2 Happy Diners+1 fussy kid's quest for Grilled Cheese do DDP Updated-FIGARO FRIES!!

Very creative with the itinerary cards, do you mind if I borrow your idea?
Did you print them from a site or invent on your own?
Italy sounds wonderful...I may have to add it to our August trip!
Can't wait to hear more.......

Great stories & pics....and the itinerary cards-very cute!

I always get a kick out of 'Beverly' pics since that's my name I can always get friends to try it...:lmao:

We are going to WDW in December and I am sooo hoping Tutto Italia's will still be open, I have read so many good reviews that it will be a big disapointment to find it closed.....Maybe with all the interest in the resturant the way it is will help them decide to keep it just as it is....Hated Alfredo's!
Love your review so far.

Bev

I too have a fussy DS. He has the same food repertoire as yours. Looking forward to the rest of your reviews. They'll help out for our planned August trip. We have ADRs for Tutto Italia. THe lasagna sounds great, but what does beschamel taste like?

Hey there! I found your reviews! Great start so far, looking forward to the rest!! :teeth:

thanks for stopping by- I hope you enjoy as your reviews were sooo entertaining- so I hope I can do the same! keep an eye out for similarities- your suggestions really came in handy!

Great start!!:thumbsup2

thanks!!!!

I hope so too- we are tentatively planning on going back May of 09 and would love to eat at Tutto's again- this time not on first night- if I have learned anything form this road trip ( we will drive every time- it was so easy)- eat somewhere simple on first night because the boys can't handle my pace!!

and in regards to the Bev tasting- Eeyore was seriously feeling ill for a while after that- but guess what- miraculously the cc cookie from Norway sorted things out! DH wouldnt taste another drink after that one either- but it was classic and so glad I got the pics- they both got a kick out of it later when they saw the pics and had a good meal from Tutto's in them!

best of luck with your fussy eater- i will do a highlight at the end of my best places for the fussy eaters to eat! as well as the adults too! I think you will find my reviews comical moving forward when it came to Eeyores meals- stay tuned and hopefully you can relate- and I can provide some helpful tips as well that helped to keep us all happy!

regards to bechamel- i think that is what they used- it is more of a cream based sauce- usully find it on steak belive it or not- I have had it a couple of times that way but i prefer the traditional with sauce- I have read a lot of great reviews on the Lasagnea though- so that is why I told DH to get it and he really loved it- I however did not try it though- I think it is really a
personal preference-if you are not sure though then they have a great menu to choose from- I thinky you would be with any menu choice!

Hey all- I have also started a funny thread over on the resorts board regarding Stacy- from the top 7 must sees at WDW- check it out- and add your stories to it as well- if you can relate! I posted the link below- still new to all this and not sure how to rename it- if anyone wants to help... thanks!

hey- sorry didnt forget about you- just trying to do this at work- without being noticed- lol...
anyhow- in regards to the itinerary cards- mine were sort of pathetic and nothing to them- but Hayley, AKA Eeyores Tailfinder- she has subbed to this thread- now hers are awesome- you can PM her for the template and how to-

I just printed mine on regular paper - found free clip art of each park logo- and typed them up on word- printed them out in color- and then get this- I laminated them with packing tape to protect them from getting wet on the rides and to keep them in good shape- ( kept them in my back pocket or camera case for easy access )the only down side to that is we did make some last minute ADR changes- and you cant really write on it once the tape was there- but they did work well- antoher fun tip- on the back of them I had printed out the weather report for each day-( did this the day before I left so that it was most current) so it helped us when getting ready for the day- but you can always get weather on hotel tv- this was just a little fun add on- and DS loves reading weather reports- go figure!

What a great idea! Thanks for sharing! I will definitely be doing this!

Great reviews and can't wait for more:surfweb:

Im back... ready for day 2.....

I woke up at about 7:00 am- the boys were passed out exhausted and I figured I would let them sleep late- so I showered and got ready and went to get my first cup of the dreaded Disney resort coffee that I have been reading the horrors about on the dis boards-
got to the yucky cafeteria ( sorry I think this is the worst one out of all the values- the All star Movies was soooo much better- and it didnt help that at 8 am it was PACKED with teenagers on school trips- ok now I feel old!)

