Hi, We've (DH and our 3 boys) have camped at Ft. Wilderness many times, but this time I'm driving down from MA with my sister and her 3 children. I'm not nervous about driving the RV down, what I am nervous about is backing into a site without taking out some poor soul walking around . Anyway, I've requested a Preferred site (200 loop) and was wondering how hard it is to back a 30' RV into it myself. Usually DH does that part and he makes it look so easy . . .

I'd be willing to bet you can do it. Just take your time. If not I'm sure another camper will help.

Campers are the NICEST people. Bet ya anything, someone will help out. My husband has helped many people back in. However, if you really get in a bind, we've been told (never done it ourselves) that you can call the front desk and they will send someone out to help you.

Hey there, on RV today/roadtrip the family that rented the yuge Class A and then went FT. Wilderness took a little time out to practice in a big parking lot. They put up cones and the Dad took a few tries at backing up, braking, etc. Or, if your neighborhood is fairly peaceful and low on traffic you could find a quiet day to drive around the block, come back and back in. The only problem is if you go all Long, Long Trailer and run things over, there could be witnesses! You can do it! (Not run things over, back it up!)

Hi! Another Mass girl here I will be very curious to hear about your drive down, and your stay at FW. We are staying in the cabins in June. I have always wanted to drive, but my kids hate long car rides, so I could live vicariously (sp?) through you!!
