Hello everyone,

I will be going to WDW at the beginning of January (4th and 5th). Will be staying at the Sports hotel. If I do get tired during the day, I could go back to the hotel and rest. I would like to split up my 2 days with 2 parks each day. How should I split it up?

Jan 4th: Magic kingdom has extra magic hours from 8:00PM-10:00 PM
Jan 5th: Disney Hollywood Studios has extra magic hours from 8:00AM-9:00AM

I know the marathon starts on the 5th.

What would be the best strategy as in which 2 parks on the 4th? and which 2 parks on the 5th? Thanks in advance!

January 4 - I would start with AK at Rope Drop and then once done, head to MK after. If you need a few hours break, All Stars are close to Animal Kingdom making it not too far out of the way to take the break. Then you could close MK. I would plan FP+ ahead of time for MK from 5-6, 6-7,7-8.

January 5 - I would take advantage of the EMH at DHS and start there. I know I have gotten a lot done there in the early morning hours. Then when you are ready head to Epcot via walking or taking the boat and start in World Showcase and plan you FP+ for later in the day. I would start in World Showcase because there are quite a few places to sit and take a break, plus you can go at your own pace.

If you are wanting all 4 parks, I agree with tobikaye above. In 2 days I would usually do 3 parks, hopping both days similar to the above, but with more MK and EPCOT time. I would add that if you want to stay in the parks instead of going back to the hotel, just plan a break in the parks, esp. for a meal

A few things:

AK is the closest to your hotel and MK is the furthest. Hopping AK to MK is the longest hop. I would not return to hotel between parks.

Some Possible choice for one day (pick two):

RD MK (without FP+) -> Epcot with FP+ for SOARIN or TT (stay at Epcot for WS, Dinner and illuminations or return to MK for the evening)

EP for two hours in the morning (SOARIN and TT) -> DHS for 4 hours (on non EMH day) -> Epcot for WS, Dinner and illuminations

RD MK with FP+ -> AK -> -> Another park for the night shows or EMH.

RD AK without FP+ -> Transfer to DHS <This combo works great>

AK is the park that does not need FP+.

Here's what I got for my Fast Pass + schedule.

Jan 4th:
  • rope drop for Epcot (will try to do FEA, Test Track, and Soaring) and then explore
  • head to Animal Kingdom in afternoon for FP (3:00- Safari, 4:00- Dinosaur, 5:00-Expedition Everest) and explore
  • Magic Kingdom for extra magic hours

Jan 5th:
  • extra magic hours at 8:00 AM for Hollywood Studios (Rock n Rollercoaster, Toy Story Mania) and explore
  • head to Magic Kingdom in afternoon for FP (4:45- Big Thunder, 6:00 Space Mt, 7:45 Seven Dwarfs)

Any suggestion on how I should change it? or keep it? The only thing I'm concerned about is if I can get all those 3 things done at Epcot in a reasonable amount of time (FEA, Test track, and soaring).

Thanks everyone!

With the Tier system on FP+ You would not be able to FP all 3 of those Epcot rides. You would have to choose 1 and the others would be standby.
