2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

Forgive me...but I plan to be AWOL until Sunday night. I have staff development training today, and just as soon as I am done I am loading up the kids and heading for the New Mexico/Colorado state line to meet my mother...giving her my 3 kids for the until the 1st to spend time with her and my nieces/nephews. They are going camping and fishing with my family. Then I am going to head to our cabin for atleast 3 days of ME time...no husband, no kids...I am so ready and so needing this before I seriously go back to work full time on Monday. I have my scrapbooking stuff loaded up along with a bunch of books and some chick flicks I rented last night from the video store. DH may or may not join me Friday night...I am secretly hoping he doesn't, but then again we never have any US time and it is needed too! Asleep at the Wheel is playing Friday night in a neighboring mountain town so we may try to hit their concert.

Have a blessed couple of days and do some WDW dreaming and planning for me!

Have a fabulous time relaxing and doing things just for you. What a great way to refresh and do some Disney dreaming :wizard:

I did it... I booked our departure flight!!! I just could not continue to pass up the perfect flight time and decent price anymore...or pray that 5 seats would remain open for another 1-2 months!

We are flying out at 7:50 am Christmas morning...so now I can rework my reveal plans (and how to break the news to MIL :scared1:) Dh and I talked the other night, and he was the one to decide the
time to leave!!!! We will arrive at MCO at 3:30 pm! So we may be able to hit USO parks that evening!

Now I just have to stalk and stress over return flight!!!

But why does the return flight not bother me so much????

I feel this lots, and I am not sure if I put the pressure on myself to always be the responsible one (feel guilty if I ever want time for myself) or it that is reality! Does that make sense?

It totally makes sense. I think I have put myself in the position that I am in. I stayed at home with the kids until my oldest was 17. I have chose to the be responsible one... and now, my family doesn't know how to not lean on me. Then there is the fact I like to have control. (at the hospital, I had to be at every vital check to make sure the nurses didn't need ANYTHING and quickly I became the one to start tending to things) Then there is the guilt. I too feel guilty for wanting things for myself. I guess that is why Disney is my obsession... it is great for all of us.. and I allow myself to fixate on it..

I think I would have killed if the house was a mess, after I had cleaned it in less than a few hours...and don't even get me started about forgeting to give Zoe her medicine! :scared1:

Hoping both of us do not end up in jail for murder! :rotfl: Hope this week is better for you!

Well, I had yesterday off and I cleaned all day again. I just hope that come friday I won't have it all to redo again. I am amazed at how no one in my family can wash dishes by hand. They sure like to use the pans that can not go through the dishwasher... but wow... I wonder what they think happens to them as the all stack up and then magically disappear.. :confused3

And... yes, here is to both of us not ending up in jail for murder. :rotfl2:

I am so glad you are getting some time. And to scrapbook??!! Now I am jealous. I use to work at a scrapbook store and I when I wasn't assisting customers I would work on my own books. I was behind then... but constantly making slow progress. Now... I have not scrap'd in almost a year. This has been a busy year (I knew it would be - I mean.. can you believe that it has been 7 months since I booked my WDW trip?). I hope to go to the CK convention in the fall... and hopefully, that won't be the next time I get to work on anything since it was at the last CK convention that I got anything done. :sad2:

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Isn't it a good feeling? I am still stalking a change in mine and Zoe's flight... I just would feel better getting in the same day as dh and ds. Then there is the return. I keep thinking... it has to go down. It did a bit... and I am terribly conflicted with it (is that a surprise? :rotfl:) Do I fly home at 3:40.. meaning that I will have to cancel the afternoon tea that I booked for just Zoe and I or do I wait and hope to get the later flight I want at the price I want.

Ugh...now I am second guessing our departure tickets!!! :rotfl2: I went in to make seat assignments and one of our legs is not on a jet service plane (beechnut 1900...us and 15 other passengers)! Okay let's look at this as an adventure...the fare was $200 cheaper per person than any other fare, same amount of legs, same length of travel, perfect time frame in departure and arrival...only negative is the size of plane!!!! Am I silly got worrying about this?

I don't think you are silly... smaller planes can be a bit alarming to fly. However, how long is the leg? I assume it may be on one of the shorter legs? It might be doable. I know we flew a small cigar tube on one leg of a flight once. It was a bit :scared: but... the flight was only an hour and then we were done. It was worth it to be able to get the "right" flight. Maybe this would be the case for you too. :goodvibes

YAY for booking the flights! I like flying! In fact before I got married I wanted to be a flight attendant so that I could travel all over! So I wouldn't be afraid, but I can see where others would be! And have fun this week! Just forget everything and take the ME time that you need~ if you would let me come I'd join you and I'd promise to keep the house/cabin clean and eat all of the vegetables on my plate without being told to:lmao:!!!! But really have fun and get some rest!

