2 or 3 days?

I have never been to Universal. My husband and I plan to go there next fall for 2 or 3 days. We have seen the HP movies but aren't huge fans. Is there enough to keep us busy 3 full days or is it more of a 2 day trip?

It you like to ride rides and watch the shows then I think so.
Also during the fall I think they tend to have that buy 2 get one day free ticket. So if you decide you are done then you are just wasting a free day. It's nice to have time to wanted and not rush, just take your time and relax.

We just did a short trip a couple weeks ago. We could have done it in 2 days but I am glad we had 3. Even though the lines weren't long and we had FOTL and express, it was nice to not have to rush from one thing to the next or to have the freedom to hop back in line and ride something again if we wanted.

We did 2 full days of rides. The 3rd day we revisited rides and made time to see the shows.

Same here...had three days but pretty much did everything we wanted in two. We spent most of our time in the HP areas, since that's the reason we went. My son and I are also not big coaster fans, so we didn't ride those. We only did early entry once and slept in and did regular park entry the other two days. Lines were not an issue. We didn't wait more than 20 min for anything (including Gringotts) except for Forbidden Journey. That wait was an hour because we had bad timing. We could have timed it better and had a minimal wait.

It was really nice to not feel rushed in the morning and to not feel "guilty" about leaving the park at 3 or 4 because we were tired and needed to rest. By day 3 we were just leisurely revisiting our favorites.

I agree with the other posters. Two days minimum, three days to really top it off and revisit any attractions you may have missed (maybe they were down or the line was just too long). Three days will allow you to be a little more relaxed, sleep in a little, and not have to rush around.

I'm not really a HP fan either, but the design is pretty darn impressive. Its hard no to appreciate everything that went into making it a reality.

If you enjoy big roller coasters, you may want a 3rd day to re-visit some rides. My family and I are not into big roller coasters. On our last two trips, I had 3-day tickets (3rd day was "free") but we didn't bother going on the 3rd day. Two days was enough.

We have three day tickets for our upcoming trip, and we plan to do what others have mentioned.

We arrive on Monday about 4, will just explore RPR and CityWalk that evening.

Full days Tuesday & Wednesday in the parks, including EE and FOTL.

Thursday we leave for the airport at 1:00, so we will have the morning to revisit favorites or anything we missed.

We are excited!

One of my teen sons wasn't a big HP fan, but still was smitten by Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. Definitely three days.

I was never a big Mummy or Simpsons fan but still enjoy those rides. I don't think you have to be a HP fan to go to Universal, or even enjoy the HP rides and sections.

We always do Uni along with Disney, so we're always trying to cram it all in. If I had that extra day, I'd leave the parks earlier (probably at least two of those days) and pool hop to the other resorts. LOVE RPR (such a super pool area, so relaxing at night) and really wanted to see the others this trip, but went EMH-to-close every day again... *sigh*. Next time!!!

They are doing the buy 2 days get the 3rd free promotion right now, and their tickets do not expire so you could go ahead and get it and then the 3rd day is free anyways so you can decide when you're there

We did almost exactly this just a few weeks ago. We arrived at RPR from Disney around 5pm on a Wednesday. Spent all of Thursday at US and Friday at IoA. Saturday we were able to have a full day park hopping since we didn't leave for the airport until 6pm.

We're just two adults and we spent a lot more time at US than IoA. We finished up at IoA by about 1pm and went in the pool for a bit. I will say that by our third day, we were a little bored. We only has 2 or 3 things we hadn't done yet, so we re-rode some favorites. But we were ready to go by early afternoon and felt like we had to kill time. If/when we go again, I'd arrive late in the day and spend that night at City Walk, do the next day at US, and on the day we are leaving I would visit IoA.

I'm re-reading Harry Potter books with my son now. Can I just say how they are SO MUCH better than the movies. He saw all of the movies first and liked them but LOVES LOVES LOVES the books. I think it'll make our upcoming trip more exciting for him. For kicks and giggles, you might read them. Might make the trip a little more fun if you get some of the inside "jokes." But, it'll be fun no matter what.
