This evening I picked up Forty Licks by the Rolling Stones, and ELV1S 30 #1 Hits by Elvis. So many great hits and memorable songs here. Many have a good beat, and are easy to dance to.

I bought 2 of the Elvis CD's when it first came out. One for me and one for my baby bro (28 yo on Wed.). He's keeping the CD but, making cassettes for my parents & I for our cars w/o a CD player. :o It's a great CD for Elvis fans! :) I bought another Elvis CD at the same time, Golden Hits (or something like that), it was the ALBUM (yes ALBUM) I was raised on!!

It's hard to pick my most faves but, #20, #27 & #28 are among the top from this collection.

Dan, is yours #19?! ;)

Mick Jagger/Rolling Stones?? Very good but, I wouldn't buy it personally. I'll stick to enjoying them on the radio now & then. :)

Keep on rockin' Dan

Think I should grab that Stones CD - I lost alot of my music years ago & have so many new ones that I'm trying, I never got them all replaced. "Wild Horses" reminds me of my brother - He used to play that on his guitar alot when we were teens. I know it's about Marion Faithful, but it will always remind me of listening to my bro sing....

Dan & Kim, maybe you can make a suggestion for me - I like Elvis' early years stuff, not the later ones - Can either of you recommend a CD of his that is the early stuff (before he went into the glitter-suit stage)?

thanks Dan..
Gonna buy the Elvis cd for my MIL for christmas..:)

I was thinking... WOW 31 songs on one CD until I remembered that each song back then was only like 2 minutes long... LOL

I've never listened to Rolling Stones ( that I know of... I am sure I have) but I'll have to check them out.

Ooh! I'd love to have the Elvis CD! Gonna have to go and buy one! :teeth:

All those songs are great! I have heard that Little Less Conversation song on the radio, I really like it. Elvis Presley was actually my "neighbor" once upon a time...I lived in Memphis for six years and for awhile we lived in an apartment that was right across the street from Graceland! :)

Dan I agree that those are two great CD packages. For the true Stones aficionado, check out the early years remasters in the digipaks. Sweet:D

I think if I got the Stones' CD I would play the first one and not the second one! I already have "Through the Past, Darkly" and I have a cassette (!) of "High Tide and Green Grass" somewhere--why isn't "As Tears Go By" on this??
I am going to buy the Elvis CD though. I have the Beatles One and it is a great intro to the band for my kids.

Dan, I passed by both those CDs the other day, but now with your reviews I may have to go back:D BTW I'm still trying to keep these new earphones on:rolleyes:
