Hello Everyone! My BF and I will be making our first trip to Orlando in early October (staying in WDW w/ free dining). We are HUGE rollercoaster fans and would really like to take a day to visit US and IOA. We are used to large crowds, and long lines (thanks to many trips to Cedar Point).

I was wondering if it is possible to do all the major attractions in both parks in one day? Or, if it can't be done, which park do you guys feel is better? I'm not interested in mid-way, state fair type rides, but I am really excited for some new to us thrill rides!

Thanks!

We used to get through both parks in 1 day -- in early May. I'm not sure how different the crowd levels will be when you go. Just make sure you are there when the park opens and try to hit as many big rides as you can early in the day.

I'm sure others will have suggestions -- just thought I'd pass along my experience :)

My husband and I went in March and managed to see both parks in one day. We checked in the PBH @ 8:00 am and immediately went to the parks. We had FOTL access so there was no wait on any of the rides. I don't know how possible it would be to see both parks without FOTL access. :confused3

Good Luck and have fun !!!

Doesn't free dining end in September?

Yes, free dining ends Sept. 30th. But, because we are checking in on the 29th, we get free dining for our length of stay - until October 9th! :cool1:

I just can't wait!

My gf and I visited IOA in early September and were able to go on every ride by 2pm. It's tough to remember, but I think we were there on a Saturday. We arrived 30 min before park opening and had regular passes. Lines ranged from short(10-15min wait) to non-existent.

Assuming that Universal Studios Florida carried the same crowds, I think itt would be possible to do both if you forfeit shows or plan carefully. I'm basing this off of my experience at Universal Hollywood and ride times as I've never actually been to USF.

Of course arriving at opening and staying until close gives you a significant advantage since the first two hours and last hour of the day typically have little to no lines in any park.

We've done this over the past few trips - dotted back and forth from park to park - it's a very easy walk from one to the other! :thumbsup2

We didn't have FOTL passes, sometimes did parent swap as DD was too little to ride, and did some character meet and greets, too! :goodvibes

DD really wanted to try the HULK - but she was ony 3 at the time! :lmao: She was delighted to meet Spiderman, though and we were really glad she couldn't read yet, so she didn't realise there was an actual Spiderman Ride! :charac4:

BTW - our last trips were in October and December! ;)

the single rider lines are great. they are available for many of the rides and cut down the waiting time. There is only one draw back and that is you may not sit right next to the people in your party but you should still be in the same car.

I am sure there is someone who can post the rides that have single rider lines.
In fact, if you did a search on single rider lines I am sure you will find some old posts with the necessary info.

I did both parks in one day last year with DBF & his younger brother with no FOTL passes b/c they were sold out by the time we got there. It is definelty do-able. Our mission was also strictly thrill rides and we got through everything we wanted to . . . some things twice. In a group of just 2 or 3 young people you can move pretty fast. It's when you have the whole fam with you that really slows you down, although I may be attempting this with my family this July . . . we'll see. Anyways, have fun! :sunny:

It is possible to do both parks in 1 day. We have accomplished that. But, if you are big rollarcoaster fans than IOA is the best of the two parks. It is my favorite!

if you are only lookin to ride on the major thrill rides then yes ! but you will only beable to do 2 parks in one day , and probably no more ! this is cuz the queues can be vry long but i suggest u do islands of adventure for definite , tht is wer most , if not all of the major thrill rides in universal are !
