Does anyone know how difficult it is to get a 2-BR at Vero in July if it's not your home resort? I'd love to buy enough points to get 10 - 12 nights there every other or every 3rd year, but am brand new to DVC and am very unfamiliar with resort availability.

Thanks!

i dont know, but i have read others' posts stating that as of this week vb was booked until sept. we tried to get a 2br for labor day weekend (6 months out) and they did not have any available until monday night.

We have been going to VB for the past 7 summers in either june, July, or August. Our home resort is the BWV's, I have always been on the ball about calling at the 7 month mark and have never had a problem getting a 1 or 2 bedroom unit. I have however on several occassions had the DVC CM make a comment like "wow your lucky theres only x number left of those". This past fall I was on hospital bedrest and didn't call until 6.5 months out and nothing was left except studios and Inn rooms. Our group can't stay at the beach in smal accomodations, nope just can't. We took the three nights that were available and just booked three extra nights at the BCV's. So instead of 6 nights at VB we're only getting 3. I think the more resorts that Disney builds will increase the demand at the 7 month window making it more of a challenge. That said we are looking at buying 252 points enough for 5 nights in a beach cottage every summer.

We bought VB points because our trips will usually be at Spring Break and we will need a 2br or beach cottage. Our guide said unless you want beach cottages or want to go at Spring Break that's when you need to buy VB points.

Great information! Thanks for the responses. You know...I was really excited about the thought of other resorts being built, but that makes sense that there will be more people in the system competing for certain locations, especially during certain times of the year. Food for thought.

Again, thanks for sharing your experiences. :goodvibes

We are leaving tomorrow for our 2nd Spring Break at VB. We have never had any trouble at the 7 month window. That being said I would do it at the exact 7 month window. Once it opens I think it goes quick. Good Luck:goodvibes
