Does anyone know if there's a Trader Joe's near the park? Walking distance? I've visited their website and checked out locations but as I've never been I can't judge whether just how far it is.

Trader joes is a grocery type store.. they carry mostly their own brands, health organic but not the price of whole foods..

If you don't have a car to get to the one in Orange. If you just need wine-At the south East corner of the resort is a ABC market and 7 Eleven. They have basics. Sutter Home, Lindemans, Barefoot. At the SW corner of DLR is wonderland liqour.

If you can't get the Two Buck Chuck, go for Barefoot, Barefoot is one of my favorites and it's normally around $5 a bottle.

I loaded up on two buck Chuck today for the holiday!!! But I love Barefoot's Pinot Grigio!

Oh yes it is!!!! Right here in San Diego!!!! Bought 3 bottles today = $5.97!!

I heart Mickey - Homewood has free wine Mon thru Thursday as far as I know. Remember - we will be at Homewood starting on the 30th if you need us to byob for you, we'll be driving.

Honestly, 2 buck chuck doesn't do it at all for me any more. It's barely drinkable, IMHO. But we've found another, excellent 2 dollar wine. You've gotta try the Foxbrook California Shiraz. It's sold at Albertson's food stores (in some locations, including ours, Albertson's was bought out by Sav-More, which is where we buy it). Really, to my taste, it's as good as most wines selling for $10-15. It's what we use as our everyday wine now. Indeed, we're down to our last half-case -- time to go shopping!

2 buck chuck is actually decent for the price. I was bitterly UNimpressed with any of the Barefoots.

its real name is Charles Shaw wine. originally sold for $1.99 a bottle. haven't seen it for that price in over a year. Back before better wineries started boxing their table wines, it was the best everyday drinkable stuff if you were cheap.

Thank you so much for offering. We are driving too. The wine isn't for us. We've been asked by a friend to bring them back a case and I said that if it wasn't too far out of our way I would bring it back. I figured I would research in advance and thought the forum was the best place to start.

We are so excited for our first trip. I can't wait!
