2 out of 5 picky eaters - did we make everyone happy? COMPLETED 3/8

It's hard when you have picky eaters, so I commend you for trying to please everyone! DH and I are big fans of R&C. We have always had very friendly servers and great food. DH loves that sweet potato pillow so much, that I don't think I could even tell him someone didn't like it...it would probably drive him crazy :lmao: We've only tried two dishes there, so it's nice to see pictures of other food.

Enjoying your reviews :)

It is hard to please everyone in my family. I have seen a lot of great reviews about the sweet potato pillow, which was why I talked my sister into splitting that entree with me. I would try it again, maybe it was just slightly off that day? Or maybe it was my stomach and taste buds acting weird? Thanks for reading!

Loving your reviews :)
Well done for managing to cope with picky eaters !
Looking forward to reading more :)

Thanks!

I LOVE Rose and Crown. It's a must for every trip!

Great reviews and pictures! Thank you for sharing. :thumbsup2

I was really unsure about booking here, but we wanted somewhere in Epcot and I knew some of the other restaurants could have ended badly for DH and DM. I think it was a nice happy medium and we would definitely return on a future trip!

I'm loving your report! Ever find out about the WPE tipping? That's one of our next stops so I'm interested too.

I didn't find anything about tipping at WPE, except The Aviator's review where they also left a tip on the table, but noticed that others didn't leave anything (similar to my experience). I also didn't get the receipt, so I don't know if it said anything about gratuity, which I know it does at Pepper Market from a number of reviews I've read about that place. I think next time I went if it's the same setup that I would make sure to look at the receipt and I would still leave a few dollars since there are "servers" working there. If you get any further information when you go, please post it to the dining board!

Sorry I took off for a few weeks, but I'm finishing this up tonight!

On our last day at WDW, we did the usual breakfast at Roaring Fork in the resort. The only new thing that was ordered was an egg and cheese croissant by DH. He usually loves breakfast sandwiches, but this one had so much cheese on it, it was leaking out all over the place and he wasn't thrilled. I should have taken a picture of all the cheese left on the plate when he was done eating it!

The rest of the food was fine as always. The oatmeal with fresh fruit turned out to be the biggest hit at RF. I think if we stayed here again, I would get that every morning.

We checked out of WL :sad1: and headed over to DHS to spend our last few hours. For lunch, we stopped at the Backlot Express. I didn't snap any pictures, I don't think my camera even made it out of my bag that day. In any case, 3 of us ordered the chicken tenders meal. It came with a good portion of chicken and fries (you can substitute apple slices).

DM ordered the hot dog with apple slices. I couldn't believe she ordered it, because she is very picky about hot dogs and will only eat Sahlen's back home. She said it was just ok (no surprise there).

DD ordered the avocado burger. Last I checked, this burger wasn't listed on the menu on allears. From what I remember, it was the average Disney burger just with a few slices of avocado on it. DD said it wasn't anything special and he wouldn't order it again.

Backlot Express got a thumbs up for its chicken tenders from 1 picky eater and a thumbs down from my other picky eater (who really should have known better than to order a hot dog!).

So that brings us to the end of our dining experiences this time around! Some final thoughts: I didn't miss the regular dining plan at all. We liked the option of being able to eat an appetizer as the entree, not feeling like we had to order dessert and not having any complications when the bill arrived. The last item happened during my Sept. 2010 trip at Chefs de France - you would think our server had never rung up the dining plan before! I think it depends on who I'm traveling with whether or not I would get the dining plan again. If it was free (and there weren't any other promotions going on), of course I would add it. But if I had to pay for it, I would think long and hard about it before purchasing.

Where would we go back to? Definitely Tutto! And I would love to go back to Artist Point, especially for a quiet dinner for 2. I would go back to Rose & Crown as well, if DM wasn't with us.

The best counter service was by far Wolfgang Puck Express. I'm going to have to plan lunch and/or dinner at DTD for my next trip because I'm hooked now.

So you can make picky eaters happy at WDW! Choose your dining options carefully, make sure the picky ones are aware of the menu beforehand and maybe push them towards the "safer" meals. There really is something for everyone at almost every restaurant.

Just reading your reviews now. I'm so jealous that you got to try the vegetarian shephard's pie! Sounds like something I would like, too. Thanks for posting.
