I’m in the final stages of planning a June trip to Disney World, and I’m trying to decide if I should devote two days to Animal Kingdom or two days to Hollywood Studios? We will be there a few weeks before toy story land opens, so I’m not sure if Hollywood Studios would be a two day park. It has been five years since we were last there, so I have not seen all of the new construction. I would appreciate any help from anyone who has been there recently. Thanks in advance for the advice!

Why don’t you do one day at each?

I would do 2 days at AK becaue there are more time consuming attractions and they have tiered FP. If you use fast passes well at HS i don’t think you need the second day at all.

With the addition of Pandora and with Toy Story Land not opening until 6/30, I would recommend 2 days at AK and 1 at HS. How many days are you planning at MK and EPCOT? For reference: we are planning 3 days at MK, two and a half days at EP, one and a half at AK and one at HS.

DHS is a one day (really half day) park. I always do several days at MK, at least 2 at Epcot, half a day at HS and one and a half days at AK. Are you doing MK and Epcot too?

We’re planning 3 days at MK and 2 days at Epcot. We will be in the parks 8 Days total, so I have 3 days to play with.

2 days in AK. It is my favorite parks, especially if you are into animals. The only reason you might need two days in HS is if you want to see Fantasmic! and the Star Wars fireworks.

I may have a little different take. Since FP+ started we have struggled to get on many of the better rides without FPs. The tier system (which I don't like) would put me at DHS two days over two days in AK. We really love RnR and TSMM, but need to go to park twice to make sure we won't spend 2 (or more) hours in line. In AK, FOP is a FP must, but I would not waste one on Na'vi River again. Just not worth a FP.

Now, all that said I recently read where TSMM may be closed for some time prior to opening Toy Story Land. That would probably push me to AK for a second day.

100% 2 days at Animal Kingdom! I am just completing a 6-day trip and did not even darken the gate of DHS and do not feel like I lost anything.

Of course to be fair, I really only do Tower of Terror and Muppet Vision there as I am neither a Toy Story fan (I like it ok, but didn’t really “get it” with any of the movies) nor a Star Wars fan (I actively don’t like it and avoid anything to do with it), so even when those lands open, it will not be on my radar.

I could honestly have spent more time at DAK and been perfectly fine. Absolutely love that park.

Last trip, we went to each park twice. We had to split out Animal Kingdom because of Flight of Passage availability so we did one full day and more of a half day. We did a full day at HS and then came back another half day because my son wanted to do Jedi training. We spent a surprising amount of time in HS this past December.

Assuming you wont be around for the opening of Toy Story on June 30th, i'd definitely do 2 days at AK. Not HS. There's so much to do at AK. Its such an amazing park! :)

HS is barely a 1/2 day park for us now, in fact, in our trip coming up, don't even plan to go there at all - only SB available now for TS during transition - no FP.

I don't think it matters what the rest of us say. It depends on your family's interests. For example, a lot of people skip HS now. For us, it was really hard to fit everything into 1 day. My kids love Star Wars, Toy Story, Frozen, and my oldest loves the thrill rides (Tower of Terror & Rockin Roller Coaster). I would make a list of the attractions you want to do at each park and see which one makes more sense for your family.
