We had one of the “savannah” view 2 bedroom value villas at jambo. It was barely a savannah view - nothing like the traditional savannah views. It was a great villa for location in the resort and really cheap point wise. It did not have a great view.
Out of ten value 2BR lock-offs, four have savanna view, four pool view, and two front entrance view. All the value rooms are near the front entrance on the Ostrich and Giraffe Trails and the ones with savanna view, which are on the Ostrich Trail, overlook a tail-end portion of the Sunset savanna. See http://www.parkinfo2go.com/dvc-akv/floor5-large.html. The views are OK but not considered the best, which is proven by the fact that in 2012 all the savanna view rooms in the same area were converted to standard view.
It is luck of the draw in the view you get, but both times we have booked the value, we had a savanna view. Besides the low point cost, another plus is the location. Those hallways can be very long and after a long day in the parks....ugh. But, the location of the values is close to the lobby.
We lucked into a Savannah view, it was fabulous. Of course it was only one night at the beginning of our trip but we were hosting family and they absolutely loved seeing the animals so I was happy we got lucky with the view.
