(2) Gosselin kids expelled from school for bullying

Not disagreeing- but there are 2 parents riding that gravy train....... People keep blaming Kate for the kids being in the spotlight.

She is the one keeping them in the spotlight, she is the one wanting to continue filming. How is she not to blame at this point?

And - if you read the link above, one of the girl sextuplets was suspended for two weeks for hitting another child/or children..

3 out of the 6 having these types of issues - 1 suspended, 2 expelled - does not bode well for what their overall emotional state of well being is pointing towards..

How much more do these kids have to go through before the parents realize it's time to pull the plug on the tv shows involving the kids permanently??

I thought Kate was supposed to get her own shown - minus the kids.. What happened to that? :confused3

I'm sure there is something in it for him. At one point he was all for "pulling the plug" on the cameras and then changed his mind....

I think he begrudgingly changed his mind. I think he saw no other way, TLC made it impossible for him to earn a living, he couldn't do any other TV work, himself. What a nice bunch over there at TLC. Kate on the other hand was crying all over the place from the beginning about how the kids missed filming, and I remember her sitting there on GMA or whatever show it was talking about now, because they weren't filming the kids couldn't go to NYC and she had to explain that to them. Sorry, no sympathy for Kate from me. Her attitude stinks, she is the pure definition of the word we love to use around here, ENTITLED plus I guarantee you that her kids are probably(another word we love to use) SNOWFLAKES. After all, they didn't get to go to NYC a year ago. Those poor babies. How in the world did Kate and those kids survive.

All that being said, I do know that Kate could never return to the real world of work, no hospital would hire her, but she could change her nasty attitude and her sense of entitlement for her and her brood. They don't deserve everything just because there are 8 kids. Maybe if they did shows more like even say Alaska, where at least she was normal, then maybe people would like her more. And maybe she should start telling her kids that they don't deserve everything. Because no one deserves it, you earn it.

I think that the child suspended was also one of the two expelled, not that it makes much difference. All of these poor kids are troubled! They have been through a lot. I greatly dislike seeing one of the twins trashed on the internet too. That twin just speaks the truth, IMO.

I'd fully support Kate getting her own show without the children. I also wonder when that will happen? That other show seems to have been tabled indefinitely.

Really, the Gosselin debacle should send shivers down any parental spines at the very thought of putting children on TV. So sad.

I agree.. And I was soooooooo hoping that Kate would get her own show (with the kids never to be seen on tv again) and for it to be a huge success! Sincerely!! She would be able to live the life that she and her children have become accustomed to, yet it would be her doing the work and her life put out there for all the world to see.. She's a big girl - she can take care of herself and defend herself - something those children can't do..:sad1:

She is not a likable person. She would have a very hard time drawing a loyal audience.

Maybe the other child was teasing the Gosselin kids... "hey I just saw you poop on the potty for the first time last night on TV" "hey I saw you vomit last night on TV and sleep on the laundry room floor"

Does anyone remember on the shows way, way back (after Aunt J) when they had the young girl helping them with the kids?

I remember posting on here way back then that when the helper put Alexis in her car seat, Alexis hauled off and smacked her. Then Alexis got a kind of funny look on her face like "Uh oh...what did I just do", and you could just see her mind working about what was going to happen to her for doing that, but the helper didn't really say anything to her about it.

JMO, and I'm not condoning it, but it could be that this type of behavior never got stopped from a early age because the kids were just so darn cute ;)

I didn't read all the responses but when I read the posts about the 2 expelled and 1 suspended my first thought was that the private school doesn't want the kids (or the mother) there!!

Ah, but so much better to start all over again tearing the parents apart, rather than just admit this is not that unusual. Just about all of what is being discussed is old news. I see the same explanations from the same people (just like you see me here again) as to why the kids act out. We all know it's because of Kate LOL. No one elses kids ever act like these kids, at least not the children of the disers. We all have perfect families, perfect well behaved kids, we all talk to every member of our family (including out in-laws and every one of our adult children)..yada yada yada.

Of course this is good for TLC as well. More interest. As was often said in the old thread that got closed..any interest in them, is better than none. They (the kids) are being talked about all over the internet..that's good for TLC. And surprisingly, just when they were on TV again.

We also need to keep in mind that it being a private school a student can be dismissed for any reason they want. The other parents could be sick of the paparazzi coming around the campus, the 2 that were "expelled" could have learning issues that the school can't handle and this is the reasoning. Public schools are required to meet reasons for dismissal, private schools can be arbitrary.

This reminded me that the McCaughey septuplets (born November 19, 1997) are about to turn 13. I wonder how they're all doing. It seems their parents have done a better job than Kate and Jon.

^Agreed!

Personally, I think Keith and Becki Dilley have done an incredible job with the specials I've seen through the years. I can't believe their six kids are now seniors, just like my son is. Seems like only yesterday I watched their specials on ABC by Diane Sawyer, and it seems like yesterday my 17 1/2 year old was born. Time has flown by so fast. Their kids seem to be extremely well-adjusted. Maybe that's because they only had yearly TV specials and not a series on TLC for many, many years like the Gosselin kids.

Regardless of who the children are, I think it's ridiculous to expel 6 year olds.

I agree..however, having no real idea of what happened to get them expelled other than suspended, perhaps they had no choice. I thought I had read on Sunday (but can't find it now) that there are no further plans to tape more shows (although it didn't say no specials).
Although I really liked the Alaska show, it may be time to hang it up, as it would be with any kids that need more family time and less camera time.

They do seem like really nice kids. They were the ones on the food channel, weren't they, for their 16 birthday, getting cakes made? I wonder, was it the parents choice to not do more specials/a show, or lack of interest by a TV producer? It seems it's more recent that they started to have these shows on.

I have no idea about doing more specials or having a show about the kids/lack of interest. But perhaps keeping the kids out of the national spotlight week after week the way the Dilley parents did was for the best. Monetarily not great, but mentally and emotionally for the best and you can't put a price tag on that. I'm sure their family has the normal problems and some not-so-normal problems that come from such a large family with multiples the same age, but they really do seem like great kids. I give Keith and Becki full credit for that.

I saw the Food Network 16th birthday cake challenge too and it was really good. I really enjoyed watching it and seeing the kids as older teenagers. :thumbsup2

Exactly!:thumbsup2
The kids have no choice about filming and what is shown. Their parents do, or did. And they are both responsible for the choice to film in the past. As Kate is the primary custodial parent these days I will put the blame on her if filming of the children continues when (IF) they are having problems in school.

As to their problems in school, it is true that children do get expelled from kindergarten. Rarely. Very rarely. Usually for violent behavior. It is a pretty big deal to be expelled from school at any age.

I expect that a lot of thought was put into the decision. I doubt that *IF* these children were expelled it was on a whim. I'd think that parent/teacher conferences were held, interim measures put in place, and the decision to expel was made carefully.

*IF* these children were expelled. If they were not expelled and this story is totally false, I would expect a denial from the parents (both) and the school. Faster than fast. Leaving this to internet speculation is horrendous. But this is the Gosselin family we are talking about . . .

So sad.
