat. We now have a new potty rule. If anyone needs to go to the restroom WE ALL GO. I can tell ya I know where they ALL are........

Cayley fell asleep on the boat in the stroller. Avery had a good time watching the rain. We arrived at Epcot and it was POURING. If you are reading Lessa's report insert "water up to your ankles" pic now. We walked over to Norway and got some school bread. It was pretty good but a little to "bready" for me. Girls had pudding. We then walked all the way to China to do the "pick a pearl". You may now say "But Mary the pick a pearl is in JAPAN" Um ya know that NOW....We made our way out of Epcot via Monorail and to the Poly where we had a ADR for Kona

We arrived early for dinner and browsed the gift shop. Purchased hoodies for the girls because I had not brought jackets. Love the decor at the Poly so lush so tropical. I would love to stay there some day.

Our dinner at Kona was ok. I had the prime rib and it was a little overdone. The girls both got smoothies which they did not really like. They did like the Kona Cone.Jeff got a drink he liked

I do not think I would do dinner here again. I have heard they have yummy breakfast. After dinner we ran into Leanne and her family who had a fabulous dinner at O'Hana's. Took the monorail back to the MK-they got to sit up front-lucky and made our way to the busses. Rode the bus back to CBR, I did landury and we went to bed early.

Next up, our morning at CRT-would it rain, would we have fun....

That is a good bathroom rule, that is what my parents made us do when we were young and did road trips across the country whenever we moved. :thumbsup2

Hey I remember that day. Sorry Kona was a disappointment. I've heard raving reviews about breakfast too. Great update! :thumbsup2

I'm taking notes on that bathroom rule for when Henry is potty trained and future children come along!!

I haven't done Kona for dinner, but have read many mixed reviews. We did breakfast and it was VERY good!!

We've done breakfast at Kona every trip.. it's like a family tradition!!!!!:lmao:

We've haven't done dinner though... most reviews of Kona dinner on the DIS are mixed.:confused3

Have you ever done dinner at Ohana? We did it in March and loved it!!! The only down side was being sooooo stuffed after. I needed a hand truck to get me to our car!!!!!!:goodvibes

Hi Mary!! I was at MK on that Tuesday and it poured BUT I did more rides than ever before as everyone else was huddled under shelter:lmao:

Great update! I cried the first night I saw Wishes in the park, too!! :sad1: Yep, Tuesday was the day it rained 11 inches in 1 day! Uggh! We were in AK that day and it WAS awful! We didn't get as many pics as we liked, either. Sorry you really didn't care for Kona. But glad you and Leanne got to meetup!!

Tues was really the only day I felt really grumpy about the rain-no wonder! Just have to go again to get more pics! Yep meeting Leanne was a highlight.

Today marks one month since I lost my mom. Kinda a hard day...
The girls and I are taking a mini trip to Calif to visit family. Am taking the laptop so may try and do an update.