bought the one and only refillable mug since I would be the only one using it ( we brought down 4 cases of water and had a fridge- that is the beauty of driving- saves soooo much money on water) anyhow waited behind all the kiddies getting their morning cup-a joe- what is with that- I dont think I started drinking coffee until my late 20's! ok now I feel old! lol

and guess what- I thought the coffee was Yumalicious!
quick sidebar- importan detail*I usually only drink Iced Coffee from Dunkin Donuts- I LOVE Iced Coffee- but from prior trips to dis I remember that there was only one place in Epcot that had Iced Coffee- - so I had to resign myself to the fact that hot coffee it would be****

sorry - back to the reviews- so there you have it- I really liked the coffee- it was probably due to the fact that I used the cream and sugar ( normally use skim milk and splenda at home- but hey I was on vacay!) I did not find it bitter at all-which is what I was totally expecting from all the bad reviews.

ok- keep going..... I let the boys sleep as late as they wanted -today we were heading to Animal Kindgom - and I was soooo excited as this was DH's very first time- there is nothing like going to a theme park with someone for there first time- I will save all details for my TR- and and we finally made it to the park at about 11:00 ( so against my plans!way too late imo to arrive at a theme park!) first up-saw Lion King- loved it as usual
and we all were hungry- it was about 12:15 and we were in camp minnie mickey-
I had nothing planned for lunch so it was free game- and then my son saw the sign- Pizzafari- well that was it- nothing left to discuss!

Headed. inside- and it was pretty busy by this time- this was our first time at Pizzafari and I loved the different themes in each room- we had to walk through a few to find a table and I made sure to take note of the murals ( had read on another review to take not of the walls) and we settled towards the back in the wilderness mural section ( best way to describe- no pics soooo sorry- but was on a mission for food) it was really hot outside- so a nice added bonus to this place is it is nice and cool inside.

the line took Forever- note to travelers during future spring breaks- do not get on a line for food behind the spring breakers- see i lined up behind 4 young girls- nothing against em- I am sure they were having a blast -but here is the deal- you know how the lines are 2 sided and the CM goes from side to side- well if you are behind a family of four- only one has to order- if you are behind 4 individuals- first off they all order seperately and then they didnt have enough money- so it took forever for them to all scrounge to gather enough for each of them to eat- at this point I was so tempted to just tell them to order on my DDP and I would pay..

we all ordered the same Pizza, water & Minute Made Frozen Lemon-ades-
here is the oddest thing about this restaurant- Pizza is not on the Kids Menu- what is with that! anyhow didn't matter just used our QS credits and we were good to go.

got back to the table and got the "look" does anyone know that "look" I am talking about- the look of "what took you so long" "dont you know were starving" yadda yadda- they should try standing on the crazy lines and I will sit and guard the tables! no such luck for rest of vacay- I was the orderer at all QS ( gotta love WPE- i'll get to taht later!)

DH and I thought pizza was so so ( hey we are orig. from NY- DH from Brooklyn so we know good pizza) but it did the trick- kinda like pizza hut personal pizzas

Eeyore- absolutely LOVED his pizza- said it was the best- ate every last bite an asked if we could come back there again later on the trip!

Fro-Lemon-ades were outstanding- so perfectly refreshing-highly recommend these on a hot day- they sell them all over the parks in snack carts too- and you can use snack credits.

finished up lunch and headed out to explore- its a jungle out there! ok Im a dork.....

we had ADR'S at WCC for 7:50 so we had lots of time to have fun.

rode lots of rides .... Eeyore was hungry again about an hour later- this boy can eat! so we stopped and got a soft pretzel - said it was really delish- he loves his pretzels!

We toured some more and I was starting to feel a little hungry - it was only 4:00 so I thought what a perfect time for a snack break-had lots of snack credits to use and lots of new things to try ( once again thanks to the dis boards) and we were conveniently in Asia when this hunger struck- there it was - Yak & Yeti's I had read so much about staring us in the face. hmmm what should I get????

Dh & Eeyore weren't really hungry - DH got another Frozen Lemonade- many more to follow on this trip.

Eeyore just shared DH's snack

I ended up getting the egg rolls- they came 2 per order- and let me tell you- these were seriously the best egg rolls I have ever eaten ( oh I promise that there are negative reviews to come- just so happened that so far everything was just so yummy) the egg rolls were nice and hot- not too greasy- and they were flavored & seasoned so well- I did add Duck sauce to them because I love Ducks Sauce- oh and DH ended up eating one- which I am glad he did because I knew what we were in for at WCC ( saw pics of the skillet!)
heres a pic of the egg rolls- and can you believe I didn't start eating them before the pic!

and here is DH enjoying his one of many fro-lemonades
IMG_1604.jpg

ok- so that gave us the boost to finish the park- DH loved Ak- we went back for more later on in the trip

