Im back... ready for day 2.....
I woke up at about 7:00 am- the boys were passed out exhausted and I figured I would let them sleep late- so I showered and got ready and went to get my first cup of the dreaded Disney resort coffee that I have been reading the horrors about on the dis boards-
got to the yucky cafeteria ( sorry I think this is the worst one out of all the values- the All star Movies was soooo much better- and it didnt help that at 8 am it was PACKED with teenagers on school trips- ok now I feel old!)
bought the one and only refillable mug since I would be the only one using it ( we brought down 4 cases of water and had a fridge- that is the beauty of driving- saves soooo much money on water) anyhow waited behind all the kiddies getting their morning cup-a joe- what is with that- I dont think I started drinking coffee until my late 20's! ok now I feel old! lol
and guess what- I thought the coffee was Yumalicious!
quick sidebar- importan detail*I usually only drink Iced Coffee from Dunkin Donuts- I LOVE Iced Coffee- but from prior trips to dis I remember that there was only one place in Epcot that had Iced Coffee- - so I had to resign myself to the fact that hot coffee it would be****
sorry - back to the reviews- so there you have it- I really liked the coffee- it was probably due to the fact that I used the cream and sugar ( normally use skim milk and splenda at home- but hey I was on vacay!) I did not find it bitter at all-which is what I was totally expecting from all the bad reviews.
ok- keep going..... I let the boys sleep as late as they wanted -today we were heading to Animal Kindgom - and I was soooo excited as this was DH's very first time- there is nothing like going to a theme park with someone for there first time- I will save all details for my TR- and and we finally made it to the park at about 11:00 ( so against my plans!way too late imo to arrive at a theme park!) first up-saw Lion King- loved it as usual
and we all were hungry- it was about 12:15 and we were in camp minnie mickey-
I had nothing planned for lunch so it was free game- and then my son saw the sign- Pizzafari- well that was it- nothing left to discuss!
Headed. inside- and it was pretty busy by this time- this was our first time at Pizzafari and I loved the different themes in each room- we had to walk through a few to find a table and I made sure to take note of the murals ( had read on another review to take not of the walls) and we settled towards the back in the wilderness mural section ( best way to describe- no pics soooo sorry- but was on a mission for food) it was really hot outside- so a nice added bonus to this place is it is nice and cool inside.
the line took Forever- note to travelers during future spring breaks- do not get on a line for food behind the spring breakers- see i lined up behind 4 young girls- nothing against em- I am sure they were having a blast -but here is the deal- you know how the lines are 2 sided and the CM goes from side to side- well if you are behind a family of four- only one has to order- if you are behind 4 individuals- first off they all order seperately and then they didnt have enough money- so it took forever for them to all scrounge to gather enough for each of them to eat- at this point I was so tempted to just tell them to order on my
DDP and I would pay..
we all ordered the same Pizza, water & Minute Made Frozen Lemon-ades-
here is the oddest thing about this restaurant- Pizza is not on the Kids Menu- what is with that! anyhow didn't matter just used our QS credits and we were good to go.
got back to the table and got the "look" does anyone know that "look" I am talking about- the look of "what took you so long" "dont you know were starving" yadda yadda- they should try standing on the crazy lines and I will sit and guard the tables! no such luck for rest of vacay- I was the orderer at all QS ( gotta love WPE- i'll get to taht later!)
DH and I thought pizza was so so ( hey we are orig. from NY- DH from Brooklyn so we know good pizza) but it did the trick- kinda like pizza hut personal pizzas
Eeyore- absolutely LOVED his pizza- said it was the best- ate every last bite an asked if we could come back there again later on the trip!
Fro-Lemon-ades were outstanding- so perfectly refreshing-highly recommend these on a hot day- they sell them all over the parks in snack carts too- and you can use snack credits.
finished up lunch and headed out to explore- its a jungle out there! ok Im a dork.....
we had ADR'S at WCC for 7:50 so we had lots of time to have fun.
rode lots of rides .... Eeyore was hungry again about an hour later- this boy can eat! so we stopped and got a soft pretzel - said it was really delish- he loves his pretzels!
We toured some more and I was starting to feel a little hungry - it was only 4:00 so I thought what a perfect time for a snack break-had lots of snack credits to use and lots of new things to try ( once again thanks to the dis boards) and we were conveniently in Asia when this hunger struck- there it was - Yak & Yeti's I had read so much about staring us in the face. hmmm what should I get????
Dh & Eeyore weren't really hungry - DH got another Frozen Lemonade- many more to follow on this trip.
Eeyore just shared DH's snack
I ended up getting the egg rolls- they came 2 per order- and let me tell you- these were seriously the best egg rolls I have ever eaten ( oh I promise that there are negative reviews to come- just so happened that so far everything was just so yummy) the egg rolls were nice and hot- not too greasy- and they were flavored & seasoned so well- I did add Duck sauce to them because I love Ducks Sauce- oh and DH ended up eating one- which I am glad he did because I knew what we were in for at WCC ( saw pics of the skillet!)
heres a pic of the egg rolls- and can you believe I didn't start eating them before the pic!
and here is DH enjoying his one of many fro-lemonades
ok- so that gave us the boost to finish the park- DH loved Ak- we went back for more later on in the trip
We left AK about 6:00 because I was really looking forward to checking out th WL- I have never been there before and it looks so beautiful in the pics i had seen- we got there pretty fast as we used our own car- around 6:30 - toured the resort for a while- it sure is amazing-and then I tried to check in early ( it was now about 7)but was told that they were completely booked so I had to wait for my ressie time- meanwhile she couldn't find my name in the computer- sooo remember those great itinerary cards I made with all my ADR's & ressie #'s- well I left in the CAR! had to walk all the way back to get it- and when I got back to the counter the hostess located it right away- turns out she was looking up the wrong name- ugh! but this worked to my advantage- cause guess what- she checked us in and handed us a pager- oh and I remembered reading on the boards to request to be seated in the main dining room to really enjoy the experience ( only wished I could request a server as well- would have asked for sue- you'll see why in a few)
our pager buzzed fairly quickly- within five minutes or so- and we were seated in the main dining room- yeah- WCC off to a good start!
Our server was Moe- super nice guy but soo not into playing it up- oh well- Eeyore really wasn't in the mood to be messed with at this point- he was really starting to live up to his nickname and wasnt "feeling" the restaurant...yet
I knew exactly what DH and I were getting- we didn't even look at the menu- I told him to trust me- and he did- we had to get the skillet!
Poor Eeyore though- not so lucky- No Grilled Cheese here- so he settled hesitantly for the Mac & Cheese ( side note - he only likes Kraft Mac & Cheese in character shapes only- what a gourmet!).....will he like it.... or will this be the start of the Meal Exchange program that we became active members of on this trip!
stay tuned....
be back in a few !
