Hi all

On our upcoming trip the other party that needs to rent a car doesn't have a credit card. Also, we have an annual pass....

Is it acceptable to put both cars in our name and just add an additional driver for them? It seems like so much trouble to pay cash!

What do you think??

Thanks!
Lisa

We did this last year without a problem. My sister doesn't have a credit card and the whole extended family was traveling together.

Mom rented my sister's car and mine as her present to us, put both of us on as drivers, and never even got in my sister's car the whole week. They didn't blink an eye at it. Forget which company, but it was a major one in the terminal. I don't recall it being particularly expensive - $25 or something to add an additional driver (even though that driver won't actually end up driving?) We did clear it with our local car insurance agent to make sure sis had the proper coverage even as the "alternate" driver.

I didn't even think of the insurance part!!! So, should she check with her company on rental coverage???