We left AK about 6:00 because I was really looking forward to checking out th WL- I have never been there before and it looks so beautiful in the pics i had seen- we got there pretty fast as we used our own car- around 6:30 - toured the resort for a while- it sure is amazing-and then I tried to check in early ( it was now about 7)but was told that they were completely booked so I had to wait for my ressie time- meanwhile she couldn't find my name in the computer- sooo remember those great itinerary cards I made with all my ADR's & ressie #'s- well I left in the CAR! had to walk all the way back to get it- and when I got back to the counter the hostess located it right away- turns out she was looking up the wrong name- ugh! but this worked to my advantage- cause guess what- she checked us in and handed us a pager- oh and I remembered reading on the boards to request to be seated in the main dining room to really enjoy the experience ( only wished I could request a server as well- would have asked for sue- you'll see why in a few)

our pager buzzed fairly quickly- within five minutes or so- and we were seated in the main dining room- yeah- WCC off to a good start!

Our server was Moe- super nice guy but soo not into playing it up- oh well- Eeyore really wasn't in the mood to be messed with at this point- he was really starting to live up to his nickname and wasnt "feeling" the restaurant...yet

I knew exactly what DH and I were getting- we didn't even look at the menu- I told him to trust me- and he did- we had to get the skillet!

Poor Eeyore though- not so lucky- No Grilled Cheese here- so he settled hesitantly for the Mac & Cheese ( side note - he only likes Kraft Mac & Cheese in character shapes only- what a gourmet!).....will he like it.... or will this be the start of the Meal Exchange program that we became active members of on this trip!

stay tuned....

be back in a few !

Having fun reading your report! I am getting ideas for my picky grandson when we go!!
I am glad to hear you can order the skillet with the dining plan!!!
Thanks!!

I've been reading some great reviews lately of that skillet, hopefully yours was great too!:goodvibes

I'm loving your review, can't wait for the rest of WCC. We will be in Disney in 9 days... can't believe it's so close. I do have a question though. At Pizzafari you said that they don't have pizza on the kids menu, and that you used your QS credits, what is QS? Sorry I'm new to all of this and as we've been considering Pizzafari and I know my kids will want pizza, I was curious to what you did. Thanks!

egg rolls look really good. I am droolong over my keyboard now. :goodvibes I was thinking of canceling our Y&Y ressies but now I think I will keep it.

Were you able to get the Egg Rolls (my fav!!) at Y & Y for a snack credit?

We were on the Disney Dining Plan- Not sure if you will be as well- if not thenno worries about credits- you can just purchase the pizza meal otherwise if you are then- Qs- stands for Quick or Counter Service credits- I was able to order the pizza for DS and use a counter service credit for- which I was confused a little bit about- they didnt break down the counter service credits by age- just gave the total amount for the entire party- but I believe you have to order off of the kids menu or they will subtract it from the adult credits then- but still not sure- maybe someone else can help as I lost track of credits by the 4th day- just kept eating til they told me I couldnt anymore!!! the good thing is that on every reciept - you will have a printed balance of credits left- or the front desk- concierge area can print one out for you daily to help keep track.... i still found it so odd that they didnt offer it on the kids meal menu- just spaghetti & meatballs- which it was way tooo hot out to eat- and other items that DS wouldnt eat- all he wanted was pizza which I think most kids would have wanted as wel..go figure!

meanwhile have fun- 9 days in Dis is WONDERFUL!-and take notes fromt the dis boards as there are so many great suggestions- I did- and even forgot to try some of the things I wrote down- but oh well- guess we just need to go back again !

egg rolls look really good. I am droolong over my keyboard now. :goodvibes I was thinking of canceling our Y&Y ressies but now I think I will keep it.

we got these from the take out-counter service part- not the actual restaurant- but I am assuming that they should be on the menu- just double check for sure- they were reallllly good!

Were you able to get the Egg Rolls (my fav!!) at Y & Y for a snack credit?

yes indeed- I think they were the best use of a snack credit!!! ( well others came close too- like the school bread ahhhh-)

i fell asleep early last night- wow disney vacay's really wipe you out- you need a vacay to recover from the dis vacay! lol- and still doing laundry-ugh!:laundy:
... will post more tonight-extensive review of WCC to come- I hope my posts are not tooo long and boring- I tend to talk alot- so I guess I type like I talk- but its fun !

all CS credits are lumped together. They do not know if you are using adult or child credits although you are supposed to order your children's food off of the child's menu.

BTW they do have egg rolls as an appy at Y&Y

Great reviews! Can't wait for the rest. Soooo you're from NY and live in NC now? Hmmmmm let me guess- Cary? LOL. We're from NY (Brookyn, Queens and LI) and just moved to Raleigh. But it seems like all the NYers we meet live in Cary. Sooo, where is it?
