2 BR Value at AKV question...

What is the configuration of the value 2BR units at AKV? Are they all lock-offs or are there some dedicated? I am thinking about bringing my kids and my parents and I would like to avoid anyone sleeping on a sleeper sofa. This would be a total of 6 people so if there are units with the second bedroom including 2 beds and no sofa, THAT would be perfect. If anyone has stayed in a 2BR value unit, how was it? Does it seem small? We have only stayed at OKW so I look forward to our upcoming trip at AKV.

LisaS, where are you?:worship:

All of the value 2 bedrooms are lock offs. Kidani will have dedicated 2 bedrooms, but won't have any value villas at all.

Compared to OKW, AKV value will seem very small indeed, but since you are looking forward to staying at AKV, I'm sure that excitement will override your disappointment!

So, just so I am clear, the value 2BR has a king bed in one room and a queen and sleeper sofa in the other bedroom, plus a sleeper sofa in the living room? I assume the kitchenette is present in the "second" BR as well correct? This wouldn't be too bad since my kiddos are only 2 and 5 right now. They can handle a sleeper sofa for a while. I can take the "studio" room and my parents can have the master BR. Since we only use the room for sleeping, I think the value would be fine. Yes, it will seem small, but I'll just compare it to our stay at Pop Century instead of OKW!;)

Are the Value 2BR going to be difficult to book for, say next August, with Kidani opening up? I would try to do day by day at the 11-month window, but I don't know if we'll be owners by September. I'm still working on it!

Yes, you are correctly describing a value 2 bedroom as a lock off. People here also have reported that a 1 bedroom value has a chair-bed used as a single sleeper, but that the room is too tight to open that as well as the double sleeper. I'm having my first stay in a value one bedroom this Friday, so I don't know it first hand.

Best wishes as you decide to buy or not! I don't know about availability. Those points are definitely worth the size loss to me, but I only am tempted to book "value" for weekend stays, I really really like the savannah view.

I have never heard this. I heard the Value 1 Bedroom does NOT have a sleeper chair and sleeper sofa. Just a sleeper sofa. Only the Standard 1 Bedroom or higher has the sleeper chair as well.

Well, that could be...I thought I read it, and will find out for sure this weekend!

All of the reports I've seen state that the Value 1BRs have both a sleeper sofa and a sleeper chair. There is not enough floor space to open both at the same time. So you will have a choice of using either the sleeper sofa or the sleeper chair but not both at the same time.

ETA: I have to take this comment back now. I've just seen a report of a Value 1BR that did not have a fold-out chair: Post #54 in this thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1848261&page=4
