My family is booked at the Poly and Sister and BIL are booked at CBR. Has anyone ever done this before? If so, how did it work out?

What do you mean by "how did it work out?" The plus side to this is that you can use the pool at either resort (yes, you can use the pool since each of you will be staying at that particular resort & Disney will allow your guest to use the pool...only exception is Stormalong Bay or if you are traveling during peak season when pools are crowded) & you will also have your own privite family time. The down side is that you will have to meet up all the time instead of traveling together. If you have kids, they cannot just "run" to each others rooms....... So it all depends on what you want out of your vacation....

We have done this many times. We set a meeting time and place most days. Sometimes we met at the park and sometimes at somebody's room. Some days we didn't get together until supper. It actually works better for my family when we aren't together all the time. More relaxing for everyone.

we always travel with Family, and never stay at the same resorts. I can not get my sil to go up to a deluxe from a moderate. We go deluxe or Dvc. Its not a money thing, Last year we stayed at a deluxe for ten dollars more than her moderate... With codes of course. They will probably meet you at the poly on the days you go Magic Kingdom and Epcot, Simply for the Monorails ease. As for the other parks at Mgm. We meet just inside the gate by Guest services. animal kingdom we meet just to the right there are some shade trees near the stroller rental place. we go in May and are in differant resorts again. In December for a portion of our stay we wil be all DvC For the first time as they will be on some of my points. I am sure it will be easier those few days. However this has worked all along with no problems. Good Luck.

Thank- you for the information. My SIS is only staying for 3 days and they don't have any kids, so I'm sure that it won't be a problem.

Actually Disney's written policies are that resort guests, not resort guests and their guests, may use the pools. Keep in mind that during busier times, they do check rooms ID's, and swimmers who are not a guest of that hotel will be asked to leave.

Of course you could all swim at a waterpark.