Yay for booking flights. When my DH and I flew from NC to FL we were on a tiny plane! The left side had ONE seat and the right side had TWO. Yeah tiny! There was also only 30-ish seats on the plane... I was freaked out. But it went really well.

Congrats on the flights  And double congrats on time by yourself :cool1::cool1: As much as I love my family I always say my ideal mini vacation is myself, alone in a hotel room with a couple of good books and a stack of chick flicks or a weekend marathon of Lifetime movies:rotfl2: Hope your having a great time!

Way to go on booking your flight! I hope you can find a great deal on the return trip too!

As for flying a smaller plane. I can understand your concern, afterall you are flying in winter. I flew to Pittsburgh during an ice storm one year during spring break when I was in college. We landed on an iced up run way. I never prayed so hard! Then I had to get on a small plane to head to Harrisburg. Everything went well, but I was so on edge. I'm not sure if I would have been less on edge in a larger plane or not.

I hope you enjoy your time to your self! Do you hand make your scap book pages or do you create them digitally?

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: on booking flights.. I never worry bout getting home either... Worst thing about going to disney is if plane gets delayed on the way over when you just want to get there asap! Coming back the plane can be delayed as long as it wants :goodvibes

:yay: I'm late but I'm here, I found your link from the fb dec page. ~Shanta

Welcome! I am sorry I have not been around for a while...but I promise to pick up again and start my boarderline obsession with planning this trip!

there's a facebook dec page???

Yes there is...there is a group called WDW December 2011 Planners...I am not sure how to link it, but I am sure if you did a fb group search you will find it.

I'm back.....sure have missed you my obessive planning friends!

Actually I have been back since Sunday, but the dang internet connection has been down since then ...so we kicked our provider to the curb so to say (this is the 5th or 6th time in the last 2 months we have been without service) and bundled our phone and internet with the cable...which is going to save us almost $75 a month! Wahoo!

I been kinda checking in on my iphone...but the cabin is out of network...who knew until I got this great text from AT&T stating my out of area data plan was SEVERELY OVERLIMIT...oh man....what is this bill gonna look like.:eek::eek:

The kids have been gone now for a week...will pick them up Saturday. It is so weird and quiet...but I am loving the piece and quiet too! I talked with Ab today and it sounds like they are having a blast with the aunts/uncles, grandma and cousins...they have 3 moose and a bear :scared1: in their campsite and have caught a lot of fish.

The 3 days by myself at the cabin were WONDERFUL...stayed in my pj's all day and had scrapbook stuff spread from one side of the cabin the other. I got a lot done (would have gotten more done had I had more christmas greens and reds cardstock)! The cabin album is now up to date and my a special project that I have been wanting to give each child is done....each year we buy them a Christmas ornament that represents something about them that year to hang on the tree and an ornament if we take a special trip...when they get married I plan to give them their box of ornaments as a gift. I had been wanting to make individual mini albums with a picture of the ornament and a little bit about why we chose this ornment for them...and up date it each year. I finally made these albums! I am going to give them to them on the night we trim the tree as their advent gift for the day...gonna connect it to my hidden WDW surprise advent theme via DTD Christmas store and picking out an ornment for our trip.

I am now officially unofficially back at school. All curriculum specialists have a week of training this week, although we do not officially start back until Tuesday of next week...have to be at training, but only paying us the staff development stipend instead of our full daily salary. :confused3

Look at my ticker...in less than 5 months we will be visiting Harry!

Glad you had a good time. I know how awesome it is to get some scrapbooking done. I use to work at a store...and got so much done then. I hardly get anything done now. Back then though... (and now..but since nothing gets done, does it really count?) my goal was for every event... there would be a layout for each child and then one for my album. When Zoe was born that made it so I was always working on a total of 5 different albums. Lets just say I am years behind.

Doesn't it feel good to come under 5 months?!!!! I was thinking about how many saturdays i have till our trip.. just 19!!! December will be here before we know it. :dance3:

Jealous about working in a scrapbook store! Sadly our local one closed last spring!:sad1: I don't get to work on my albums much either...a couple of times of year when my Creative Memories consultant has all day crops. I wish I had room in our house to have a room just for my stuff where I could leave it out and work on it, instead of having to drag everything out all the time...which makes dh :scared1::headache: because I tend to have my stuff scattered all over the place when I am working...he would have died if he saw what the cabin looked like....:rotfl2:

I had good intentions too with albums...then Goo came along (whose album is not even started). When he came I decided that we would move to a family album with everything (they can fight over it when I am dead) and then just save pictures of the kids from the events and school and do a yearly 2-4 page layout...hmmm not made it there yet! I do have a cabin and Christmas album (which is 3 years behind), plus a couple trip albums...but I am behind a bunch of trips!

Wow...19 Saturdays! :scared1:
